This looks familiar 🤔
If you have not played it already you owe it to yourselves to play Resident Evil 4 aka the best game of all time.
I bought them all in another sale except for RE0. I know people don’t like part 5 and 6, but I had a great time with both. They are not classic RE games, but good action games. Also both run great in handheld.
#repost (yes that is all i wish to say)
The original version of this article was better, since it was clearer that the Revelations games aren’t discounted in the US.
Also I refuse to read this article without gyro controls.
@gaga64 Lol! Comment of the day!
Someone needs to say something about Code Veronica being the real Resident Evil 3/4, now.
Code Veronica is the real Resident Evil 3
I got the 2 revelations games on friday.
Need Giro (and I am not talking ‘the rock n’ roll’, I have a job)
@dewokkel Resident Evil 5 has some amazing co-op. I remember playing it constantly with a few buddies of mine when it released last gen.
@TheFullAndy That's a weird way to spell The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
These are always on sale, and every single one should be £7.99 not just Revelations 1 and 2. Come on Capcom...
I'm thinking of picking up RE 1 remake as
I've heard good things and it shows up high on 'best RE games' lists
And maybe RE 0 while at it
I've only properly played the newer over-the-shoulder camera ones, it will be interesting to take a look on the classic-style ones
@Nerdfather1
Amazing game in co-op
What is this Groundhog Day...?? Haven't I seen this article before?
Well, ok, very tempted to get again RE1 and 4... But I hope they'll get even cheaper.
Oh, and RE Code Veronica is indeed the real RE3. RE3 is just RE2.5
@Maulbert
I respect your wrong in every way opinion! 😀
These are always on sale and with 50% off. As far as I can remember the reviews were not that positive, high price for a port. But might be a good deal now.
Still not a great price.
This is weird. Did they delete and re-post the entire article?
@Krull Thank you for taking up my battle, brother/sister/close-relation-of-indeterminate-gender
I wish they'd compress these file sizes
I have a tendency to buy all games on the platform but I didn’t for these. Strange huh. I played REmake on gamecube but never ever played the others. My wife adores RE4. And I must say I did adore RE7 on PSVR — vr made it sooooo creepy.
Might get them just to add to my collection.
This article has been reposted?
Anyway, the price to buy all 5 games on Switch during this sale would cost £72. To buy all 5 on PS4 at full price would cost £70. Though they are also currently on sale on PS4 and you can get all 5 for £20.
Even on sale, the Switch versions are overpriced.
This should be their normal prices never mind sale price
Yeah but what about the physical versions? I want a big sale on those...
There's never been a better time to get into Resident Evil... Except the other ten times they went on sale including Revelations in NA.
I echo the sentiments that these video games are indeed priced way above an agreeable level.
Ahhh.. I'll buy it at a high price, or not at all apparently!
Honestly though, I might get 5 for £15. Seems reasonable for a handheld game.
@Maulbert
*Ocarina of Time
You had a small typo😂
Loved RE4 on the Wii, would totally double-dip and replay if they didn't cheap out and not bother carrying over gyro-aiming.
I refuse to support this behavior with my money.
Don’t buy re4 if you plan to play on professional.
There is a bug and QTE is brutally hard to a point of insanity. If you get past the boulders, Salazar statue won’t let you continue unless you have the speed of Sonic and Flash combined.
It's still frustrating though, that some of these games, even at 50% off, are now at the regular price they're sold elsewhere.
Out of all, which is worth picking up?
BUT which is the best to get?
I’m a new Switch gamer and someone who hasn’t played RE for a good number of years.
I thoroughly recommend both Revelations games. Their story modes are proper spooky stuff, and their raid modes are lots of fun, especially in multiplayer. This is especially true for Revelations 2, where obtaining all of the unlockables is actually humanly possible (with the exception of one particular costume that's virtually impossible to get, and completely impossible if you don't have Nintendo Online). They look extremely good, too - Revelations 2 even looks better than it does on the PS4, but the downside is that it has really, really long loading times. In the story mode, this doesn't matter, but in raid mode it can get frustrating.
