The Wonderful 101: Remastered's promised Time Attack DLC mode is launching for Switch, PS4, and Steam today, PlatinumGames has confirmed.
The DLC was initially announced as a stretch goal for the game's Kickstarter campaign back in February 2020, alongside 'Luka's First Mission', a new side-scrolling adventure. The team at PlatinumGames shared a message to backers today to inform them of the new DLC release and to apologise for the wait.
"From all of us here at PlatinumGames, sorry to have kept you waiting!
The time has finally come for us to release the additional Time Attack mode DLC promised as one of the stretch goals reached during the Kickstarter campaign and made possible by all of you wonderful backers.
This new game mode lets you try a speedrun of any stage you choose and compare your times online against players from around the world. And in order to make the experience even smoother, we’ve added a feature that automatically skips minor cut scenes! This makes it easier for you to experience the pure action of the game and hone your skills while improving your times.
Every second counts when the world is on the line, heroes! And for those of you who have already beaten The Wonderful 101: Remastered, a new challenging world awaits."
To celebrate the DLC's release and the one-year anniversary of the game's launch, Hideki Kamiya will soon feature in a livestream, playing the new Time Attack mode on air and sharing "new information" on the game. The stream will kick off at 8pm Pacific / 11pm Eastern on 19th June, and can be viewed below.
Will you be giving the new Time Attack mode a try? And will you tune in to the livestream later this week? Tell us below.

I'll have to give this a shot, I've yet to put much time in on the Switch version. Definitely not Platinum's best game, but I loved how distinct it felt from the other action games they produce.
Good game, finished it last year after abandoning it on the Wii U. Not an all-time classic but above-average and with a good sense of fun re the characters and story.
Absolute shambles of a Kickstarter.
@The_Pixel_King as a backer I've not been sent been sent a dlc code (yet) so I'd assume available to all.
I loved this game on WiiU and it’s an absolute amazing creativity-filled action packed game. It’s a shame that I feel like I see the genius of it and not many people do the same. :/
The Kickstarter had some minor inconveniences, just had to wait more than usual for it to arrive. But since the backlog is always there I didn’t care.
I don’t care about a Time Attack, I’m surprised it took them this long to release that. I’m more interested in that Luka plataformer-spin-off DLC.
@fafonio As a backer of the Kickstarter I personally have not had major issues with it. Just had to wait longer for things to arrive like you said. My guess for the delay for the DLC would be the government lock-downs.
I have heard problems for the European backers, like unexpected fees, missing packages etc.
@Tourtus I mean, I live in shipment-rules-third-world-country Mexico and I didn’t get any extra fees.
Which is surprising in this god-forsaken land where any international shipment doesn’t seem to include Mexico.
So, I really think people make the Kickstarter seem like a disaster, where you only had to wait a bit more for your stuff.
And I’m patient because there’s so much stuff to play in the meantime.
Anyway, amazing game, I love it since it came out on WiiU.
Maybe I’m dense but as a backer should I be looking out for an email with a code to download my dlc? How is this working?
