Ahead of tomorrow's official launch, you can now preload Pokémon Unite from the Nintendo Switch eShop.
This is a new free-to-play pocket monster-themed MOBA from Tencent and The Pokémon Company. The download will take up around 928 MB of space on your Switch, and includes cross-play functionality with the mobile version (when it's released) and in-game purchases.
If you need an extra incentive, just last week The Pokémon Company company revealed it would be giving out the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora to players who log into the game before 31st August.
The mobile version of Pokémon Unite will follow the Nintendo Switch release in September. Will you be giving the Switch version a go? Leave a comment down below.

Still not supporting tencent. Don't take China's money, it isn't worth it
Can't wait, I'm loading right now!
Nah, don't think it's worth it honestly.
Had fun with the Canadian beta, but this game is only fun in short bursts. Because it's F2P, I'm going to drop off of this game pretty fast.
I feel like this game gets a little overcriticized JUST because of Tencent's influence on the games industry and their alleged ties to the Chinese government. Come on, game ≠ developer.
@Aerona where do you think Nintendo consoles and carts are manufactured?
@ModdedInkling But by supporting the game, you're supporting the developer of the game.. which is why people aren't supporting the game.
Even tho I hate tecent, I love pokemon and mobas, As long as I don't buy anything (Bc like hell i'm giving them my money) I'm good, I think every one should at least give it a shot if you love mobas, If not this is probably not worth your time, I'm maining gengar and greninja.
@VoidofLight I don't think it counts to much if I don't buy anything. bc from what I heard the game is actually fun to play.
@faint ... This is a tough one. Can I ask chat for help?
@N8tiveT3ch LMAO.
@Snatcher Eh, I rather not have it on my machine, since I don't wanna be effected by security issues they have.
I swear to god if yasuo appears in this game to I’m gonna lose it
@CheekyZelda He has cleverly disguised himself as Pikachu.
@Aerona
Lol every part of your switch device is made in china.
Look at the back of your switch.
@The-Chosen-one Box of a game: "Made in Japan".
So not "every part". And made in China mostly means that someone in a Chinese factory assembled the device. They didn't design it. And most likely they didn't make the parts either.
For as far as I know Tencent also has stakes in EA, Ubisoft, Platinum Games and quite some more gaming companies.
Also has a deal with Nintendo themselfs for selling Switch consoles in China.
Really curious how many people disliking Tencent still buy from those companies or you know still game at all.
Instant download. Hopefully its a good One 😊
@Snatcher Well, by playing you are increasing the player count and players are more likely to purchase items in an active game so you indirectly support them. That said, I wish people had such a strong moral compass in the real life as they have for video games ...
@MajinSoul Isn't this a real life moral choice? To avoid buying or supporting products made by shady companies? I think it is.
@Hinade Tencent does deal with Nintendo, but only for the Chinese market, so it's not effecting the other markets around the world. They only really did that so that they can sell their consoles in China, given consoles were banned due to government rule.
I usually don't buy from Ubisoft or EA, and Platinum is probably my only exception, but even then they're just stock-holders, and they don't own the companies, or have a huge hand in how the games are made.
Now games like Pokemon Unite is made directly by them, and I don't trust it. I also don't trust all the companies they bought out, and how they're slowly trying to consume the entire technology industry.
@MajinSoul Ture but I kinda hate having to feel like crap just bc I want to play a pokemon moba, it isn't even about tecent, I'm really hoping its more nintendo and not tencent.
Well if you play fortnite you are supporting tencent, Its almost impossible not to deal with them at this point but then again this is a totally different deal.
It's FREE, and it's a pokemon moba... wtf are people complaining about
companies = good
chinese companies = bad
the reality is that none of them are your friends and don't care about you, they just want your money
@PapaSmurfCDMCMD The issue is that Tencent made it, and lets just say they did some really uh, messed up things.
Will try it out then uninstall when done, only good free to play game on Switch now is Ninjala and the best free to play game that was on Switch was Dawn of the Breakers and that's a fact
@SonOfVon Companies want money. Yes. That's why they are companies. They are required to make profit or they will go out of buisness.
Chinese companies are either owned or controlled by the Chinese gouvernment and / or millitary. That is what is different here.
@Snatcher Messed up things, sure. But that's almost literally every company, at least every large company. And spying on people? Yeah... that's also not a Chinese thing exclusively.
@sanderev And in America, the government is owned by the companies. It's honestly not even that different. Sure, China probably does more and shadier stuff, but let's not kid ourselves in thinking our own countries aren't ruled by egotistical moneygrubbing dirtbags.
@Daniel36 you do speak truth sure, and for that you have my respect.
@mantarobuster300 man its today for you? lucky.
Reading this at work while eating my Chinese food for lunch. Typing on my Xiaomi phone. Waiting to go home and play Zelda on my Nintendo which is made in China.
This comment section is on fire, huh? Anyways, just downloaded mine! Excited to play tomorrow!
nah, don't want the Chinese government on my devices or to have my details. Thanks though
I've struggled to get into mobas such as smite and LoL wild rift so hopefully this one will be easier to get into
Never been a fan of MOBAS, but I definitively will give this a chance. Hey, it is free!
It is funny how many people here are saying they won´t be downloading just because of the China factor. Yeah, everything coming from China is evil and the rest of the companies want the best for the world....
@Snatcher And you have my thanks for that.
@VoidofLight Affect, not effect. Effect is the product of affect. Just trying to help. Not a total nazi about it or anything.
@UltimateOtaku91 It should be, If your having a hard time getting into mobas, first I think you should find a role that suits you.
@ModdedInkling The CCP controls all. The CCP made Jack Ma disappear awhile. It’s not like in the states where company’s rule the government. In China it’s literally the other way around.
@Andresnav
The very fact that we're worried about China, when our governments clearly don't give a damn and keep feeding the Chinese government money through cheap labour and trade, is the reason I don't think it's worth getting into all this sociopolitical crap.
