Konami and Mediatonic have announced they're joining up for a special crossover in Super Bomberman R Online.
From today, all Super Bomberman R Online players can claim an exclusive “Bean Bomber” character at no additional cost. The character is available on all platforms until further notice.
It's a two-way deal, too – a Bomberman costume will be available in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout from June 4th, costing 10 Crowns.
Super Bomberman R Online is a special version of the original Super Bomberman R, which launched on Switch back in 2017. It's out today and is free to download.

Fall Guys is also Switch-bound, but the anticipated summer release has been delayed, and we don't currently know when it's coming.

I had no idea an online Bomberman was coming, let alone releasing today. Superb!
Had a quick game there, brilliant stuff!
I'll give it a try today, but is it a standalone "battle royale" version, or just a freemium take on the content you can also access with Super Bomberman R once you get it (I've been repeatedly that close to pulling the trigger myself, but other concurrent offers took priority)? "A free version of" gives me Galak-Z Variant S vibes, that game was fun but pretty much retired from my backlogs once the retail Galak-Z came out.
@nhSnork It's a special 64 player Battle Royale version.
Just had a game there before work. It's good fun but the load time to get into a match is really long. I remember the WiiWare version took ages to get into a match as well. I tolerated it then but I'm not sure I will this time. Hopefully it'll improve over time.

@OorWullie this somehow slipped under the radar. I didn't know about this until today. Played bomberman a lot on the snes but have not played any games in the series after that one. Gonna give it a go right now!
@OorWullie @TryToBeHopeful talk about getting conflicting answers.😅 But thanks anyway. Alas, having to wait for other players is pretty much why I fail to stick around purely online multiplayer titles (even Paladins which hooked me for almost ten hours total). Except for the gigabyte-sized Tetris 99 and I launch even that one mostly for event themes.
