Update 1 (Fri 5th Nov, 2021 11:25 GMT): Incredibly, it appears that the Series 5 cards are already out of stock. Gah...
Clicking through to the website now lets you sign up to be notified of new stock, so at least there's a chance you'll still get your hands on some in the future. They're also available at GAME, but a higher price of £3.99 plus £4.99 delivery means you'll have to pay a ridiculous £8.98 for just one pack.

Sold out already??!!
@SuperMariCrow Scalper bots perhaps.
Sold out already? They went quicker than the N64 controllers. I want to say I'm shocked, but I think the term; "how Nintendo" is more accurate 🙄
Just got 1 pack from Game (UK) as that is all you can order!
I got mine from Game. At least I think I did - I had an email this morning saying they're being packed, ready to be sent out
Also, only 3 cards in a pack?! Pfft...
See, this is the kind of thing we need in North America. amiibo cards are an amazing way to avoid having to buy expensive collector's items in order to gain access to certain content.
@WeltraumDreamer I don't know if Nintendo limits how many duplicate items a single person can purchase but if they have a system like that in place I'm sure scalpers have found a work around.
@ModdedInkling amiibo cards can be bought in North America, assuming you can find a store that has them in stock. I used to buy the Animal Crossing cards from Game Stop before New Horizons was even announced.
The Max Limit of 10 per person didn't help as well.
It should have been a max of 2 per person.
Scalpers gonna scalp. Such a ***** practice to see time and again.
I suppose the only answer to it is to make more product available at the time it goes live, but then if they overshoot they've got potential waste at a time when this planet needs anything but more waste.
That's frustrating, I wanted to buy some of these, and all it took was to be away for a short while.
I didn't even get a notification email about them going up on the site, they used to do that for amiibo.
@NintendoFanBoy16 A max limit of 2 would be the worst. This is a blind bagged set of 49 cards with 3 in a pack, if you're lucky 2 packs will get you 6 non-duplicates and you've still got 43 in the set to go but you're not allowed anymore? Plus 1 of the three cards in each pack is a special shiny card and not a villager, so you'd get at best 4 new villagers you could scan. Better hope you get ones you like? A limit like that is just encouraging secondary markets and bot scalpers more than anything as people would have no choice but to go to them to complete sets or get the characters they want!
It's weird these sold out so fast, the previous sets there was no problem buying them months after release. No doubt scalpers have hopped on to the hype of the update and bought a load to flip. But to me this screams of lack of stock, likely due to the same impacts from Corona and Brexit most businesses are feeling right now.
I expect they'll get more in, in the near future.
I picked up the Sanrio cards after going back to AC last night with the new update.
Not going to even bother ordering from Game, limit of 1 per customer is a joke, especially when postage charges are more than the item itself!!!
Hopefully they come back in stock, sold out in under 10 mins is ridiculous!!!
@SuperMariCrow
They've restocked thankfully, I've snagged a few packs for myself.

Edit: Already sold out again, wow.
Also wanted to point out that apparently, UK packs are limited to 3 cards per pack, whereas US packs will apparently have 6 cards per pack.

We got ripped off?
I placed my order at 3:54pm GMT, just a minute before this article updated.
I think they were in stock for maybe 5-10 minutes but not sure.
@Tourtus
I meant as a reward for My Nintendo.
I know social media is a sore subject around these parts. But I follow a great Twitter account, amiibo alerts. They just tweeted there are some available on Amazon (here in the US). Was able to get one pack, in addition to having gotten 2 packs last week when they were available
They appear to be phasing in and out of stock, I'd keep an eye out if I were you
My partner and I found the Sanrio pack at a Target here in North America yesterday. We picked up two, one for us and one for a Christmas gift. We're really glad to see a reprint happen, especially after the mess when they were initially released here.
I packed up a pack in GAME and got the three most dull islanders going…
@RupeeClock It used to be 5 cards… I was surprised when only three fell out the pack.
@ModdedInkling As cool as that would be, I don't see Nintendo offering amiibo cards for platinum coins on My Nintendo. Maybe for the gold coins?
@Tourtus
Gold Points would still be much cheaper than the regular price at the stores. Either way, it would make it feel like a legitimate reward.
@ModdedInkling Depends on how many points they ask for, here in the U.S. 1 gold coin is the equivalent to 1 U.S. cent, if they ask for 600 gold coins for a pack of cards that's still 6 dollars, which is what the old Welcome Amiibo card packs used to sell for here. I'd love to see better rewards from My Nintendo, I think exclusive amiibo cards would be an awesome start but they could be hard to obtain if the point exchange for them is high.
Still haven't been able to find a single pack of these anywhere over a week on from the initial release. So frustrating!!!
