Earlier this week, Sega ended its Ages line with the release of Herzog Zwei in Japan (it's magnificent, by the way).
In a follow-up interview with Japanese outlet Game Watch, Sega's Yosuke Okunari said the team was already working on its next project and hoped to continue re-releasing past titles on Switch, but couldn't reveal if M2 would be involved in the future.
Sega's collaborations with M2 will seemingly continue in the future - with the M2 Twitter account recently posting the following message in response to some lovely fan art by @Tracker_TD, and asking fans to "please stay tuned":
In the same Game Watch interview shared earlier in the week, Tsuyoshi Matsuoka (on behalf of M2) said the emulation expert still had "a lot of other titles" it wanted to port. Personally speaking, Matsuoka still wants to see Sega's "entire history of interactive games" make a return.
The Sega Ages line officially ended with a total of 19 games. What other past titles from Sega (with the help of M2) would you like to see released on the Switch in the future? Tell us in the comments below.

I hope we can get some Dreamcast titles. Skies of Arcadia, Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure, so many great games! I also hope we can get some more past Atlus games, like Persona 3 and the older Shin Megami Tensei games.
Still holding out for Revenge of Death Adder, Outrunners, and Planet Harrier
Still need Golden Axe series and Revenge of Shinobi.
With Sonic 3 & Knuckles left out of various collections, I wonder if it was to avoid hurting the sales of an upcoming Sonic legacy collection. Although there are plenty other games to include. All titles on Mega Drive, Master System and Sonic CD. I hope this is a project M2 are working on.
I never owned a Saturn or Dreamcast so any gems from these consoles would be good along with other Arcade games.
The lack of Golden Axe and its sequel (arcade, not home console) was criminal. Arcade 1UP knew to make it their very first SEGA cabinet
I am still wishing for a collection of classic 3D Sega arcade games from the 90's. Such a golden era for them, so many great games that have never seen a home console port.
Skies of Arcadia would be amazing. That was such a great game.
@gb_nes_gamer I think the lack of Sonic 3 as well as Sonic and Knuckles in recent years is due to some kind of legal issue regarding the music. I think they had some famous music producer do them who has been a jerk about it lately.
@jimtendog i hope not. They need to put Sonic away for awhile....
Some Saturn or Dreamcast games, or even the Polygon-based arcade games would be amazing. Personally I’d like to see Wing War on the Model 1 board.
Sega should simply hand M2 the rights to develop any remakes or compilations they choose from their vast catalog of console and arcade titles. After two decades since the Dreamcast, it's plainly obvious that Sega themselves have little or no interest in publishing anything that isn't either Sonic and/or Genesis-related. What harm would there be in allowing a proven retro specialist to give fans the games we've been asking to revisit for so long?
Sonic adventure 1 and 2 would be great
@jimtendog
They had actual high quality ports of those games they could have put on Switch but instead we get more emulations from M2 while the ports are locked to mobile gaming hell, Sega is a mismanaged nightmare of a publisher.
@Lindhardt And Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, Rez... <3 More people need to experience the Dreamcast's amazing games!
A port of the original arcade Super Monkey Ball would be nice too.
@JayJ If that’s the case I hope it gets resolved. I agree with other comments, putting Sonic to one side, there are other games that could do with the spotlight.
They outdid themselves with Virtua Racing. So even though AGES has ended, there were some brilliant games in there.
I would love to see many of Sega's 90s arcade games make a return, but I understand that it isn't as simple as it may seem to us. A release like Virtua Racing, or the PS3/360 release of Daytona USA, costs more to convert/update than a Mega Drive or early 2D arcade game does and I can only assume that neither of those games sold particularly well. A few hundred people on gaming website forums clamouring for a release does not necessarily equal lots of sales and a profit.
I can't believe they just released the same games for the 50th time.
Please, move onto Saturn or Dreamcast
For the 999th time, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, no point in MJ's uncredited tracks excuse, there is a Windows version with different songs or they can change them enough. Besides, if that is really the issue, why is it currently available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android and iOS?
@AJDarkstar I wrote more or less the same as you at the same time 😁.
I don't have the Mega Drive Collection on any console but I have heard that it is laggy and emulation is off and it hasn't Sonic 3 & Knuckles anyway.
@BlueOcean The Megadrive collection is awful on Switch but not too bad on the other systems for input lag
@carlos82 Thanks.
Shining Force 3 is the game(s) I want to see the most.
Other than that, I would love to have Phantasy Star 2 ~ 4 with the same enhancements the original got. Skies of Arcadia would also be great too.
Aw man, this has been a roller coaster 🎢
Let’s cut straight to the chase, I want a Dreamcast mini right now!
@JayJ wasn’t it reportedly Michael Jackson? Both dealing with his estate and association with any accusations made against him would be off putting but as others have said there is alternate music.
Sega is run by clowns. Nuff said
Such a shame, Outrun and Virtua Racing are so much fun and my go to games for a 10 min sesh.
All they have to do is crack into the Saturn and Dreamcast catalogues, release some games that are almost impossible to find (Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force 3, etc) and they'll be in the green for AGES.
They better not be done! M2 and Sega is like Herzog/Kinski or Jordan/Pippen
My hope for JSR(F) is still burning bright!
" UNDERSTAND - UNDERSTAND - THE CONCEPT OF LOVE" 🎵
I'd throw money at them for Alien Syndrome, Daytona USA, SEGA Rally, Virtua Fighter 2, Shining Force III, Phantasy Star IV, Scud Race, and Panzer Dragoon Saga, to only name a few.
Nights, Ristar, Billy Hatcher & The Giant Egg, Super Monkey Ball... come on sega
I really love M2 as I’m still playing the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx 16 Mini. I look forward to whatever they have in store.
The easy choice would be to port the popular Dreamcast games to the Switch. Chu Chu Rocket, Crazy Taxi, Jet Grind Radio, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Daytona USA, Skies of Arcadia, etc.
@Alucard-XII Yes, a release of the full Saturn trilogy of Shining Force games would be amazing!
Have they done Bonanza Bros.?
Phantasy Star II please. Done in the same way as the Sega Ages PS1 with on the screen maps.
I'd love the PS generations remakes that came out on the Playstation 2 as well.
M2 has been working with Sega to port their games to systems since the PS2 era. I'd be very surprised if they didn't continue to work with Sega.
Lots of great choices already mentioned in the comments like Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III all 3 scenarios, Skies of Arcadia, etc. Thinking outside the box a little, would it be possible to make a peripheral that could make a Joycon into a makeshift light gun? Thinking about House of the Dead, Virtua Cop, Lost World making a comeback. I wish there was a way to do light gun style games on modern TVs.
Sega Rally 1+2 and Scud Race next please👍😀
To many, this would be just more of the same, but I was hoping that they would do Psycho Fox from the Master System.
The original Virtua Fighter needs a triumphant return (perfomance and resolution upgraded like Virtua Racing).
That thing blew my mind when I first saw it in an arcade as a kid.
I dreamed of being able to play it all I wanted at home and actually being able to learn how to play well. (Didn’t have the funds to try it more than a few times.)
@ferryb001 I'm down for that! And toy commander
@JayJ
Yepp. It’s dealing with one of Michael Jackson’s producers who worked on the game.
Apparently it’s just the Sonic 3 half that is the problem. From what I understand the S&K half doesn’t use any of his music.
I thought the Sega Ages line was great, in fact i got most of them, felt like they didn't even scratch the surface, what now for M2?
