Baltoro Games has announced that S.N.I.P.E.R. Hunter Scope will be firing onto a Nintendo Switch near you next week.
The game is a Switch-exclusive on-rails shooter inspired by the likes of Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, Crisis Zone and all your favourite Horde Mode games, boasting more than 15 stages, 30 weapons, and 60 achievements to unlock:
Play S.N.I.P.E.R., the latest sniping game where you aim, fight and destroy virtual enemies. Try different types of missions, inspired both by classic rail shooters and modern cover shooters. Fight your way out during day and night, destroy evil forces and unlock new weapons and power-ups.
It's launching on 20th November in North America and Europe. We're still waiting on the game's eShop price, but it's already been announced that Switch owners can claim the game for free if they already own either Urban Flow or Paratopic. The offer's valid up until 19th December, so even if you don't own one of those games, you could buy one and get this new title for free.
Do you happen to already own either of those games? Will you be taking up the offer to claim this new one for free? Let us know in the comments.

None of the prerequisites owned here (unlike in the case of Eyes recently, but I plain lacked my Switch in the period the game was free-x-if-you-own-y). Paratopic is on sale through the 22nd, but there are other sale items that will likely beat it to my collection, so Sniper Hunter Scope will ultimately have to wait for better times as well.
I have Paratropic and love light gun games. Hopefully this is at least decent.
@ryancraddock NL ever have an article about todays free game "Zombie Blast Crew". Free from the usual QubikGames if you own another Qubik game. In my case Space Pioneer. Looks like top down twin stick. I'll give it a go for free, would play it for sure it if had couch co-op. But free so...
Normally $9.99, listed on sale for $4.99, maybe a launch discount?

Looks like mobile game trash.
It's 2020 and people are still making silent scope clones. This game looks derivative and all those star based challenges make it look mobile in every way.
@rjejr thanks for the heads up. “Zombie Blast Crew" is not showing up free for me though. Is there a list of games to own to get it for free? I’m 99% sure I have one of their prior games.
I have the highly decent game Urban Flow. So I'll give this a whirl obviously
Nice to get a Freeby, I picked up paratopic based on the NL review, I've yet to get around to it though!
@rjejr cheers for that! Just set it to download! please let us all know if you spot something like that again in the future, there's a thread in the forum for sharing info, it says US eshop but anything gets posted there even if it is contingent on owning another game https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/psa_free_games_right_now_on_us_eshop?start=40
@AG_Awesome it says 100% off if you own space pioneer on the product page, I think that was given out in a previous promotion
@ralphdibny Got it. It was that I didn’t have the space pioneer game (only one I missed during their last freebie spree). Got it for 2 bucks and then zombie for free. Thanks!!
@ralphdibny Your welcome, and thanks. I tend to steer clear of the forum rabbit hole b/c I know too many people in there and I'm afraid if I go in there I'll never get out. Like all my time spent doomscrolling on twitter.
@AG_Awesome Haven't seen a list, sorry. Saw it in the eShop News section b/c it says I have Space Pioneer, which was the last game in last years 10 games of Christmas giveaway.

@rjejr ah fair enough! Yeah I think i spend too much time on these sites but NL, PS and PX are basically the only websites I go to these days!
“In game purchases” ≠ “free”
@ralphdibny I've spent WAY WAY WAY too much time over the past 12 years commenting on NL.
Cool avatar btw, just noticed it. I'm not a huge Dibney fan and I'm not getting into the whole "cancel culture" thing over him but it's still nice. 👍
@PoundShopOrwell Hi there! Only in-game purchase is DLC with new stages and weapons! ESBR just states any DLC as in-game purchase.
Peter
@rjejr cheers for that! Yeah he is my favourite character in the flash show so I'm gutted he won't be back, they'll have to get somebody equally as funny or heartwarming for the next season to lighten the tone enough for me to keep watching.
@ralphdibny "...to lighten the tone enough for me to keep watching."
