While the majority of Super Smash Bros. fans may have stopped playing the original Nintendo 64 entry many years ago, there's still a passionate community out there showing plenty of love for it via a mod called Smash Remix.
It updates the game with new characters, levels, and more, and in the latest patch, it's added Bowser - a character that was never actually playable in the N64 release. Bowser even gets his own special Smash-style intro and alongside him is the release of Giga Bowser.
While Bowser never made his official debut in the Smash Bros. series until Super Smash Bros. Melee on the GameCube, he was supposedly in the original game as a playable character during development but was ultimately scrapped.

George Lucas approves that sub-headline.
My favorite part of the video is at the very end where Bowser pulls a "So long-gay Mario" move on him.
This Bowser looks like a cool mix of classic and modern Smash Bowser. Definitely need to give this mod a try.
I hope this mod is compatible with the Everdrive.
This mod looks really cool, but probably I find the most interesting thing about it is the characters they added. Lucas and Dark Samus didn't exist when Smash 64 released.

love the intro for bowser. now to add is friends, i mean enemies from super Mario RPG.just imagine super smash bros where all of bowser's minions are included in the game with many of the moving super mario bros levels. even some under water ones. it will be the bowser character pack.
@Samuel-Flutter Mother 3 was actually planned to be released as "EarthBound 64" and a trailer was shown at SpaceWorld 99 or so. I think Lucas wasn't shown in this, but Nintendo could have pulled a Roy and released him early with Smash.
Dark Samus totally didn't exist back then though. Even SA-X was still years away.
@KayFiOS it is and it is brilliant. Loads of new stages, from both custom and from newer Smash games - even has a moving FZero stage, music and settings also now the game has been freed of its meagre cart limitations.
@Bensei That's fair with Lucas. It's just weird seeing them in the 64 version. I understand why they were implemented, but it's just weird in retrospect.
