While we wait for Mario Kart 9, which is supposedly in "active development", why not check out Mario Kart Tour?
The game's been available since 2019 and Nintendo is still providing it with regular content updates. At the end of last year, the game got the New Year Tour - adding in Bowser's Castle from Mario Kart 7, and in the next update it'll be adding Singapore Speedway.
This is a new track part of the Singapore Tour which also marks the debut of vacation Luigi:
Singapore Speedway will join various other global tracks like Sydney Speedway, Los Angeles Laps, Vancouver Verlocity, the London Loop and Tokyo Blur.
Are you still playing Mario Kart Tour on mobile? Will you be checking out this next event? Comment below.

You know, I couldn't care less about Mario Kart Tour but I appreciate how it's been supported over the years. I think between this and the Splatoon series, Nintendo realized how important it was to support games over time.
If Luigi visited Singapore, he would be sent to the gallows for possession of mushrooms.
Mario Kart Tour should take a vacation too, a trip to Belize.
Visit to Indonesia, please. 🇮🇩
I think Nintendo knew about Indonesia.
They used the inspiration from Indonesia especially Bali for Happy Home Paradise and the additional new clothes.
It was very Indonesia.
I legit hope Mario Kart 9 has these alt characters but as skins.
@nib0
I would love for Singapore’s laws to be implemented in America, crime would drop like a rock overnight.
I'd prefer Mario Kart 9, personally.
If costumes aren't a thing in 9, then it'll be sad.
Nothing against costume swaps, but why not new characters more often?
MK8D for when I'm at home
MKWT for when I'm out and about
Happy Days!
So um when are they gonna do a warioware tour?
(Seriously it’s easy just add diamond city as a course and add in Mona as a new character and give Wario his biker outfit as a new variant)
This game has a pretty good roster… but I still want to see Dr Goomba Tower make a return.
@d-slice this is the most constructive and positive comment on a MKT post in months, thanks for that!
@Anti-Matter my uncle is Indonesian (I'm from the Netherlands, so that's no surprise.)
I would rather like an Indonesian track! It's not like it hasn't got enough to inspire a track! ♥️
@Greatluigi That would be AMAZING!!!
Good for Luigi for getting a vacation. Hope he travels safe.
Put all this stuff in Mario Kart 9 please! Even if it's through similar periodical updates. So long as the base game is also Mario Kart worthy of course.
Looks so great. Credit to the Mario kart tour team for keeping things fresh
Waiting for Chocobo GP instead. That looks sick.
Does this count as Super Luigi Sunshine?
@d-slice shame that they didn't support mario maker 2 for that long
I play Mario Kart Tour every once in a while, so I might hop back in to play this, but what I really want is for these tracks to be in the Retro Cup of Mario Kart 9. Mario Kart Tour’s new tracks have the legitimately best course progression in the series, so if they were expanded on with anti-gravity and whatever 9’s new gimmick is inevitably going to be, I think Tour might be looked back on more fondly.
@Yosher I like a lot of what they are doing, but I am also cancerned that they might turn MK into a subscription….
I have a feeling nintendo is testing the waters with this mobile game to see what people would like in MK9.
@rockodoodle God I hope not. If they do then I'm quitting the series. At least regarding new titles.
Singapore eh? I wasn't expecting that. Looks cool!
as much as i wish nintendo put this kind of effort in their regular mariokart's, it really is a step in the right direction (from a certain viewpoint). it shows nintendo is willing to get plain weird with an IP like mario, when in the past we saw the same old plain-white-bread output that was the new super mario years.
@d-slice youre making me hurt now i would have loved more themes/costumes (samus would have been so cooool)
@Yosher I think what they might do is sell the base game, then have u sign up for premium NSO to get the extra content. Could live with that. MK Tour is still fun, even tho I haven’t spent anything on it.
@Don no it wouldn't. As the legalization of marijuana across the states has proved without a doubt. In fact the legalization of medical research into mushrooms is leading to breakthrough treatments particularly in the areas of mental health. Treated with respect, these plants can be wonderful for healing purposes as well as spending up your Mario Kart
I hope Nintendo support Mario Kart 9 as well as they have Tour
I don't care about mario kart 9, just trow in 8/9 new courses in deluxe, that would be awesome.
Imo mario kart 9 should be released on new 4k 60/120fps nintendo hardware as selling point at launch , same for metroid 4.
Dolby vision/atmos raytracing the whole pakkage.
