Sounds good. I'm still wondering if or when the 120fps update is coming to the new consoles. I haven't been able to tell by googling it. Quake is so good in this new release though!
This is a game that has to be played on the Nintendo HDR I mean OLED! ☺️
I hope they will release more mods for this game-like the Doom 2016 Mod which looks so incredible.
Still no music fix on Switch? I've been holding off on playing it in the hopes they'd fix that soon. I was really enjoying the game, but it was weird playing it when most chapters had inaudible or super quiet music.
There is no option to reset Input setting, could anyone upload screenshot with default values in this new update? Thanks.
I have LOVED my time with Quake, currently playing New Super Lucky’s Tale and have Dread on the way, but I will definitely go back to Quake. Excellent stuff.
Good to see a good game like this getting such thorough support! It well deserved it!
I love the devs on these Bethesda games like Quake and Doom, just so much TLC! Feel like they hired true fans & ppl that care about their product
Bethesda is amazing! What a nice support!
Loved the Doom ports and will buy this game when it’s a bit lower in price.
Can this be played online without an NSO subscription? If so I'm definitely in.
Deadzone options for control pads? Apparently.
Deadzone options for gyro controls? No mention. But probably not.
As no reviews ever mention dead zones for motion controls at all, I fezzed up and just bought both Duke Nukem and DOOM on Switch. Only to confirm that the motion controls are indeed useless garbage. Likely made by people that don't play with motion controls, and reviewed by people that don't play with motion controls, but what do I know.
Since then, I've decided to just not care about Quake on Switch.
They can add as much as they want to it. I probably wouldn't have a good time playing it in the first place.
@Pod Totally agree, just saw it updated on mine and came to check out what was updated..cried a little on the inside seeing that they didn't bother with fixing the gyro controls. Back to not playing it some more. It's still fun and all but it would actually be the 10/10 it was given here if they bothered to fix the sluggish ass motion controls.
i play doom weekly with 2 of my friends. we were never big into quake but wanted to mix it up a bit
one of us can never join our match, and more annoyingly when we do splitscreen it shows that "no other accounts are valid" or some such.
it legit looks like even for splitscreen you need to pick a player with a PAID copy of the game
for splitscreen.
anyone else have this issue?
Great update like in their Doom games.
@120frames-please
If you love more than 60 fps so much, play on PC. Problem solved. Most PC games have unlocked framerate, so you can even get 1000 FPS in some older games.
@Ventilator
The sky's the limit!
[sky = your monitor's refresh rate]
@VIIIAxel I can confirm the music now plays at an audible volume
@Pod Yep. Monitor to handle it is needed of course.
I was really hoping they’d increase the music volume in the first patch. I’ve been playing with the sfx at half an my tv volume cranked 😅
Can you play team deathmatch on Quake? I was trying to the other day and couldn't figure it out
@RogueSpyke Thanks for the confirmation! Guess I'll be getting back to Quake when I'm not busy with Metroid Dread.
@Ventilator I do play on PC, but Nintendo is my fav developer. They're games are the best, in general, in my opinion. I don't hardly ever use emulators, so I stick with my Switch even though I really wish it could pump out 120fps!
I am just happy that mouse and keyboard is working properly now. Before the keyboard worked but the mouse wouldn’t register. Quake almost demands a mouse and keyboard, especially deathmatch with my PC friends.
@120frames-please Yeah. PC + Switch is my main combo too + Game Pass Ultimate on PC.
120 FPS is a rarity on Series X/PS5 too. Dirt 5 is among the few.
Depending on hardware in next Nintendo console, there might be 120 FPS in Mario Kart and Smash Bros, but not much else.
@Ventilator Yeah, only like 20 games run at 120 on PS5, but on XSX there's around 85 now, I think. It's so awesome that they're implementing fps boost on older games, and that some of them are boosted up to 120fps. Locked 120fps just looks so damn nice.
@120frames-please Yeah. I play most on PC because of 1440p/4K and unlocked framerate. Microsoft have much more focus on things like this. Microsoft had Games with Freesync, Atmos etc. for 4 years, and Sony still had no Atmos games ever with 12-16 sound channel support.
Microsoft just anounced around 100 games with Dolby Vision too.
Sony missed the memo that there is a lot of Home Cinema's worldwide.
For anyone who just glanced over comments:
Mouse and keyboard are now fully supported.
@Kilamanjaro "These devs", their name is "id Software"
@FatPigeon I don't know how to change DM settings on the Switch version, but on PC, team DM is definitely a thing. The changelog even mentions fixing some of the friendly fire bugs.
@Asaki lol I'm sure they have human names and are individuals too XD
@Bermanator Agreed! I'm just also interested in the PS5 and XSX releases. They're supposed to run at 120fps and I really want to see that/play that whenever it releases. I think right now those consoles are still running the PS4/Xbox one versions and are just 60fps.
