Warframe Gets An Update As Operation: Orphix Venom Arrives On Switch

I'm never going to get over the fact that this game is on the switch.

@Snatcher and this and updates delays are relatively small it feels because the Switch gets this operation barely one month after it started on PC and just as it ends on that other platform.

And performances are pretty surprising when I play. Regular missions I will see generally good performances both in single and multiplayer and it's really just in multiplayer open world missions that i really noticed weird performances(and in starting to consider getting a LAN adapter because some of the stuff I wonder sometimes if they're just my internet connection being over wifi).

I sunk about 600 hours of gameplay into Warframe, playing about 15 hours a week.

It's an impressive game. The loot is attainable, and i managed to do it all on a free account.

That being said having someone guide you through the game and having someone to play with boosts the enjoyment of the game by like 100%

Sounds like you’re the perfect person to ask then. So in a nut shell I was an avid Destiny player for 5yrs straight. As I told my wife, it stole my soul. lol. I played daily until our 2 kids arrived. It’s no longer possible to keep up so I quit. Destiny is no longer a game that you can play casually (if) you care to keep up with the others.

I played Warframe on and off last year but stopped cause I was so confused with what the heck was going on. There’s a lot more going on for upgrades, etc. that confused the heck outta me. Destiny has materials to collect to but it’s nowhere near as complex as Warframe’s.

Can you explain to me on what I’m missing? Do I just need to dive back in and it will make sense over time, or what? I’d love to get into it, but I was put off by how confusing things seemed. I was pretty much just mindlessly playing mission to mission not knowing what else I should be doing so I know I was missing out on necessary things. Thank you! @pixelpatch

Not played this for so long I fear the update would fill my memory card. looks pretty amazing though.

1900 hours and still playing.. my wife joined in later and she's at 1440 hours by now. @CTmatic, can say the same you say about Destiny about Warframe, stole my soul. for me part of attractiveness of Warframe is trying to figure out each mechanism added to the game and that the game definitely doesnt lead you by the hand. instead, every now and then slaps players in the face with a new complex addition.. but yeah each upgrade makes sense if you spend some time to figure it out.
in the end, however, yes its also about collecting materials, crafting, and neverending grind.

Hopefully the update won't be too big. 😄 But I'm not sure if I'll even be viable for a second invasion-related event (I'm only past The War Within), and I'm considering a pause in my attendance after this week's Nightwave 3 expiry anyway. Boy, is the game in for a final catalyst splurge from me (I didn't find much else to spend the creds on since I'm not into cosmetics).😎

@CTmatic the mileage may vary, but my own 500 hour experience so far has been "it'll make sense over time, but visiting the wiki here and there definitely won't hurt". Don't expect to get everything at once (or EVER, especially since the game will gradually unlock a whole lot more systems as you progress), but don't feel intimidated by it either. I haven't paid much mind to a lot of stuff and still been having fun. It's a stylish action grindfest (in the most complimenting sense, but I'm biased towards grindfests) with a unique fictionverse and increasingly thrilling lore under the hood - and support for more than one playstyle, too. If that sounds like your cup of tea, do come back. Not that you've even been missing too much - most of the events and Nightwave awards seem to be pretty recurrent, and your login counter always resumes upon return, with no hiatus resets or interruptions.

I almost gave this a honest shot when it released on Switch but I was already so deep into Monster Hunter GU I just couldn't spare the time. I really enjoy having that "main" game to play and everything else comes and goes on the side but the downside is I can only manage one main game at a time. Otherwise my anxiety goes through the roof. Now with Rise around the corner and MHGU is still my main this one won't get a proper chance even though its free. Oh well.

@CTmatic I got you, 5 easy things to make the game a LOT easier

1. Pick 3 things you want (a new warframe/armor, a new weapon, or more damage)and then focus on finding out how to obtain / build those things.

2. If its a warframe you'll need to find out which planet drops those pieces (every planet has 1 boss that drops all the pieces)

If its a weapons you will need to find out which planet drops the resources (wiki)

3. Play through the star chart (main campaign) with a friend or consulting wiki as you go along, this will open up more options.

4. When you hit a wall start powering up using mods (again youtube is the best part) these are upgrades that you can slot into your armor and weapons and boost damage from like 20dmg per shot to 3000+

5. When you hit a wall doing the previous 4 you need to sell some of the popular items to other players for platinum and buy items that double the amount of mods you can put on an item.

6. Thats pretty much it, pick what you want out of the game, find out how to get that thing and then start working your way towards it, but do it in small chunks.

Nice. Yeah I mean I’ve played maybe 10-15hrs but it was a long time ago. Ever since I quit Destiny I’ve been looking for it’s replacement. During my peak Destiny days I always saw threads on various sites saying Warframe is better than Destiny, then Destiny fans would counter. Basically a back and forth blood bath. Lol. I do prefer FPS versus 3rd person but that’s no issue for me. @pixelpatch

My experience with Warframe as a new player: It's pretty hard to go solo. So you either don't find anyone on the easier levels and can't play it, or you get help from a veteran player and just afk while they do everything.

@CTmatic It just seems like a weird argument point for those players. The games are pretty different and ive played and enjoyed both. But i feel each game has their strenght.
