Let's just get this out there: the main theme song in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is delightful. Ever since the game was released - and in the weeks just before launch, actually - we've been finding ourselves humming the tune wherever we go, annoying our friends and family but having an absolute whale of a time. Now, we can enjoy it in a whole new way.
Nintendo has released a new video in which the musicians behind the game's theme come together for a special, lockdown-style performance. The song just oozes quality and charm, so it's nice to be able to see the faces of those who turned the squiggly notes on paper into the earworm we all know and love today.
Feel free to sit back, enjoy, and let us know how you've been getting on with Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the comments below. Are you getting anywhere with your island's design? Is your home a super-duper mansion yet? We're all ears...

BRAVO!
Lovely stuff!
So happy Nintendo uses real musicians unlike so many other companies.
We need more of this sort of thing even when lockdowns are over. Bloody wonderful.
Could listen to that 24/7. Wonderful!
Awesomeness/
this put such a smile on my face, i love seeing live performers play their songs. like what they did for mk8
Honestly one of the most beautiful theme songs of all time.
I love watching musicians perform. That was excellent!
@mesome713 who are these "other companies"?
@playstation_king Could be anybody, one man digital composers are big in the gaming industry.
@mesome713 yeah it's usually shooters and fast paced games that do that, I like the music from games like dragon quest and original final fantasies, games that use orchestra music
@playstation_king Same here, it's more creative and supportive of the arts. Too much music is going digitalised and people forget how amazing it is to see more creative arts. Live music doesn't always sound better, but it's more magical and immpersive to see live or know it was created live.
Of course music don't really make the gsme, but it's an impressive bonus.
First thing I noticed was Brian May’s Red Special hanging behind the bongo guy, nice sounds, I’m yet to start the game
Not a very diverse band, smh. /s
😃 nice. Yes that’s all I’ve got to say
@idrawrobots So, you dont know what these people identify with. Clearly, you are a racist....
I love that people have time for all this, instead of worrying about real problems.
That was absolutely lovely.
i think it’s the same guys from mk8
@mesome713 As a one man digital orchestrator, it's a little disheartening to hear there are people who think of us like that >:
@TeslaChippie I hear you, but I hear the organic sounds louder.
@mesome713 Based on recent advancements in sample technology I give it a decade, max, until you can't hear any difference at all.
Gorgeous. Music just has a way of healing and rejuvenating!
@TeslaChippie But then you have to deal with feeling and seeing.
I wanna see them do the Wild World theme, AKA, the best Animal Crossing theme.
That was fantastically beautiful! Thank you, Mr. Craddock for posting it! WOW!
I don't need that goddamned elevator music stuck in my head any more than it already is. Thanks, Kenny G!
They're amazing! I wanna see more of them!
