We used to see all sorts of wonderful Game Builder Garage creations when the game first launched earlier this summer, and while that initial excitement seems to have settled down a little recently, here's a quick reminder of just how great the game creation tool can really be.
Brazilian game developer André Cardoso has been hard at work recreating several minigames from Super Mario Party inside Game Builder Garage. The games Sizzling Stakes, Bopping Spree, and Fuzzy Flight School are the chosen few, and despite Game Builder Garage's limitations, Cardoso has managed to make them look – and work – amazingly close to the real things.
A video covering all three recreations, showing both gameplay and quick recaps of how each game was made, can be found on André's Mix and Jam YouTube channel. Check it out:
If you want to play them for yourself, here are the links you need for each level:
These certainly put our creations to shame. Great work, André!

Wow! It never ceases to amaze me just how talented some people are!!
Time to recreate Pedal Power, so that players around the world can recreate those searing blisters!
Is it really talent just to copy something that already exists? Wouldn't the real talent lie with the people that created the original?
And speaking of original, does anyone even use this thing to create their own stuff? Or is NintendoLife only interested in the players that can't come up with their own ideas?
@DoomTurtle Who spat on your porridge?
@MrFred89 I'm just trying to understand why unoriginality is getting praise around here. The only articles I've seen about this game are ones where people just recreated other games.
Where's all the awesome things people came up with on their own?

But yeah, I'd prefer more focus on original creations.
@DoomTurtle
From my perspective (I work as an app developer) this sort of imitation in the early stages of the game builder is very valuable. People are basically probing what can be done and what are the limits of the software, without having to come up with a gameplay idea, which can significantly cut development time.
But I do agree that it would be nice to see more fresh ideas in the future, instead of "X recreated Y on Game Builder Garage". Same thing with Playstation's Dreams - I really don't care about about recreations at this point of the software's lifecycle.
@Zverik @DoomTurtle Agreed, but GBG is very limited, so it is still very impressive to see these recreations.
I took the idea of Joust, but made it my own game and made it work within GBG limitations. You gain a point for every enemy you smash, but lose a point for every one you miss. You are trying to get 99 points. Y button and Left stick for controls.

Tasty AND educational!
@DoomTurtle Programming is an art in and of itself. Besides understanding how something works, in this case the creator had to work around the limitations of Game Builder Garage to come up with some creative solutions of how to implement the gameplay. So yeah, I would say this is talent, just a different kind of talent.
That's a fun and interesting topic! "Game Builder Garage" is a Nintendo platform that allows users to create their own games through a visual programming interface. Users can design and share games, making it a great tool for aspiring game developers and those looking for a creative outlet without needing deep programming knowledge. https://demoslotgratisan.com/
