You and your Pokémon will take up an apprenticeship under the master of this dojo and train hard to become even stronger.
The brand new trailer above has also revealed the existence of Galarian Slowbro:

Getting closer to this awesome update all the time.
The DLC doesn’t seem as much of a disappointment as most I’m sure we’re expecting. I’m not too pumped or thrilled with how the first one is looking but some of the environment is pretty cool like those huge trees scattered. I really hope they don’t limit you to that one new Pokémon the whole first DLC but if that’s the case I guess it’s not that big of a deal. Imo the DLC seems like a better step in the direction of sword And shield than the base game itself which is cool. Although I’m not the most psyched for this one, I actually am very pumped for the tundra, that looks actually really awesome. I’ve always been a huge fan of snow/ice oriented areas in Pokémon so that one is definitely calling to me. Either way new content is cool, I got it a while back so I’m just awaiting release!! Don’t forget to be redeeming the mystery gifts leading up to the dlc guys!
Now we have a release date I'm ready to preorder. Not long to wait either!
I hope there will be more Galarean Forms beside the Slowpoke line
Looks pretty great. Earlier than I thought it’d be too.
That...actually looks really good. Very happy my SO got us both the expansion passes a while back - we had a lot of fun with Sw/Sh last year, and this looks like a sizeable addition to the base game. Looking forward to going down the Pokemon rabbit-hole again!
@mariomaster96 I think the first trailer revealed quite a few more Galarian forms, including some of the legendary birds.
@Rob3008 oh yeah, I forgot about that, but I mean beside galarean forms we already know about
Looks good but looks like a lot of recycled pokemon from older games instead of new ones
@colmtheperson Only new legendaries are new in the DLC, all others are a couple new forms and all returning 'mons
@mariomaster96 You mean like the Tauros with the afro at the 0:38 mark?
Well I think it looks good so there! I'll put in my pre-order later.
Ok but is this one a board game?
Seems like they are retroactively updating animations and size inconsistencies like wailord.
@AndyRogan That's Bouffalant.
@AndyRogan
You didn't just mistake Bouffalant for Tauros lmao.
@AndyRogan That's actually Bouffalant, an entirely different Pokémon
Looks pretty good actually.
That made me finally pre order the DLC.
@AndyRogan That's unovan Tauros if you want to call it that way
(that's Bouffalant btw)
I'm excited. I've voiced my gripes with the base game. But I'm always excited for more Pokémon
It's starting to look like way less of the travesty it was building up to be and more like the masterpiece @johnvboy has been defending for so long. Too bad it takes thirty bucks for SwSh to feel like complete games, but we're getting there. Unless @Kalmaro begs to differ, of course.
Oh...thanks for making the one new Pokemon reveal the thumbnail for the article so we couldn't avoid it...
This is looking like quite the meaty expansion. I don't have the base game yet but do plan on getting the DLC sometime after playing through it.
Also, it appears Bouffalant was a regional Tauros form before regional forms were cool.
@AlexSora89 I have been summoned...
It's still my opinion that if this DLC had been included in the base game and it would have felt more complete overall. That's just my opinion though.
Never played the DS games from B/W onwards, but might have to to check out the ones I missed not in Go yet
im going to pre-ordre the dlc
I've preordered months ago.
This looks like more of the same. So those that really liked Sw/Sh are bound to enjoy this. But I don't expect it to win over many people that weren't keen on Sw/Sh.
Don't think I'll get it, but it looks cool!
This is all content which should have been in the games from the start. I made the mistake of playing sword, I won't make the same mistake again.
I’m not going to argue with anyone or try to convince anyone about the expansion, but for me personally, I am SO excited about this. That trailer looked amazing. I cannot wait for the 17th. All those legendary Pokémon will be mine!
@BLD LMAO. I was waiting for a board game comment. I want this to become a meme for Ryan's articles now haha.
@Zoda_Fett why did i just read your huge paragraph only to receive such an irrelevant opinion? yikes
anyways this DLC looks amazing and the free addition of all the old Pokemon returnjng has gotta be the most exciting part
@crimsontadpoles people upset with Sw/Sh couldnt get over not having ALL the pokemon but after Tundra is out there will only be 150-200 missing
@AndyRogan LMAOOOO @ tauros with an afro
I think I'm gonna wait this time around. Sword and Shield were pretty games, but they weren't really enjoyable to play until after the storyline had ended (what with being led by the hand between every destination and every battle being so easy).
I was excited for the DLC at first, but given that it's just more storyline, I'll wait and see what the consensus is before actually purchasing it.
Meanwhile, I thought New Horizons would be a 5 minute distraction, but I've played it pretty much every day since launch. The value for money and attention to detail are phenomenal. (not to mention the free DLC shortly after launch).
I was super excited at the idea of Galarian Slowbro and Slowking, but honestly I'm super disappointed by Slowbro 😔
@WreckitRyan board game? Meme? What have I missed? 😄
Luxray is finally back! Alright I'm in.
@AndyRogan No that one is Agumon.
I said OMG when i saw the Legendaries from Generation 1 until 7 and the Galarian form of Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno. 😮
Still wait until November 2020 for All Expansion Packs.
Right now, i'm busy with other games and my backlogs.
@glorymade maybe because it's locked behind a paywall?
