Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 14th)

I’m about 75% through another Mario Odyssey play through and I’ve been playing Axelay and GoldenEye (again!) this morning.

Son is playing smash, wife will be playing 2.hospital. I won't get a look in!
My turn next week with on animal crossing!

Just beat Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky so I'm jumping right into Second Chapter. Just beat Rondo of Blood with Richter so now I'm trying a play through with Maria. A little Doom 2 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 on the side.

Been playing lots of Animal Crossing in preparation for next week. Specifically New Leaf and also どうぶつの森　(Animal Forest) on the N64.

I'm just going to be looting the Wild Area in Pokemon Shield, and surprise trading for non-Galar Pokemon like Litten and the like.

This week I will be mostly playing

Final Fantasy 7
Pokémon Diamond

Final Fantasy X-2 Remastered for me. Probably a level or two in Mario Maker 2, and I may also throw in some online MK8dx as I imagine lots and lots of people will be playing it these days.

This weekend i checked my PS3 games and i found my Ratchet & Clank A Crack in Time was died (Disc cannot be played with Error 8000 something) 😫
This is the third time my PS3 games "died" by mysteriously (The Sims 3 Pets, Toro Let's Party, Ratchet & Clank A Crack in Time)
I have never experienced disc died like that. It made me felt insecured with PS3 games i will buy if suddenly my PS3 games starting to show Disc Error.

But anyway... I played these 3 PS3 games.

1. Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
2. Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus
3. Final Fantasy XIII

After pretty much the whole week was split mostly between Xenoblade 2 and Shadow Dragon, what else is there to plan? Well, yes, the usual stuff I've been detouring towards I between the aforesaid sessions lately, so RF4, TMS, Spirit of Justice and perhaps I'll finally start that Langrisser demo I've been planning to taste for weeks. Maybe a bit of LCU TCB (as usual, the framerate is nowhere near the atrocity the word of mouth has painted... but the camera hardmapped to shoulder buttons is something I've yet to get used to) as well.

The usual game of Asphalt 9, and maybe Paladins as there's an event happening. Also, might boot up the GameCube for some Sonic Heroes, since I'm in the mood for it. Planning on these, but there may be other games too.

Murder by Numbers: just started case 3. Game is nuts for any Ace Attorney fan, but you must like Picross. For me this game is a match made in Heaven, I'm enjoying it a awful lot.

Okami: about to begin "part 3". It's still the most gorgeous game of all time and it'll have a place in my heart forever, but boy does it overstay its welcome a bit.

I'm still playing Murder By Numbers and it's still excellent. Apart from that I also started Fire Emblem Three Houses, which is a lot of fun, but my copy of Divinity Original Sin 2 arrived and I'm super hyped for that as well... it's going to be a busy weekend. ^^

@mauhlin12 Great selection of games! I'm planning on doing Trails in the Sky SC for JPRG July. I really enjoy picking up my PSP every now and again - it seems so light compared with the Switch, but the display is still pretty decent. Tempted to try Rondo of Blood there too.

I'm all about The Switcher at the moment, though. And will be for some time.

I’ve finished up Astral Chain which was really good, apart from one frustrating stealth bit towards the end.

I’ve picked up Guilty Gear Xrd Rev very cheap this week so I plan to play around in practice mode this weekend. Then maybe start Danganronpa 2.

Both aren’t Switch games, but they should be!

Kirby Super Star Ultra - Collected the last two treasures in The Great Cave Offensive earlier today. Milky Way Wishes is next.

Murder by Numbers - Replayed case 3 since I missed a puzzle and ended up with an A rank the first time. Started case 4 just now. Awesome game but that missable puzzle sure rubbed me the wrong way.

To those who don't want to end up in the same situation, go back to the bar once you've given the photo to your mom. A new puzzle appears in that room even though you couldn't investigate there few minutes earlier. Nothing else changes there. It disappears later once you move the story along by talking to your ex. You won't be revisiting the room in time if you just follow the story along.

Pokémon Shuffle - 6 more UX stages to S rank. Currently distracted by Darkrai escalation battle. I have a suspicion I may still need those Raise Max Levels.

These three are my main focus right now but other games I may be playing include: Samurai Shodown, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, DOOM and Dragon Quest XI.

I'll probably be back on Street Fighter Collection - I've already played it more than Smash and I only bought the SF collection a month or so ago. My issue with Smash is it assumes you've played previous versions (which I haven't)...I'll probably throw that back on too just for the hell of it.