However, if you want to play more Resident Evil, you should probably play the Revelations games last. In my experience, at least, they make you take lots of things for granted that the other games simply don't have - moving around whilst aiming/attacking, for one.
Has Capcom commented on patching in gryo controls for RE4? Doom did it
@Remolution I would definitely suggest RE4. RE5 has some great co-op (unfortunately the AI for your NPC partner in solo mode requires a LOT of babysitting) and RE6, while widely criticised, isn't too bad though it's certainly more of an action title than a survival horror.
But if you're only getting one then I would easily recommend RE4.
@nintendoknife lndeed, the two Revelations titles are quite brilliant. I've sunk a lot of hours into both of those games over the years.
@LeonKennedy I wouldn't bet on them doing anything. Their whole attitude towards the Switch is,do the bare minimum and charge an arm and leg for their efforts
@dewokkel
Who doesn't like Resident Evil 5? It's Capcom's highest selling RE game.
I enjoyed 6 eventhough it was too far a swing into action. Keeping Resident Evil like 4 & 5 is the way to go for the series.
@LeonKennedy
Good question: I'm holding out my purchase of RE4 on Switch until I hear they confirmed gyro.
@TheFullAndy - Guess "I'll buy it at a discounted price". I need this so I can play one of my all-time favorite games in handheld mode 😅
I think I will buy the original resident evil game, it will be great to play this in handheld mode, I remember seeing my mate play it on the PS1 and wondering what all the fuss was about, it looked so bad, but then when the game was remade for the Gamecube it totally got me hooked on the series.
I will buy RE4 or others when gyro will be implemented.
For 4 I would even go full price, if I will have to, that's probably the game I re-played the most between GC & Wii
I finally bought resident evil 1 , £12 is a reasonable price imo. I’m really loving it as I’ve never played this newer version before and it looks gorgeous.
Are these sale prices?
@Axlroselm They are yes, although as old as some of these games are they should probably be the default prices.
Anyone know if the mercenaries modes for any of these games are cross platform? Seen no mention of it in reviews so I'm guessing that's a no, but being able to play this online through the lockdown would be a major selling point for me
You RE fans sure can't make up your minds. For the longest time you were all hating on RE 5 and 6 for being so action heavy and saying they ruined the series because of it. Now here comes RE 8 with a more action oriented style and it's all OMG it's amazing i can't wait! Ya hoo this kicks ass! Okay whatever guys. I don't get it.
Yeah anyway i don't see why it can't be both. If you don't like the action ones play the slower paced games, If that's too boring for you go in guns a blazing with the action ones. Either way blast the hell outta some freaky monsters and have fun!
Oh and lastly what's all this RE 4 sucks without Gyro nonsense? It was a masterpiece from day one even before motion controls were a thing. Why else do you think i bought it on every platform it's been released on so far? Seriously if you haven't played it by now shame on you!
I'd wait until these games go on a sale comparable to other platforms.
@Axlroselm Capcom being Capcom, selling digital copies of old games for a price at which you'd expect a physical actual-gold-collection. Even the sale price puts me off, while I'd like to play RE0 and REmake on Switch (even 4, for the millionth time, had they done the very least of effort and added gyro aim). Five euro's each, and I'd have gotten a few, maybe even RE5 (since that one DOES have gyro apparently, and may therefore finally be playable... I hated the controls and menu's in that game, and couldn't finish it because of them).
Recently got everyone except 0. Good game but wouldn't want to play it again.
I think it would be more of an event if the games were full price, certain games seem to be always on sale.
Shame RE4 switch doesn't have gyro. The Wii Edition was one of my fav third party games of all time on any Nintendo console.
Think I have all the RE I want.
They seem to be on sale fairly often? 🤔
@Ralizah I know this is an old topic now but what's odd is my comment still exists but is no longer linked to any article.
@Spoony_Tech Looking in my comment history, my own comment is still noted as being attached to the original article. Fascinatingly, I can go back and successfully edit the comment hosted on a web page that no longer appears to exist.
