Update [Wed 24th Aug, 2022 10:30 BST]: Bullet Soul and Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst are getting a slight delay on Switch, MAGES. has announced on Twitter.

This pair of shmups will now be releasing a few weeks later worldwide on Switch — on 29th September as opposed to 9th September in the west (and 22nd in Japan).

Don't fret, though! MAGES. has given us a couple of new trailers to gaze over in the meantime. We're sure shmup fans can wait a few more weeks in what already is a loaded month for Switch games.

Original article [Fri 24th Jun, 2022 10:30 BST]: MAGES. has announced it will be bringing Tachyon's shoot 'em up duo Bullet Soul and Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst Coming to the Switch on 9th September worldwide, while Japan will see the game a few weeks later on 22nd September.

This flashy bullet-hell shooter rewards you for aggressive play and fast shooting. With music from Romancing SaGa's Kenji Ito and Ridge Racer's Kohata Takahashi, over-the-top pyrotechnics, and eccentric character designs from Monogatari artist Akio Watanabe, you're in for some hot-blooded shooting later this year.

The games were originally released on Xbox 360 in 2011 and 2014 in Japan respectively, before making their way over to the West via Steam in 2017. Both games will cost $19.99 each and will be available on the eShop, while in Japan you'll be able to pick up a physical double pack with both games.

The two games in the hot-blooded high octane barrage shooter series "Bullet Soul" are now releasing on digital downloads!

Operate 4 characters with unique aircraft, and fight an intense battle in order to preserve the peace of the galaxy.

Both beginners and hard-core gamers alike will enjoy this game's well-balanced systems.

Akio Watanabe (representative work: Bakemonogatari, L no Kisetsu, Missing Blue, When They Cry Go) is in charge of character design.

Ito Kenji (representative work: "Romancing Saga" series) is in charge of BGM.

An amazing collection of creators, for example, Kouta Takahashi (representative work: "Ridge Racer" series), will participate.

Featuring all-new music for the Switch! The "Ver 2022 Arrangement" by RESONATOR and Noriyuki Kamikura (representative work: Muramasa-The Demon Blade, Under the Knife 2 ) will be set on the Nintendo Switch™ version.
