At the end of February, The Pokémon Company unveiled the new 'Rogue Monkey Pokémon' Zarude. It'll be appearing alongside a pink Shiny Celebi in the upcoming film Pokémon the Movie: Coco and the Switch titles, Pokémon Sword and Shield.
As revealed earlier this week, Japanese fans who pre-book tickets to see the new movie will receive two codes allowing them to get their hands on both of these Pokémon. The first code for a Level 60 Shiny Celebi is redeemable from 17th April to 30th September, and the second code for the Dark/Grass-type mythical Zarude can be redeemed between 15th June and 30th September.
While there's still no word on whether we'll be able to get our hands on these same codes here in the west, we do now have a fresh batch of screenshots of these movie star Pokémon, directly from the movie website. Enjoy!

It reminds me of a Gremlin, in a good way.
it just doesn't look majestic enough to be a legendary
But will Zarude learn Sandstorm?
"Red Onion" Fairy
Looks pretty cool, I like it.
@Mrac DOO DOO. DOO DOO. DOO DOO. DOOTOODOOODOOODOOODOOOO -NGST- -NGST-
(Sorry it sounded more phonetically pleasing in my head..)
I like what I’m seeing with Zarude. He looks primeval and vicious just what an elder god should look like.. lol.
Is this the first time they released a shiny Celebi?
@joshuagamer it reminds me of Ms. Simian from The Amazing World of Gumball.
@Trikeboy Bulbapedia says it was impossible to get it in the West before the release of Crystal on the 3DS, so I guess it was possible to obtain it in some way, though I haven't played it so I don't know for sure. As for Japan, I don't know either, but I think the first time it was released was as an event in Emerald, but those tend to be shiny-locked.
On topic, Celebi is fantastic as usual, while Zarude and the two DLC legendaries are totally out of whack to me, I don't like 'em one bit.
I really like Zarude's design. If one Smash's Fighter Pass 2 characters ends up being a Pokemon from Sword and Shield, I wouldn't mind it being him. Cool design and I love the grass/dark typing. Not that I hate the eighth gen starters but I'd like to see some variety for Pokemon inclusions in Smash Bros.
A lion and a unicorn would have made so much more sense for legendaries in a UK inspired land than the Z wolves.
@Franklin I think the z wolves are a mild reference to American werewolf in London...
@Franklin Only Scotland would pick a mythical creature as its national animal. I love it.
@HappyMaskedGuy The national animal should be those 1 toed pigeons you get in the train stations.
It may be just me, but Zarude looks more of a final evolution than a legendary or mythical pokemon for that matter.
@nessisonett Aye, The Glasgow Central Mutant Pigeon.
