It looks like another Mega Man game might be on the way to the Nintendo Switch. It's the action-platformer Android and iOS release Rockman X DiVE, developed by Capcom Taiwan, and released globally on smartphones in select regions earlier this year.
According to Mega Man fansite, Rockman Corner, dataminers have discovered "a series of strings" in the game's client suggesting a Nintendo Switch port of the action-platformer Mega Man X DiVE might be on the way - with references to amiibo and 'NS':
"w_KEY": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_CHT": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_JP": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_ENG": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_THA": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE"
},
{
"w_KEY": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_CHT": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_JP": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_ENG": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_THA": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT"
},
{
"w_KEY": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_CHT": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_JP": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_ENG": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_THA": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY"
This is reportedly the same way the PC and Steam port of Mega Man X DiVE was revealed. As for the reference to amiibo - there's the specific mention of it having "no use", presumably meaning this game won't support Nintendo's NFC figures.
Keep in mind, nothing is official - and for all we know, it could be leftover or unused data. If we hear any developments though, we'll be sure to let you know.

Isn’t this that Mega Man gacha game?
I hope this game comes to Switch. I can't stand virtual keys.
@BloodNinja I played it for little bit, definitely seems like one from what I played. There's 5 stars, weapon upgrades, energy to play levels (i think) and etc.
On one hand, I don't want a free-to-play gacha Megaman X game on the Switch. On the other hand, we need a new Megaman X game on the Switch and this might be the closest we could possibly get at this time
Nothing official to discuss yet indeed, but doesn't seem farfetched - Switch is no stranger to Mega Man OR gacha games, and if it's an action one, it definitely belongs more on platforms like PC and Switch than on something mobile (seriously, industry, if you're marketing effective flip models as "new", why not at least dust off a concept like a [slider] keyboard already?). And I'd definitely give it a roll (no pun intended) on Switch - we seem to be talking the first Mega Man game with playable female characters since what, ZX? Which was one of the precious few in itself.
@Irfann Right, that’s what I thought. Thanks for clarifying.
@StephenYap3 the game app supports controller support. just connect your joycon, pro controller, dualsense and play (after you set it up)
Removed - trolling/baiting
Removed - offensive remarks
I enjoy it for mobile although progress slogs very quickly and they Gacha currency is wayyyy over priced
@Xiovanni it doesn't happen often, but I think it HAS happened on Switch before. Gear Club, I think?
Would be cool to see Elona get a port like this.
@Xiovanni
Shadowverse got ported over mtx free, complete with a retail release too.
@nhSnork
I’m not sure what you’re going on about but it’s more entertaining than this game where you spend hours having tutorials thrown at you until you get the bulk of the game which is being curb stomped every stage so you’ll pay to win to upgrade the thousands of things you can upgrade so you’ll slowly get to the point where a random enemy can’t nearly one shot you then you repeat this process for every level.
Characters mostly amount to reskins and the female ones you want so much have jiggle physics like they came from some Tecmo game.
Mega Man X with microtransactions?! Good Lord.
@SalvorHardin you'll be surprised but the slow grind which gacha freemiums routinely establish as MTX alternatives is the very selling point (if you can apply the term to a game you don't spend a dime on) for JRPG nerds like me. Tutorials spread throughout the game aren't news in the genre either, and neither is the rest. Am I really supposed to be perplexed by "jiggle physics" while simultaneously playing through Endless Frontier, Dead or School and Blue Reflection at this time alone?😄
You really picked a wrong audience to fanmouth the game to.
There is a few mobile and apple arcade games I'd like to see on switch.
Iv actually been playing this a little bit on my phone... its OK... the gotcha stuff sucks but the gameplay seams fine enough... I just like all the megaman content from other games in there one thing I cant stand is the controls though some of the platforming is nire impossible on a phonescrean just don't have the ability to press the right buttons in time ect.
One day we will get another good and proper X game... One day...
Free to play or not, I will take all the Megaman games on my Switch
So coming from Genshin, how in your favor is the gacha system in this game?
I know Genshin has a guarenteed useful character after every bulk roll, making it extremely friendly in the context of an open-world RPG.
But what about this in the context of a level based platformer?
a phone game? No thanks
I've been waiting to try this game for months, glad to hear about it on the switch, but I'm pretty sure if it's coming to the switch, it won't for all regions like the app...
I have a perfect login streak on this game since release, super hype if it's coming to Switch
I love Mega Man, but its still a crappy mobile game. And if I hafta pay for randomized crap, forget it!
I'll just wait for another new game, or collection that strikes my fancy.
I played this game and it’s pretty fun. (Though I just like mobile games in general)
@Mando44646 Mobile ports aren’t always bad. Horizon Chase Turbo, for example. Man, that game rules.
This is what I wish Nintendo would do with Dragalia Lost.
In fact, when will CyGames make a Dragalia Lonshin Impact??
I'm honestly surprised Capcom hasn't just made Megaman X9 already.
A new 3D Mega Man or Mega Man RPG are long overdue and would be much appreciated.
Mega Man Legends & X Command Mission were underrated.
... Wun can only hope.
I like X Dive. I don't support gaccha mechanics. I do support fully paying for a game upfront, and being given the full game.
@OldManHermit has to do with the creators not both being on board. We were lucky to get megaman 11
Enough of these collections and spinoffs, it's time for a proper Mega Man X9 already. Also, bring back Battle Network, that series is too good to stay dead so long.
I'd rather see X: Command Mission get a remaster and port to Steam/Switch. Loved the playthroughs of that on YT.
I also watched the old Mega Man cartoon on a site I'm not sure I can mention here. It was really nice; and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I especially loved it when the young Super Fighting Robot met his older Maverick Hunter counterpart, X.
