The Pokémon Company has revealed that Pokémon The Movie: Secrets of The Jungle will release in 2021 in the west, sharing the very first English-language trailer in the process.
Secrets of the Jungle, known as Pokémon The Movie: Coco in Japan, will be the 23rd film in the regular Pokémon series and features Ash and Pikachu alongside new character, Koko. As you can see from the trailer, Koko has been raised by Pokémon in the jungle and appears to have a close bond with 'Dada' Zarude.
To celebrate the movie's US release announcement, more details have been shared surrounding Zarude's global distribution in Pokémon Sword and Shield. A distribution of a special variant of Zarude, based on the 'Dada' form seen in the trailer above, has also been detailed for Japan, where the film will release slightly earlier next month.
“Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle” tells the story of Koko, a young boy raised by Pokémon, and the creation of a new bond between humans and Pokémon. Deep in the jungle, far from any human settlement, is the Forest of Okoya—a Pokémon paradise forbidden to outsiders and protected by a strict code of rules. In this jungle lives Koko, a human boy who has been raised as a Pokémon by the Mythical Pokémon Zarude.
Koko has grown up never doubting that he is a Pokémon. But one day, a chance meeting with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with his first human friend. Is he truly a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human? When danger threatens the Forest of Okoya, the bonds between Pokémon and human—as well as the love between parent and child—will be put to the test.

Is Veronica Taylor voiced Ash Ketchum on that movie ?
@Anti-Matter No. It’s Sarah Natochenny, who has been voicing Ash since season 9.
More Jungle less Pokemon in my movies please.
A Dadaist Pokemon would be interesting. I always wanted a Pokemon inspired by the Cabaret Voltaire.
I love Tarzan. It’s my favorite Pokémon
Very generic sounding title, could apply to basically any action film with a tropical forest in it.
That's a good looking trailer. I wonder when the mario movie will get a trailer.(still very skeptical of a mario movie, but open minded)
@nessisonett Brotherhood of Dada could have passed for Pokémon. FYI Doom Patrol villains.

Does explain the Jungle Book font in the title.

@Anti-Matter She hasn't voiced Ash in nearly 15 years, its Sarah Natochenny still
@rjejr Man, Doom Patrol are weird 😂😂
ooo interesting
@nessisonett Well by todays' standards I'll take Doom Patrol over Jersey Shore and Brotherhood of Dada over the current US gov't but way back when in the 90s they did kinda blow my mind, yeah.
Anybody else remember that episode from the original series that had a Tarzan-like kid who lived with a group of Kangaskhan in the Safari Zone? “The Kangaskhan Kid” I think is what it was called.
Hey if you sign up for the Pokemon Trainer News Club, you'll get a code for Zarude via email!
I mean, I'm not a huge Pokemon fan, but I like the nostalgic feel of this movie. It kinda reminds me of Sonic X haha
Might watch in theaters
@Aronin how can i not? early Kanto had some of the weirdest episodes, most notably the Saffron Gym one or the infamous Porygon one.
