Super Bomberman R Online has been treated to another update, giving players the chance to check out a new character and a brand new map.
Let's kick things off with the new map. Called Orion Town, this new battle arena offers up a variety of settings and seems to be just as hectic as you'd expect – check it out below.
The new character in question is Goemon Bomber, who you might recognise from Super Bomberman R. Goemon Bomber comes with a skill that lets you place numerous bombs in front of you in a straight line.
While we weren't overly impressed with Super Bomberman R Online when we played it for review at launch, the fact that it's free-to-play means that it's certainly worth checking out if you're a fan of the series.
Do you play the game? As ever, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Completely forgot about the free version of this, ah well got too many backlogs to play it
Finally, the best character is back!
@DjinnFighter we need that Mystical Ninja Collection already!
I'm really into Bomberman, and have been since NES days. Even with Bomberman 64, I had ton of hours poured into it thanks to multiplayer mode.
So believe me when I say that I was really looking forward to this game.
I played it twice, and then uninstalled it a couple weeks later. And this was even during the early Switch days when I was desperate for new games to play.
@Desrever this is not the same game as Super Bomberman R that was released in 2017.
... But I consider Super Bomberman R a superior game, but I'm not a fan of battle royales
@Link_of_Hyrule Yes! The Switch really needs more Goemon games, Mr. Goemon isn't enough.
@Bunkerneath As did I. Would like to get into it someday, but there's just too many other games to play right now. Can anyone tell me if the online community is even still thriving?
Do you need online to play?
About time Konami remembers Goemon. Now how about a new game for Switch and PC.
@Link_of_Hyrule Yes. It was kind of weird how they didn't make one with the Castlevania, Contra, and Arcade ones...
If they had chosen a different kind of line up, I could have totally dug a collection with the Mr. Goemon arcade game, the first two Famicom games, Sarawareta Ebisumaru for the Game Boy, and the 4 SNES games. Even though the PS1 and N64 games would've been nice as well.
There's actually I think 3 Nintendo 64 titles. I only ever played the one though. I want the firat N64 game and the SNES game probably more than anything else but a collection of the N64 games would be cool too.
@DjinnFighter not going to lie I didn't even know that was a thing.
I play this once in awhile. Grabbed the update on PC, going to grab it on Switch later. Because this is on other systems, I like it gives the concept that the 99 games have, a battle royale based on a classic games, on other systems too.
@Zarudepie If you mean NSO, you don't need an NSO supbscription to play it. It's one of those free-to-play games that can be played online for free.
Personally I love this. One of the more fun smaller Battle Royale games. This, Pac-Man and Tetris 99 are all great fun.
But Super Animal Royale is taking up a lot of my time at the mo, amazing game and a great version of the Battle Royale format.
@Link_of_Hyrule Mr. Goemon is the first game in the series. It's a fun game, but it's nowhere as fun as the SNES and N64 games.
I still play this from time to time. It's good Bomberman fun!
