In a spot of good news for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit collectors, several Spirits that were previously exclusive to events are now available permanently, for everyone, in-game.
As of yesterday, you'll see the Monster Hunter Rise Magnamalo, Palamute, and Palico Spirits, as well as the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Fury Bowser, Giga Cat Mario, and Kittens Spirits, on the Spirit Boards or the Store.
The Monster Hunter Rise Spirits first appeared during a five-day event back in April, while the Bowser's Fury Spirits were first released the following week in a similar event. If you missed them back then, now's your chance!
In other Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news, it was also revealed that a set of brand new Spirits based on Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will be heading to the game very soon indeed.
Thanks to Greatsong for the tip!

@DiamondJim There's only one more DLC Fighter.
And I am not sick, I wish this game had one more Fighter Pass, even if Sakurai doesn't want to make one, make one without him because he needs to retire someday.
@DiamondJim I mean you don’t have to click on articles about smash if it bothers you that much.
just give us the persona and ghouls and goblins spirits god damn it
@megallade They were already added a while ago!
Eventually Smash Bros will get its final update, presumably not long after the final DLC fighter, and that'll be the end of promotional spirits.
I'll get back into the game at that time so I can do everything that's left. Spirit battles are honestly pretty fun, even if you no longer really need the spirits themselves.
Good. My spirit list is complete again and all is right in the world. For now.
Good, I usually miss those during their temporary event
I was wondering why when I played the Spirit Board yesterday, those Monster Hunter spirits were present. I was ecstatic. Now I currently have every single available spirit.
I had miss those Monster Hunter ones as I don't have/want the game just to get those spirits, it makes no sense why Sakurai couldn't just release Sprits on the Spirit Board one week after they are exclusively timed to appear, then disappear until an update for the rolls out. Seeing some blank spots in the List of Spirits drives me crazy thinking I might never 100% the game now. Thanks, Sakurai. Now can we get future Spirits to stay permanent after their exclusive events please
I've never personally liked timed content when it comes to anything that's accessed in-game. I realize the motive behind it: to keep gamers playing YOUR game, but great games can do that without "miss it and it's gone forever" hooks.
To be honest, there are just way too many games and too many backlogs out there jockeying for attention not to lose interest in timed events and/or content; often it's an issue just to keep up with such things, let alone make time when your schedule is packed. I have no problem at all with timed events or promotions whose content is permanently accessible afterward through gameplay when a given player gets around to it. But like so many other modern, online-era business models, content that vanishes after a certain period just isn't consumer friendly.
@AtlanteanMan But the spirits are not gone forever, they are gone for a few months and then permanently added to the game.
@Tobiaku Thanks for sharing; I hope that's the case, but are you certain, and is it for ALL the Spirits and so on or just specific ones?
@AtlanteanMan While I can't say 100% certain, I would guess yes. I have seen a lot of them randomly on the spirit board afterwards among spirits from the base game.
