Back in September, you might recall Capcom announced it would be doing a Monster Hunter Rise collaboration with Sega to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Capcom has now issued a reminder via social media, informing hunters far and wide that this crossover event will definitely be taking place at some point later this month.
As highlighted by Siliconera, this won't actually be the first time Sonic has teamed up with the Monster Hunter series. During the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate generation, players were able to craft Sonic-themed gear and outfits for their Palico.
This will however be the first "non-Capcom" collab to arrive in the latest Monster Hunter release. More recently we got a Ghosts n' Goblins collab, and previously we've seen other Capcom characters from Street Fighter, Okami and Mega Man series.
Will you be revisiting Monster Hunter Rise when this new Sonic collab is revealed? What other crossovers would you like to see? Leave a comment below.

if I don't get to dress up my character as Dr. Eggman, I want nothing to do with it.
I didn’t play the demo yet but if it’s like any of the other monster hunter demo’s where it takes a year to attack and it’s stupid hard to actually hit the monsters (along with the items are unnecessarily difficult to use) then not even Mario and sonic DLC for monster hunter rise will get me to like it. 😒
@Greatluigi Play the demo and find out. It's very enjoyable indeed.
But aren't we getting more stages?? It seems like pretty much all the updates are just collaborations.
I better be able to hunt as Dark Knight Sonic or else.
@the_beaver This game is not a live service game, You get the game, Play the monsters, wait for G rank, thats it, World may have had that, But thats not normally how this works.
@Greatluigi I would say to play the demo but the demo's always suck for bringing new players in, So you would only be playing it to see how it plays, But you did say you have played a MH game before, so this shouldn't be an issue.
@CharlieGirl I see you have taste.
@the_beaver we are getting more meaningful content in the expansion coming next year, but as noted, World’s live service model was an exception, not the rule. Those two updates with additional monsters and story were basically part of the game itself that wasn’t ready at launch, and the base game concluded with the second update. Don’t expect anything other than cosmetics until next summer’s expansion.
@Greatluigi the demos are really bad at showcasing the game. That being said, they’ve become progressively faster paced, and combat is so frantic now that it is almost unrecognizable compared to older titles, as characters can do all sorts of crazy combos and evasive maneuvers now. The emphasis on this entry was really mobility, since the characters are quite literally ninjas.
@ShadJV Oh ok, a pity, but understandable.
Id rather hunt him 🤣
Is Donkey Kong also coming?
Aww man, I don't think we're getting a Metroid collab again, even though it would have fit much better in Rise than in 4U
All I'm expecting is a sonic costume for the hunter and a tails costume for the Palico