Yeah I'm done. Once I read they never got to film the last 2 episodes last season b/c of COVID I stopped watching right there and then. Mirror lady wasn't doing it for me either. Hard to follow up multiverse destruction on any show. I'll keep watching LoT b/c it's the funniest show on TV and they've distanced themselves enough. I like LoT so much I just started watching Prison Break this week. 7 episodes in, really good. There's other things to watch, 1 of these days I may even watch Mandolorian.
@rjejr flash quickly became my least favourite show and Dibbers and Sue were the only ones really holding it up for me. LoT is just brilliant though and with Supergirl coming to an end there's not much going for the Arrowverse at the moment apart from LoT, I've been considering prison break too because Wentworth Miller is so good as Captain Cold!
@ralphdibny He's like a young Captain Cold in Prison Break but Mick isn't really a young Mick, he's way too nice and smart. Though that's only 7 episodes in. But it's a quick fast paced non-stop show so I recommend it so far. Watching it on Hulu w/ no commercials, well worth the $12 for the 22 episodes. I've read no reason to watch seasons 2, 3 or 4. (Also Cloak & Dagger which is better than it should be since I'm like 40 years older than the obvious demographic for teen dramas.)
@rjejr nice, surely he doesn't use his nasal comic booky captain cold voice though? I think prison break is on Netflix over here in the UK. cloak and dagger is really good too but I've only seen the first season, I definitely prefer the runaways out of the two teen marvel shows though! It definitely feels weird being an older fan into the teen shows but I guess it's OK because it's marvel and was tangentially related to the MCU, at least it was before they canned all the Netflix and Hulu stuff in favour of their movie spin offs
@ralphdibny My son watched either The Runaways or The Gifted and told me not to bother so I haven't seen either. I'd really like to watch Legion but never find the time. I'm halfway thru season 2 of Preacher which is comic based but not superhero. I watched all of the MCU shows on Netflix and they were varying degrees of good but it is a shame they just kind of ended. We also watch Titans and Doom Patrol on DC. That's basically all we watch I guess, comic book related tv. Oh and sci-fi stuff, Star Trek and The Expanse. I read Westworld season 4 may be on in 2023 but I'll forget all of season 3 by then. TV shows were already weird w/ their 10 episodes once a year, like everything is Dr. Who now, but the pandemic is making everything worse. Strange times. (Not to be confused w/ Stranger Things which we've never got around to watching either.)
@rjejr haha nice, I've never watched stranger things either. Was kinda waiting for a scary feeling night to watch it but never got around to it.
There's a star trek thread over on PushSquare called Ten Forward it you ever want to chat Trek! I'm currently doing a chronological rewatch which means I won't get to discovery season 3 until after I've watched Picard (which I also haven't seen yet) and I'm halfway through TOS so it'll be a while before I join in on any convos to do with those two shows.
Doom Patrol was wicked, one of the best DC shows I thought though I haven't seen season 2 yet. Titans is a bit of a mixed bag but mostly enjoyable, Donna is my favourite character so we will see how that goes in season 3!
My favourite seasons of Netflix are Jessica Jones 1, Iron First 2, Luke Cage 2, both Punishers and most of Daredevil (I think JJ season 1 was the best out of that lot though - I have an old friend who's no longer my friend who is a lot like the purple man in his persuasive manipulation so it really resonated with me)
The Gifted is good if you have a nostalgia for turn of the millennium young adult TV shows like The Tribe or Dark Angel, in fact i'd say it was a cross between the two in style and execution, but I really like it despite how dated it feels.
The Runaways is seriously fun off the wall sci fi with fun characters and one of my favourite theme tunes. Might be a shame to miss out on it without checking it out for yourself but i personally think it is one of the best Marvel shows that's been on!
Oh yeah I forgot to say that Legion is excellent but takes some mental fortitude to get through. It's well worth it though
@ralphdibny Thanks for all of that. I'm all about the mental fortitude, could do with a bit of distraction from the real world, so I'll get on Legion if Hulu offers me another Black Friday sale. I had 99c a month 2 years ago for 12 months and $1.99 this past year. Which expires Black Friday. They've bene pushing that Disney+ deal but I'm not interested in ESPN+ so no savings for me there.
