2D side-scrolling action RPG Dragon Marked for Death has received a mighty update on Switch and other platforms, adding new Level 120 quests, character adjustments for all playable characters, equipment and item adjustments and more.

System Changes
- The way item upgrades in shops are displayed has been changed.
→ The upgraded item will be displayed to characters who can equip it at the appropriate level after the upgrade. - Players can now use a "Congratulations" chat command in the lobby chat at the Bar.
Character Changes
- The Empress has been adjusted
→ Physical attack power when equipped with shortswords has been been increased.
→ Physical attack power of the dash thurst attack when equipped with the small-sword has been increased and now costs 0 DP to activate.
→ Holy attack power of the Dragon Shot while under a Fire, Ice, Thunder, or Poison contract has been increased.
→ Holy attack power of the Dragon Cannon while under a Fire, Ice, or Poison contract has been increased.
→ Magic attack power when equipped with a magical weapon has been increased. - The Warrior has been adjusted
→ Warcry has been changed to now have an affect on Dragon Skills as well.
→ The amount of time it takes fo a charge attack to finish charging has been decreased.
→ The physical attack bonus granted during Berserk has been increased for all contract types.
→ The physical attack bonus granted during Berserk when using a greatsword has been increased.
→ The amount of DP recovered for each type of physical attack when using a greatsword has been increased.
→ Magic attack power when equipped with a magical weapon has been increased. - The Shinobi has ben adjusted
→ Physical attack power for kunai attacks while locked onto an enemy has been increased. - The Witch has been adjusted
→ Homing ice magic attacks can now pierce through terrain. - The Oracle has been adjusted
→ Holy damage dealt while using Dragon Advent under the Ice contract has been increased.
→ Health recovery while using Dragon Advent under the Poison contract has been increased.
→ Buffs granted from the Protection spell will now last until they naturally run out even if the character suffers an instant death. - The Bandit has been adjusted
→ The upper limit of the probability of acquiring Dragon Relics has been increased.
→ Attack power when using the Dragon Claw under the Fire, Ice, and Thunder contracts has been increased.
→ The duration of the Ice relics has been extended.
→ When using the Fire relic while under the Fire contract, the number of hits during the rising part of the attack has increased, and magic damage dealt during the falling part of the attack has increased.
→ The activation time for Dragon Relics while under the Fire contract has been decreased.
→ While under the Fire contract, the cooldown time between using Dragon Relics has been decreased and overall action speed has been increased.
→ The hit intervals of the Ice relic when under the Ice contract have been decreased
→ The magic attack power of the Thunder relic while under the Thunder contract has been increased.
→ The holy attack power of the Fire relic while under the Fire contract has been increased.
→ The maximum stock number of Dragon Relics while under the Thunder contract has been increased.
→ The holy attack power of homing shurikens while under the Poison contract has been increased.

The Dragon's Hoard - Quest rewards and experience poitns have been increased for some quests.
→ In particular, the maximum experience value that can be obtained for quests of Lv100 or higher has been greatly increased. - Added accessories suitable for the quest level to the list of drops from treasure chests that appear in level 110 quests.
- The rare drop rate for treasure quests found in all quests has been increased.
Item/Equipment Changes
- Material items that drop during boss battles on Level 120 have been added.
- A new exchange item "Platinum Celestial Statue" along with items that can acquired by exchanging "Platinum Celestial Statue" items at the Black Market have been added.

Pretty cool they're still updating the game! I still play this every now and then with some buddies. Despite the flak it got at launch its still a quality Inti game IMO. Can't really beat those Mega Man Zero vibes.

The review score of this game is way too low. this is a true hidden gem on Switch. I would give it a 8 or a 9 if you're fan of Megaman games.

I've almost gotten the game when it's been on sale in the eShop for pretty cheap a couple of times, but the fact that it's built entirely around co-op (as in trying to play solo will require some ridiculously long grinding times) with no couch co-op keeps turning me away.
This is it's second or third major patch that I remember, and each time I keep hoping to read that the game gets balanced for single player a bit more. Any game that requires me to find randoms I can't talk to or to do a sales pitch to friends and talk them into buying and playing the game with me is one that I don't want to bother with.
@burninmylight Is it still not tuned well to single player? I remember this one being real tough at launch, but I've been thinking about jumping back in to see how they've improved on it. Nothing wrong with a game that's built for co-op, but it's ridiculous to not adjust the difficulty down if there's only one player.
@burninmylight I love games built around co-op and I'm lucky to share the passion with my bro, who's home due to the pandemics. With no couch co-op, that's kind of a nope, though
I feel you on the "playing with randoms" or "trying to get friends to buy it to play with me". Had the same problem with Monster Hunter and Genshin Impact
@SwitchVogel The SP is okay once you get the hang of the class you're using. Not a walk in the part for sure but I think MMZ and Gunvolt was waaay harder in terms of boss fights.
This had to be hands one of the most supported games post launch. I'm still ashamed that I have yet to put more than 2 hrs into it

really hard to say, i think you should read steam reviews
i hadn't played since they added crossplay but it uses the host and join system with filters for getting a group and you'll just be staring at a menu waiting for people who most likely will not come, even if they do you might not get a chance to actually do anything since you're gonna be on the same path sharing enemies. it also does missions on the same few and flat stages over and over again.
it's kinda cool the aesthetic, some unique things, and you can enjoy it but the flaws are real like how the rpg elements are really just in the way and not well done. i think it has potential but i don't think it can be fixed, they should either do a sequel or redo it from scratch.

also you get bitter endings unless you beat the game with the all the main 4 characters, so if you buy just half the characters it won't have a good last impression. There isn't a story reason for needing to beat it with all 4 either.
It is best played multiplayer. The grind when going solo is real, and challenge increases, but completely doable. Also, most bosses require precision (especially late game), so practicing encounters solo is highly recommended.
Ultimately it's a co-op loot hunting game with some pretty intense action combat and a heap of grinding. Think of something like 2D Diablo, or Castlevania Harmony of Despair.
The one-person-per-console co-op is really in the games best interest as each player has the freedom to traverse the landscape instead of being locked to a single screen. Split screen would probably be too cramped with all the action.
Since it is quest/mission based finding a random online match can be tricky because you can only join before a mission begins.
There is a Discord Server that offers some great guides and options for team ups, highly recommend that.
Classes in the game can vary quite a bit, but The Witch is by far the most technical as you have long strings of button presses to create and cast spells (almost like the game Magicka, in a way) and I wouldn't recommend trying that class to just see if you like the game.
If you have a friend that enjoys action platformers and always wanted to co-op something like MegaMan/Castlevania, you'll absolutely love this and there is content to keep you occupied for ages.
If you're a solo player, know that it's a grind, and don't be too salty or sour... there are boatloads of single player games like this, but finding an online multiplayer one... well that is super rare.
