To promote the upcoming Nintendo Switch release New Pokémon Snap, Niantic's augmented reality mobile game Pokémon GO will be hosting a special event inspired by the photography-focused game set in the Lental region. It'll run from 29th April until 2nd May.
As a bonus, there'll also be a new camera avatar item and camera-themed gift sticker, as well as a Shiny Smeargle up for grabs - which is making its GO debut.
"Pokémon inspired by different habitats in the Lental region will be appearing more often in the wild and in raids, a new avatar item and sticker will be available, and Shiny Smeargle will be making its Pokémon GO debut!"
Trainers can expect to encounter pocket monsters from desert, jungle and underwater environments. So be on the lookout for Pokémon such as Lotad, Cacnea and Ducklett, and in raids, there'll be ones like Vaporeon, Meganium and Trapinch. While the Shiny Smeargle will no longer appear after this event, it may be included in a future one.
You'll also be able to share your snapshots using the social media tag #GOsnapshot. Will you be participating in this upcoming GO event? Are you looking forward to the new Snap game on Switch? Leave a comment down below.
