Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart of the Forest has scored an early 2021 launch on Nintendo Switch, it's been confirmed.

Inspired by the fan-favourite tabletop RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Heart of the Forest launched on Steam just a couple of months ago to 'very positive' user reviews. It's said to be a "beautifully written, deep, and balanced adventure game" that takes cues from the tabletop game fans already know and love.

This new Switch version will include "the full experience" and boasts new controls that have been tailored specifically with the console in mind. A demo and the option to pre-order (with 10% off) both go live on the eShop today, 22nd December.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart of the Forest throws you deep into a primeval wilderness in the center of modern Europe. It’s where the protectors of nature wage their ancient, neverending war against the forces of destruction.

You play as Maia, who comes to Poland hoping to trace her family roots. Trying to learn more about her ancestry, she will discover her family’s dark secrets and reveal hidden truths about the last wilderness of Central Europe.

Visit real-world places of mystery and power. Explore local legends and traditions. Discover the fascinating world and history of the Polish-Belarusian borderlands. You will witness how nature clashes with technology and greed. Can it survive without our help?

If you happen to already own Liberated, Liberated: Enhanced Edition, or NecroWorm, you'll also be able to benefit from an additional discount at checkout. Make sure to keep an eye out for that if you do happen to have one of those titles in your library.

As for Heart of the Forest's full Switch release? It'll launch on 7th January.
