It was back in August that Square Enix and the development team confirmed that Life Is Strange: True Colors was running "a little late" on Switch, but was still targeting a 2021 arrival. It's since arrived on other platforms and has been rather well received; you certainly don't need to look far on streaming platforms to still find plenty of people watching and playing the game.
The good news is that the wait on Switch is drawing to a close, for the eShop version at least. An update has confirmed that it's due in 'early December', with a date to be confirmed when everything's finalised and digital pre-orders are live.
At the time of writing there's been no update on the physical retail version, which is expected and has listings across various stores. It's entirely possible that the final tweaks in development combined with manufacturing and distribution means it'll come to stores at a later date; we'll keep an eye out for updates.
If you're thinking of downloading it though, this is certainly good news. It's also confirmed that the screen in the tweet is the Switch version, though we'll have to wait and see how the port shapes up.
Are you planning to pick this up in December?

Glad more people will get to play this wonderful game. Not sure how much different the Switch version will look from PS5, but regardless this one is worth a play.
So they were able to get this running on the Switch, but Kingdom Hearts fans have to settle for a cloud version?
I have the physical version on PS4, and the game is fantastic. The writing is very well polished, and the choices actually feel like they have some weight to them. The characters are also very multifaceted and don't feel one-dimensional or wooden, which makes things feel more engaging.
It's a damn good game, and hopefully Switch will receive a physical release of it.
I hear this game really makes you FEEL like you’re
Spider-ManKate Gray.Hope the Crab News Thursday DLC is included in this version.
Really intriged by this game, glad its coming this year
I will wait on performance reviews but I should pick it up within the first six months.
Digital - The only way I go .
Although when I moved to Switch OLED had to redownload over 700GB of data XD.
@YusseiWarrior3000 thank god it isn’t a cloud version all right. Back at E3, it was mentioned the Switch will get a native version of True Colors.
For now it is digital only, but hey it is 100 times better than a cloud version
Good stuff. Looking forward to it.
I played it already on Stadia and was really impressed by the story and how infatuated I was with its universe. They put alot of effort into making most choices in the game feel right regardless of which way you go. It’s a bit expensive though and its shorter than the other Life Is Strange games. Still, it’s good to finally see this series come to Switch.
Played through on Stadia, really cool game, I'd never really played a narrative led game like this before, really felt like I could relax, take my time and explore all options. Voice acting is top notch. Led me to try Oxenfree on Switch after that, another excellent game.
@KayFiOS also able to port dying light to switch, square Enix is just lazy. I hope no one support cloud gaming on switch.
@CharlieGirl Is the ending less sad than LIS1?
For my heart 🥺
@kducky11 What kind of LiS fangirl would I be if I just dropped spoilers?
The only thing I'll say is, things are less grim than the first game.
@CharlieGirl The first game wasn't so grim when you put it next to the second. Man, that game went dark and never came back up for air.
I'll get the physical version when it comes out along with a physical version of the Remastered Collection
@CharlieGirl ok that’s all I need to know 😅
Digital only? Then I'll pass. I'll pick up a physical copy for PS5 instead when the price drops. Hopefully the Remastered Collection has a physical release for Switch, if not then PS5 it is for that version too...
@somnambulance the screenshot is from the Switch version. It actually looks pretty good imo but we will have to wait and see ofc