@clvr yeah I'm hoping Slowking is better in the 2nd pack
middle fingers up until the 45 second mark, seemed like they were using the missing mons as a selling point
They better be at least as big as the base game or it is a no go for me.
I will get it once the second part is out.
@crimsontadpoles
One could argue expansions are only ever aimed at existing fans anyway, so I don't think that's an issue
@clvr Ah sorry! Yesterday, Ryan published an article (https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/06/official_pokemon_board_game_announced_will_be_based_on_the_trading_card_game) that incorrectly states in the title that it is a new Pokemon board game, when if he actually bothered clicking on the link, he would've seen its just a playmat for the TCG. We gave him some grief for it 😂
@Supadav03
I think the extra legendary Pokemon are actually for the second expansion which is somewhat of a shame. Up to the new Poke is Isle of Armor than that part ends when seeing the new Poke again which is the 2nd part, after that it's a mix.
I would rather they had separate trailer for Isle of Armor than another trailer for the other part, but I get why then done it as they are part of the same expansion pass.
@WreckitRyan ah I see, thanks! lol
No need to apologize, by the way! 😊
Edit: wow, they still haven't changed it! My god is this site awful. Why is @ryancraddock still in charge of anything?
Yesterday he put out that one with no research at all, and today he didn't even bother to post the Hidden Abilities in the PokéBank starters article, and I had to do that in the comments section.
I mean, if you're gonna half-ass stuff, don't even bother in the first place.
@graysoncharles they aren’t “$30 a pop”, they are $30 for both. “A pop” would indicate a $30 price tag for each. The expansion cannot be purchased individually.
It sucks to cost $90, but with the dlc, there looks to be FINALLY enough content to make these games worth getting... Still wish these allowed all Pokemon in the game, not only 75%.
@glorymade LMAO from the comment I see you make following it up I can tell you’re one of those completely blind fools who eat up anything game freak gives them no matter how mediocre or trash it is. I didn’t talk down on the game nor did I knock anyone who did within my comment. If you read all the other comments... as well as your own you can see there’s nothing but opinions. Quite pathetic honestly how ignorant and blind you’re. Continue to project and it’ll come back to ya buddy
Getting major Skyrim vibes from Crown tundra thats the one I am looking forward to.
@Otoemetry i can tell you're a kid because adults know that nothing in life is free
@Zoda_Fett look at how mad you are dude i hope you're not an adult acting like this, damn
@glorymade if 35 counts as a child, then ok! I'm a series veteran, been playing since Blue (when I actually was a child) so I know what counts as a decent amount of content for the price of a game and Sw/Sh ain't it. Die mad about it bro.
@Supadav03 they're $30 a pop if you want it for both games though aren't they.
I want to be more excited about this but I lost a lot of trust in GF after playing the base game. I'll happily buy the Expansion Pass only if there's substantial content to justify the price.
@Otoemetry yes but that’s no what he was saying. He was inferring they were $30 per DLC release. See his reply to me where he confirms my take on his statement.
@Kalmaro,
I thought you were trying to get a deal on the game so you could add the DLC.
@johnvboy I am still. I want a deal since I don't feel like the base game has enough content for the price.
If the put the DLC into the base game as one compete game, I probably would have sprung for it.

Good deal on the expansion pack.
I sold my copy of sword to a gamestop because it felt like rushed and empty character model demo parade. I'm not trying to be clever here. The game wasn't what it could have been.
@Otoemetry not really they can be traded to you.u just cant catch them in the wild so it isnt really locked behind a pay wall
@Supadav03 30 gets you both dlc for sword or 30 gets you both dlc for shield.
@mariomaster96 Don't forget, when SS launched they kept most of the new Pokemon/forms a surprise. Be nice if that was the case here as well.
Congratulations nintendo, you now have a purchase from me. Great job bring scythe back.
So how long before that arm cannon Slowbro gets its own Super Metroid mod?
@Otoemetry are you considered in poverty? low income? how is $30 for 2 different drops of DLC with a lot of new content per drop not worth it? how am i mad? i'm literally stoked to download on June 17th and you're either missing out completely or you're just complaining for attention...
and if you really were a fan since Blue then you paid full price for it and then most likely Yellow as well, and then Silver or Gold and then Crystal and Ruby or Sapphire and Emerald too right? so on 3 different occasions you paid FULL RETAIL PRICE for a game that you had already played with unique changes that doesn't even include the DS or 3DS games lol
but you can't spend $15x2 for a massive addition to the most expansive Pokemon games ever made, right..
It wouldn't be a Pokemon comment section in 2020 if people weren't complaining about it.
Just started playing Sword again and I cannot wait for this. And the new Slowpoke line looks great.
Looks awesome but am going to wait till there is info on added storyline content before I jump in.
First thing l thought of when the trailer began, I said "is this okami world now?".
Anyways what l thought of the trailer, l just think they overdid it because at the end ot felt like its playing all over again and it wasn't much in trailer. They showed too much edgy action that went by through Pokèmon too fast. Only thing l liked about the trailer was they showed two of my favorite pokemon that were in the past gen. So it was an okay trailer. Remember my opinion, so back off if you hated what l said. Ty
I am seeing people not wanting to start a fight in pokemon land. Here is my advice if some1 complains about your opinion even its just an opinion. Don't reply back, ignore the user or put them on ignore list so you don't have to think about them.
