Last week, we got our first look at Crysis Remastered. After seeing fans' reactions, Crytek decided to delay the game "by a few weeks" - explaining how it was committed to delivering a high-quality experience, across all platforms.
So what's going on with the Switch release now? Well, according to Crytek's official Crysis account on Twitter, this particular version will still make the original launch date of July 23rd. Here's the confirmation:
Yep, it seems the Switch version of the game will actually be arriving on time. As it stands, this delay only applies to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC version of the game.
Why is the Switch release launching on time? One guess is that Saber Interactive - the co-developer of the Nintendo version - has already done everything it can to make the game look as good as it possibly can on the system.
Will you be trying out the Switch version of Crysis Remastered? Tell us down below.

Will be interesting to see how this one looks and runs. I’ve enjoyed running around in he old school FPS’s like Doom and Duke Nukem, looking forward to a more modern shooter (I would have bought Borderlands Collection if I didn’t have it on PS4).
I'm interested. I would like to see how it runs first, however.
Seems like the big publishers are too afraid to make their own games for Switch themselves cause they know they would screw the port up big time. I'm glad there are dedicated devs like Saber Interactive and Panic Button out there, them are the real dream team here. Switch owners should be glad devs like these are onboard with the Switch.
Wow... typically it goes the other direction. I wonder why the other three versions are delayed. I mean, Saber is one of the powerhouse porting companies, so I think it'll be killer anyhow. I'll probably grab this one for sure on Switch, then on PC later.
@Air-Dog I would highly recommend the Metro series if you have yet to check them out! I have only played a bit of Metro 2033, but it is already scratching my Half Life itch on Switch.
Imma grab this and give it a shot, and it's just 'cause Saber's onboard this project!
The Switch will run Crysis!
Nice, been waiting for this what seems like forever 😂
@Chlocean - I’ve heard good things about Metro. Will definitely look into it. Thanks.
Does this have anything to do with EA? I know they published the original relase, but I don't know for this one. If they don't, I'll gladly support it.
@Apportal "eating for this' , what does mean ?
Never played it. I'll wait for reviews and a Digital Foundry video for this one.
Cant wait, im buying this for the switch!! Need this game to play on the go haha.
I have a high end gaming pc, but my switch im playing everyday my pc only sometimes in the weekend.
I kinda hope this one comes to Xbox Game Pass so I can give it a go! I have never played Crysis, and I am not huge into shooters these days, so an addition to a service I already have is the best option for me.
@Orangezap89 auto-correct oops 😬
Never got to play the original Crysis. Very much looking forward to this!!
I missed this on the 360 so I'm excited to play it for the first time! Also I want to support the dev, saber interactive as they are top notch!
I will get Crysis on the Switch, simply because I used the "does it run crysis" meme many times, but never actually played the game.
It’ll be interesting to see how it’s aged. I remember it looking great at the time, graphics wise, but I honestly couldn’t tell you if the game itself was any good despite owning it way back.
Crysis reverted...
@nessisonett you owned it yet you never played it? What sense does that make?
So at a guess, I would imagine this is because the Switch version was the target platform and then they built upon that foundation for the other versions. The game was probably good to go and they have already squeezed as much out of the hardware as they can, therefore there is no point delaying the Switch version.
Hallelujah... That's all i wanted to know.
I forgot, can somebody tell me if this game has online multiplayer?
Nice, I'll get it after reading a few reviews.
Never had the chance to play it before and now it's the perfect time.
@Air-Dog you could go for Bioshock. Runs very good and the first 2 games are masterpieces.
Nice! I'll wait for the reviews before making up my mind, but it's good to know there's some light after Paper Mario lol
@progx probably cause they can't really further improve the switch version wheras they can for they others
therefore they can release the switch version already while they are trying to improve the other version
@dewokkel - sounds good. I do like the look of them. I had a quick run around of the third one a few years back. Glad to hear they run well. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve been playing retro FPS’s. Ion Fury and Project Warlock are awesome if you like that sort of thing.
Good news, we're not that bothered about improving the Switch version (or can't)
In all seriousness I don't see the few weeks making much difference to the other versions either
@DoktorTotenKopf Have you ever heard of the 'Steam Sale'? It is partly responsible for vast numbers of purchased games that will never be played but were simply 'too good of a deal' to pass up!
Myself, I played on release and a couple of times since ... good game (better IMO than most all of the Far Cry follow-ups). Will watch to see how this one looks and plays.
@txa1265 I never really got into Steam, despite its advances and lovely catalog of titles. Maybe I’ll make an account and like you, I’ll wait for this new remaster and see how it performs once released.
On the official site you can see some short clips and screenshots said to be captured from the Switch, and it looks fantastic from what I can see. Destruction, dynamic lighting, gyro aiming, it's all mentioned to be there. And usually upscaled older technical marvels look better and more balanced than downscaled modern games, in my opinion and experience.
I really hope this turns out well. I'll be traveling for a couple weeks starting July 23rd, so it would be fun to play this on the go.
@alexybubble Absolutely not. Crytek kept hold of the Crysis IP.
@DoktorTotenKopf I did play it, my point was that I remember absolutely nothing about the gameplay.
Wooohooo! I’ll pre-order it right now!
@Shambo thanks for the info man! I just went to their website, and what they showcased there looks fantastic! I can’t wait!
Not interested in crysis but hopefully it sells well so syber can bring more games that weren’t supposed to run on switch
I'm going to grab this. never played this (or Far Cry and it reminds me of that for some reason)
@Dpullam
The original trilogy-the 360 versions- have just been added to EA Access so I’m doubtful they’ll make it to Game Pass.
@electrolite77 I noticed that myself a couple hours ago! I honestly didn't even know there was a trilogy!
@nessisonett oh Righto.
A couple a weeks a go I got Bulletstorm and I was amazed by it (gameplay, graphics and story).
I did miss gyro aming and multiplayer, so I am kind of excited for this release. I will probably buy it after listening to digital foundry's analisys.
Im thinking they decided not to improve the jank on the Switch version.