DOOM literally can’t put it down! And Yoshi crafted world when I do

For unknown reasons I've decided to finally start Paper Mario N64 which has been sitting on my WiiU virtual console for years. First time I've played it despite Thousand Year Door being one of my all time favourite games.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and St Dragon on Arcade Archives. I might try Warface's daily PvE, too.

I'm really struggling to get in to Final Fantasy 7 (eshop). It's like the whole game is the worst bit of Ocarina of Time with all the rendered backgrounds (where you think you can go somewhere and can't) and the disjointed artwork is hit and miss. The environments are drab. I can only imagine the hell of having load times when it originally came out.
So if they ever remake 6, I hope to God they keep it faithful and give it the Octopath treatment. It has totally reinforced how much I revere that game.

I'm off work this weekend so I'll keep chipping away at Octopath Traveler, Doom II and Mystic Quest from the Collection of Mana

Will also play some Bubble Bobble 4 Friends with the kids. They'll be playing Math Land too, which they are really enjoying. I highly recommend it to any other parents looking for a decent education game on Switch.

Langrisser I & II, and I'm loving every minute of it.
I've got a feeling that this gem is going to slip past most people's radar.

Nioh 2. Brilliant but rock hard compared to completing Jedi Fallen Order. Hollow Knight on Switch. Loved this at first but became lost about where to go and what to do. After buying the map charm from the shop I am actually making some progress.

Currently playing Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the white witch, Really loving this game so far..

I do a Ring Fit Adventure session at least every other day and both days of the weekend, so that's first.

And I finally caved and bought the Civ VI expansion pack, which I've been struggling with all week. I have mixed feelings about it so far. Some of the new features are nice, but some of them just annoy me so much.

Resident evil 6 I had just bought a few days ago. I must say it feels great playing it on Nintendo especially online co op 👍

Been playing Stardew quite a lot. Thinking about getting Cattails maybe.

Insulating my loft sucks so will prob finish off my 999 moons Mario Odyssey run through ready for Animal Crossing next week!

Plugging away at Rayman Legends where i can grab a bit of time, it's still blowing my mind a bit how good it is.

Otherwise I will dive into Super Mario Maker 2 for the first time (!) and am also building up to my first playthrough of Super Metroid...

I finally started the Witcher 3 last night. I am just a little ways into it, but I can already see why it’s so popular. I am never bored, even in the longest conversations! It’s all so good

@SuperCharlie78 I agree about Okami!!! I like it very much and it plays like I wish so many other games would... why does it feel like it goes on for so long? What do you think it could do better?

@Hunter-D Civ VI is my top Switch game by a country mile. I hit 200 hours on it before I bought the expansion pack. There's no other game like it on the Switch, and the Switch port is very, very good. I had my doubts originally about playing a full-fledged 4X game on a console, but they did an amazing job. Some minor slowdown and very long loading at startup are my only complaints about the base game.

The expansion pack I'm not sure about yet. I've played about 20 hours with the Gathering Storm rules, and the jury is still out. They made really nice improvements to the map and made the game more dynamic and lively, but they added some visibility issues (I can't see what my towns are producing because of the changed banners) and added a ton of chaos. Maybe it's just been bad luck, but I've had rampaging barbarians and non-stop natural disasters from the moment I installed the DLC.

So maybe hold off on the DLC, but definitely get the base game. It's an amazing timesink.

Battling my way through Hollow Knight, Slay the Spire (natch), DQ11S... Somewhere along the line I need to remember I have a PS4; it rarely gets a look in these days.

I'm finishing Pokemon Sword and intend to pass on a run on the first Dragon Quest games.

I'm nearing the end of Link's Awakening, as I just made it to Level 8 - Turtle Rock. I'm loving this game so much more than the original outing. The overworld especially. What a fun and lush world to explore.

My wife and I are still playing Knights and Bikes as well. We're more than halfway through. It's quite a bit of fun, and gives you the feeling of being a kid on an adventure of your own. The lack of direction and slightly sloppy combat brings it down a peg, but the atmosphere is very absorbing.

I can't really decide what to play after Link's Awakening though. Maybe Mutant Blobs Attack, which I picked up on sale a few weeks ago.

Now that it seems everyone is quarantined. I dug through my whole retro collection and dusted off the old Wii U and am replaying Zelda Windwaker HD. Forgot how much I love this Zelda universe!

I have been playing Namco Smash Tennis non stop. It is driving me crazy especially with the defective Joycon. Thank Nintendo.

For a while now I have been playing:
1. Stardew Valley - it is a very relaxing game and amazing piece of gaming art, especially given that it is the work of a single individual.
2. Dauntless - I am not one for free-to-play games, but this one is quite well-designed so that you don’t feel pressured into spending money. Also it supports cross-play, so I can move over to the PS4 when my son decides to play on the Switch.

