Niantic has issued the latest update for Pikmin Bloom, the real-world AR game based on Nintendo's charming strategy series.
The update takes the game to version 36.0, fixing a number of bugs, adding new sharing features such as the ability to send postcards to friends, and even reducing the required network usage to fully enjoy what the app has to offer. You can find the full patch notes below.
Thanks for playing Pikmin Bloom! We’ve been working on the following improvements and bug fixes:
- Reduced network usage
- Improved a camera roll permission dialog
- Added the screenshots sharing feature!
- You can now send postcards to your friends from the postcards list
- Now you can choose Pikmin to send gifts
- Added a logo on AR photos
- Added new avatar costume
- Other many bug fixes
The game is set to host its second Community Day event this weekend on 18th December – a date that actually falls in line with the next Pokémon GO Community Day, too.

got this 'game' on my phone. login from time to time. can we get a real pikmin game now?
After playing this for a couple of weeks I removed it from my phone, it was draining the battery like crazy in the background and there wasn't really that much it offered that I can't already do through other apps. Shame, because I wanted this to be fun.
Love Pikmin Bloom I have to say 😊
It’s a nice app to open up at the end of the day. Been playing this since it launched. We need bulborbs to defeat and bosses
@Pillowpants same, it was draining my battery A LOT. Had to charge my phone a few times a day.
It’s a fun little pedometer and it doesn’t pressure you into buying stuff, but there’s much incentive to keep using it
I played this game for a month or so but ultimately didn't have the hook to keep me invested. Also it drained my batteries really quickly so I eventually just deleted it
My batteries haven’t been getting drained unless the game is actively open for me, but that may be because I don’t use my phone much while at school
Charming game but was a real battery killer (even in off mode). It also just couldn't keep my interest like Pokemon Go
I've found that it only drains when active, so unless I'm walking and planting flowers, I have the app fully closed on my phone. Whenever it's reopened, it updates with all steps I've done thanks to the pedometer features on the phone/watch I use, so no real loss.
I continue to enjoy this as a nice little motivator to walk around more than I usually do.
Pikmin 4 on Switch please Nintendo. If you don't want to make it then ask Devolver Digital to do it or something. Then we can have an 18 rated Pikmin game with cursing and gratuitous gore. Anything, just not this, thanks.
My son is wanting to play this but they wont allow children accounts for android phones yet. That needs to be rectified!
It's a fun game but until they've confirmed a fix for the Android notification bug, I won't be reinstalling it.
Had it for one day - battery usage was off the charts, so I uninstalled. Don't even think I know what the game is yet, just know that it used a lot of battery.
@1UP_MARIO totally. These different colored mushroom quests just ain’t doin’ the trick. Literally any variety would be welcome.
@SoulSilverIV That was fixed like a week ago thankfully.