Probably will never get to much else on my back list. Next up we have His Dark Materials season 2 on HBO, forgot about that one as I'm not really into it but we watch a lot of tv as a family and it's hard to get 4 people to agree on things. And now that I finished The Witcher 3 after 120 hours I need to sign up for Netflix and watch the show.
Did you see "The Passage" on Fox? It had great 9 episodes, like it was supposed to be a 22 episode season, then episode 10 they just found out they had no budget left so they did 13 episodes worth of stories in 1. Great show, but I'm still mad how it ended.
And I'm sill looking for "Lost Girl" which I had on my list for Netflix but it disappeared back to Canada or something, can't find it streaming anywhere. Someday maybe.
@rjejr haha I think coronavirus will be the last of your worries after watching legion! All the streaming services are so confusing and expensive over here compared to normal TV in the old days. We basically have to pay a TV license for "free" TV anyway which gets a load of channels but we could pay extra for Sky or some other satellite/cable service (though I think satellite was the preferred method here, I don't think cable had that much uptake when it came out). In comparison, Prime, Netflix, Disney+, NowTV (a purely streamed version of Sky) as well as the TV license which is required for watching anything "live" on any streaming service costs a bomb. It is possible to not pay the TV license but I understand that the BBC sends their contracted heavies around your house to root through your mail and force entry to catch you in the act of watching live TV, well according to YouTube videos anyway lol
Nah I haven't seen The Passage, that reminds me of another old show I watched for the first time recently called harsh realm that basically got canned while they were filming their 9th episode and all the cast and crew found out but finished the episode like pros anyway.
I mainly only get time for superhero stuff these days but only because they make so much of it. I did watch Westworld though because it was brilliant and I love the movie. We also rewatched X Files, Millennium and The Lone Gunmen during lock down (Harsh Realm was part of this marathon because it is very loosely linked to those three series).
Otherwise I normally end up watching random shows/movies at night on my phone to help me get to sleep. I watched Space force and the first series of Dark Side of the Ring like that recently. I might start watching the Sopranos all the way through for the first time soon because I recently rewatched Analyse This and Analyse That and some bits of it reminded me of what I had seen of The Sopranos so I might give it a go
@ralphdibny I marathoned Sopranos years back. I'm an Italian New Yorker and I felt like the only person in my entire family who hadn't seen it. It was ok. I'm a harsh critic. I watched Sons of Anarchy after that and personally I think SOA blows Sopranos away. Though it is so dark I kinda wished I had only watched like an episode a week rather than 4 or 5 a day, brutal on my psyche.
Never heard of Harsh Realm. I didn't watch Swamp Thing b/c that's another show that seemed to get canceled while they were filming season 1 so I didn't see the point. For awhile my wife and I watched a string of shows that all seemed to be canceled the end of season 1 right when they were getting good - Journeyman, The Event, Flashforward. So now I try to only watch shows that finished, like Prison Break. Justified was great but that has nothing to do with superheroes, I watched it b/c I liked Timothy Olyiphant in Deadwood and I lived in Kentucky for 8 years. We watch shows like that, see an actor we like in 1 show, watch their others. Anything Firefly related. Or Buffy. Though I think those 2 are related around Nathan Fillion. 🤣
I do know a bit about BBC and paying for it. Was a running joke over here for a long time that England only had 1 TV channel, BBC. That might have bene back in the 80's when I was watching Tom Baker as Dr Who. Still watch BBC for Dr. Who, 1 month to the Christmas special. 😎
There are too many subscriptions now though. Do you have Sling TV over there? It's $30 each for Orange or Blue or $45 for both, so even after I pick a service I still have to pick which channels to pay for. Maybe Disney will just buy them all 1 day and we'll just have 1 service for like $1,000 per month. Crazy.
