They make some good games, but WayForward are FAR from a seal of quality, trust me.
I liked the show a lot... and WayForward has some hits and misses. Hopefully this turns out like the Adventure Time game they did that was like Zelda 2.
Is this show even any good? I’ve been curious.
@Noid Based on what I’ve read about Hotel Transylvania I’m inclined to agree with you.
I certainly had choice words about Merlin opening (Those who have seen Season 3 will know exactly why) but I'm very intrigued! Angor was in one of the screenshots too which makes me very interested. Really hoping we get some changelings too, need more Strickler and Nomura snark in my life.
@brandonbwii Personally I do recommend it. From the humble beginnings with Jim and Toby being thrown into this world and trying to navigate everything while still trying to be ordinary teens, morally grey characters, good mix of humour and drama plus the horror (Del Toro influences that really come to town later) and particularly with the latter of Season 2/3, that awful realisation that nobody is safe.
The Season 1 trailer gives you a good idea what the first half of Season 1 is like.
Now that I’ve watched the trailer, it doesn’t look like it plays to Wayfoward’s strength which is strong pixel art and 2D animation. My optimism has been mostly diminished.
@Wool_Sheep @Kriven
Thanks, I will have to check it out.
This is what you'll typically see of WayForward, they do a lot of licensed games to pay the bills, but their original in-house games are where their passion (and spare time) goes.
That said, the fact it's being published by Outright Games isn't promising. They don't exactly have much going for them.
I loved watching this show with my daughter. Hopefully the game is decent.
I really enjoyed the show, as basically all the stuff del Toro is involved this, but licensed stuff is still ... pretty worthless honestly. There have been a few exceptions, but if I had to wager, I'd say it's best to just forget about.
@Kriven Disagree. The story, character growth, and action started to move things forward.
Looks horrible.
And you make a game on this IP and not She-Ra or Voltron?!?!?
Gimme a Voltron game NOW.
Love the show, looking forward to the third show. The gameplay trailer does not fill me with confidence
I love trollhunters, but this game looks kinda bland to me.
@deucezulu22 i agree with you except for the ending and Jim's change of voice. (Not that that was their fault!)
Oof, no Kelsey Grammer, no buy. Sorry m8.
@GamingTelescope Ya I wasn't too happy about the ending either, but at least they left it open ended, if they ever decide to revisit the series. May Anton Yelchin rest in peace.