I'm trying to finish up Ni No Kuni before Animal Crossing releases. I just keep wasting my time grinding away for hours and hours all week lol.

I need to get back to Metro 2033 Redux, which I was really enjoying until Ni No Kuni showed up and took over.

Just beat Ganon in Breath of the Wild last night, so I'll be taking a break from that before doing dlc. Got Achievement Hunter's 12 hour stream today, so not sure what I'll be playing. Probably get some CTR or Smash Bros Ultimate in though.

Trying to beat dq 11 before animal crossing releases. Not sure how much I have left. Just returned to sniflheim.

Replaying Breath of the Wild past couple weeks. 18 shrines left to go, should be finished by monday. Also getting some Doom (1993) in occasionally.

Another busy weekend here, but I did manage to beat Ori and the Blind Forest yesterday evening. In a little while, I plan to start Link's Awakening on the Switch! I've played through the DX version a couple of times on the 3DS VC and loved it.

There will be a bit of Pokemon Go this weekend as usual. The Community Day has been postponed, but I'll still be going on my Sunday walk. There are some trails nearby with markers registered as stops.

I’m playing “hide the animal crossing edition switch” from my daughter until it’s her bday later this week. We will both be getting New Horizons on Friday, as long as GameStop isn’t closed for pandemic reasons.
Covid-19 appeared in the community here, so schools are closed. Having far too many games at home makes it easier to socially isolate, though! I’ll probably play Smash Ultimate or Mario Kart 8 with the girls, though I try to get them to play Ultimate Chicken Horse or Shaun the Sheep with me. After their bedtime I’ll go back to Dead Cells on Switch and Persona 5 on my PS3. Both of those compete for my playtime lately.

I finished Ori and the Blind Forest two days ago and I can safely say it’s one of the best game experiences I’ve had in years. I was hoping it would have lasted me another week to get me to Animal Crossing, but now I’ve got to find something from my backlog to play for the next seven days to tide me over. I’m thinking I should finally crack open Undertale or maybe just play something lighter, like the story mode in Just Shapes and Beats or just just do some busy work like breeding and training some more Pokémon in Pokémon Shield. But seeing as I’ll be inside more than usual over the next few days to avoid the coronavirus, I might be able to get all of that stuff done before next Friday.

Unfortunately i be play a real life game called work, but when i am at home, Be playing through Ultra moon and Sword, also give the new CoD warzone ago, along with Battlefront 2.

I'm getting very close to the end of Tokyo Mirage Sessions now so may even end up beating it! The aesthetic won't be for everyone, but I've really enjoyed it. One of my favourite games on Switch, up there with Xenoblade 2.

On the 3DS I'm still playing through Fire Emblem Birthright, and dipping in and out of AC: New Leaf.

Technically I can choose FF7. cause I'm playing the remake on my PS4

I’m playing through Fire Emblem: Awakening. I should have that finished by the time DOOM Eternal releases next Friday.

Just finished DOOM 2016 in prep for Eternal and I'm approaching the last battle on Three Houses. I'll probably play the FF7 demo a few dozen more times too...Also, replaying Trials of Mana in Japanese in prep for the remake!

I was looking forward, to playing Pokémon Go this Sunday for shiny Abra, but that's not happening for obvious reasons.

So instead for this weekend, I think I'll finally start Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped since it'll be nice to finally finish off the trilogy. Outside of that, I'll continue to play Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX as well, for a bit here and there.

I’ve had the itch to play Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 recently. Those are some of my favorite games, so it’s been a lot of fun to go back to them. Among them are my regular go-to games, Mario Maker, New Leaf, Dreams, BotW, and Three Houses (which I just finished up the Cindered Shadows DLC with).

I will also be playing some of Rune Factory 4 but despite it being my first game in the franchise and was really looking forward to it,I got to admit I find it a bit overwhelming with what I'm supposed to do.I've not really found any clear direction yet on what to concentrate on.

Splatoon 2 is all I play the last couple of weeks.

I was on the fence for a long time about Three houses, but got it yesterday. Also The Witcher blood and wine DLC is on my agenda for the coming time and maybe do some season 20 of Diablo 3. Plenty of options

Just got Super Mario Maker 2 on sale and I’m playing through ZX Advent. Ori 2 on XBox One as well.

Witcher3 (260 hours played) and Battlezone Gold edition

With Disney rushing Frozen 2 tomorrow to Disney+ (probably due to all the quarantining and school closings going on), a part of me hoped Nintendo would also throw us a a bone and surprise drop New Horizons early. But alas, the waiting game continues

I'll be finishing up Link's Awakening. My daughter rented A Hat in Time from the library. So we'll probably be diving into that. But I have such a backlog that I really had hoped to make a dent in before New Horizons. But that probably won't happen, lol

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for me this weekend whenever I have the chance. Not sure if I plan to do all the side stuff or just focus on the main story though.