@rjejr Nice! I'm an Italian/Irish Londoner though apart from having accents flying around at family gatherings I wouldn't say I feel very Irish or italian (I just feel like me but i don't really get into existential crises about my background to be honest lol). We still enjoy mob films and tv though, I've definitely been to a few events that are like the wedding scene in the godfather but I'm guessing there were no un-refusable favours being asked of the host!
Yeah I tend to gravitate toward recurring elements when choosing my next show or film, the many characters that Terry O'Quinn plays in the X files related shows had me hankering for some Lost but I've managed to hold off because I really fancied watching Enterprise again because I hadn't watched it in about ten years.
I think it used to just be BBC 1 and maybe BBC 2 way before my time but they added ITV and Channel 4. I actually remember when Channel 5 came out and it used to have really rubbish reception when it first started. But yeah that was basically it for terrestrial TV until digital came along and I think they switched off most of the analog transceivers over here in 2012.
Nah we don't have Sling but that sounds a bit like NowTV which is broken up into different packages for TV (which has the Arrowverse when it comes out except black lightning), film, sports, kids TV and reality TV (not the good kitchen nightmares kind, more like the vapid Kardashians style)
Swamp thing is pretty good actually, some brilliant actors who mostly seem to pull off that Louisiana accent though I still don't think I'll be convinced to try that Toitle soup!
@ralphdibny That history of the BBC sounds about right.
We have several tries of streaming tv over here, not to be confused w/ on demand like Hulu and Netflix, Peacock, HBO, CBS. Pretty much every tv channel has their own app, some free, some paid. If I could sign up for cable tv and not have them charge me a $20 monthly box rental fee I could get by just by signing in to all the apps, most of which require cable sign in, b/c monopoly.
So on demand, $5-$15. Then you have the live streaming services which are $65, Hulu TV, YouTube TV, used to have PS Vue but Sony cut their own cord. 😏 Then besides Sling at $30 A few others w/ stupid names like Philo and TVvision. They keep popping up like pay-as-you-go cell phone companies.
Of course they all offer different channels so I can never find 1 that has everything I want to watch. Which is only like 5 channels.
So, I spend more time investigating tv sources than I actually do watching tv, similar to how I spend more time on NL and PS talking and reading about games than actually playing them. 😂
One last show - you get Helstrom over there? I really enjoyed reading the comics way back when but the show looks like dreck.😝
@rjejr oh crap I had no idea helstrom was even out yet! It's TV MCU so I'll definitely be watching it at some point, I still haven't watched Jessica Jones 3, cloak and dagger 2, runaways 3 and agents of shield 6+7 so I'm pretty behind.
I thought a set of horror-ish shows sounded like a good idea even though they canned all of them except helstrom. I would've really liked to see more of the Robbie Reyes (I think that's his name?) ghost rider because I thought he was really good in shield.
I can't believe they announced a blade movie too, it seems like a really awkward film to make considering how good blade 1+2 were and also how snipes basically is blade. I heard he was in talks with Marvel while he was still in prison for tax evasion but I doubt they'd bring him back to play Blade himself and I'd rather they didn't incorporate the original movies into the MCU if they have to keep Trinity too.
I didn't know there was a difference between on demand and streaming. I think our TV channels offered on demand when the whole thing first came about but it was basically just streaming and I don't think they use the OD terminology now at all.
I'll probably end up torrenting Helstrom if it takes ages to come out. I usually just watch stuff on Now TV or Netflix but sometimes they play silly buggers with limited time availability or massive waits for American TV. Usually because no UK channel has picked it up or god forbid a terrestrial channel picks it up and it airs like a year later which really messes up crossovers - Crisis on Infinite Earths was missing it's Batwoman episode for like half a year so unfortunately torrenting was the only way to watch it all.
It happens with non superhero stuff too like the various Chicago series had a crossover but one episode was missing because it was being aired by a terrestrial TV channel many months later!
The switch is pretty much the only way to play light gun games these days unless you have an old console and a CRT TV. So it's a shame more games aren't taking advantage of it. Let's get Time Crisis and House of the Dead ports to the switch! You'd have to have a cursor on screen for it to work probably, but it works well enough in Mario Galaxy