A imported copy of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix (or in Japan; 初音ミク: Project DIVA MEGA39’s) for the last month after waiting for this game’s release since last July It’s existence alone satisfying the itch I had for the series since September 2015. (Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX on 3DS did mitigate it somewhat)

Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition - Having a blast with this so far. I have killed people in nearly half of the styles now.

Turtle's Quest (Windows Store) - I want to say that I'm in the endgame now.

Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles (Windows Phone) - Still trying to get used to the controls. I still prefer the Nintendo DS version.

Been hooked on super Mario maker 2 since i downloaded it in the sale a few weeks back. Made a few courses too so pls check them out. BSB-11T-XDG is my maker ID 😀

@IceClimbers I started Black Flag this week and I am loving the game. It’s my first Assassin’s Creed game but I am hooked!

for me i played and finished the Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare remaster campaign. and then i nearly am now at the end of Tales of Berseria.

Two Point Hospital on PC and Switch. Gotta 3 star all my current hospitals and move forward. Windscape, which is a very chill, indie Skyrimlike. It has some jank to combat encounters, but still fun. I love exploring and crafting in it. Crystal Crisis for some puzzle combat fun. Might grab Cities Skyline as its $10, and after watching many videos with 150k populations and up, I can deal with the little bit of slowdown. Will probably run down some more sidequests in Snack World too. Great little game.

@Krull Nice! Have you played Trails in the Sky First Chapter already? It directly sets up the events of Second Chapter so make sure you do. I'm playing it on Steam since I don't have a PSP or Vita. Pretty huge treasure troves of games on those handhelds. Rondo I'm playing on Wii VC (RIP.)

I am about 35 minutes into it, and it is awesome, but yeah, the jungle is really disorienting. I have found that I should not kill every gator I come across!

Last week when I was deciding what Switch game to play I made the mistake of booting up Fortnite again... Alas I’ve been sucked back into it!
I did pick up Mario Party today on sale so I can play with the kid.
On the Xbox front I’ve been continuing my adventure in Control- I’m stuck trying to beat the fridge boss. I can’t seem to get it! I’ve moved on to continue the story but I’m still thinking about it.

I am continuing my second playthrough of Fire Emblem Three Houses (Classic Hard).

I am now playing Megaman Z/ZX Collection, Paper Mario TTYD and rarely Zelda BotW. Decided to start with Megaman Zero 2 because it's one of my favorite from the Zero series. Can't decide which I like more, if Zero 2 or Zero 3.

Recently cleared Chapter 3 of Paper Mario 2, which is my second favorite chapter. Can't wait to reach the Chapter 5, my favorite chapter of all.

After finishing Doom and Splasher I’ve gone back to Captain Toads Treasure Tracker. Just started episode 2.

Gearing up for Animal Crossing. I'll try to make time for Persona 5 Royal, FF7 Remake, and the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC sometime in the near future. But with AC there's no guarantee.

@ryobi85 lol, I get your analogy, but didn't have the exactly same thing in mind. But Three Houses is quite greasy, as in, you are always doing "one more week".

Need...to buy...more...TOILET PAPER!!! But I might make some time to finish Ori and the Blind Forest. Truly a wonderful game.

Also played a bit of snes (switch) - mario world and smash tennis. Will likely rinse Ring Fit these coming weeks too.

Tempted to get some stuff in the sale, especially given how much time we're all likely to be at home now, but still got skyrim, mana collection, octopath and a whole bunch of other stuff to get through.

I needed a story-driven distraction so I finally picked up Astral Chain. It has been a big deviation from my normal gaming style, but I'm enjoying it so far.

I am slowly but surely making my way through the tutorials in Skullgirls 2nd Encore. Fantastic fighting game with a very welcoming tutorial. Can't wait for this upcoming Friday to play Animal Crossing New Horizons.

I decided to re-acquaint myself with Xenoblade Chronicles X last weekend. I've made it to the final chapter, and I have over 110 hours in it, but I had stopped playing several months ago because I wasn't enjoying it. After playing around with it a little this weekend and Google-ing ways to level up, I think I'm going to make a final push and try to finish it, just to say I did it. But I haven't enjoyed X nearly as much as I enjoyed Shulk's Chronicles. For anyone who didn't play the original Xenoblade Chronicles and is planning to get the HD re-release, you're in for a treat.
