This is it, the month we've all been waiting for. After a small delay, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will finally be made available to Switch owners worldwide on 20th March. Believe it or not, but there are other games also being released this month as well.
If lifestyle sims aren't your thing, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series is also making a return early on in the month. This will follow on with the tactical role-playing series Langrisser. Then, on the same day as Animal Crossing, is the release of DOOM 64. Saint's Row IV: Relected will follow this one week later. At some point, we'll also get the new Cooking Mama game, so stay tuned for an update on that one.
Here's the full list of games coming to the Switch next month. To see each one in action, check out Zion's latest video above:
Murder by Numbers - March 5th
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX - March 6th
Langrisser I & II - March 10th

Oooh...!! 😲
Cooking Mama Cookstar !! 😃😃😃
Both Animal Crossing New Horizons and Cooking Mama Cookstar will definetely my purchase on April 2020.
I usually just make fun of the nothingness that makes of the bulk of these EXCITING new game lists but I pre-ordered ACNH yesterday so...
Anybody interested in One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, OP:PW3 is currently on sale on the US eShop for $11.99 until Wed/Thurs. At that price it's a rental/demo before spending $60 on the new one.
@Liam_Doolan If you had to make a video right now for the remaining 9 months of the year how sad would it look based on not having any release dates that I'm aware of? Sorry, that's just my long-winded way of asking:
Nintendo Direct when? 🤷♂️
@Anti-Matter Good month for you.
You know, seems like you've changed, 2 or 3 years ago you would have been freaking out - Oh no, Doom 64 and Saint's Row 4 on Switch, my life is ruined, won't somebody think of the children!". I admire you're ability to focus on the games you want, and not all the violent games you'll never play. Also helps cut down on all the trolls who are always attacking you.
Pretty stuck on Snack World. Still need to get Darksiders and Metro too. Not much in March for me (happy for you AC folk tho). Cant wait to play Doom 64 tho. Definitely will grab SR4 in 2 months when its $20 too. Nothing wrong with some portable super power shenanigans.
I already have Animal Crossing preloaded and A Street Cat's Tale looks interstung
Isn't LA-MULANA 1 and 2: Hidden Treasures Edition coming out in March too?
@rjejr I can only think of a handful of games right now (some aren't even full games). I'll definitely check out the Trials of Mana remake in April and I'm looking forward to the release of the Expansion Pass for Sword and Shield. I'm annoyed the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Remastered Edition got delayed and I'm anticipating the release of No More Heroes 3 at some point this year. No doubt I've left out a few.
Animal Crossing and everything else is just whatever, hopefully we see a real Nintendo Direct next month but roumor is there will only be an Indie World presentation for March
I know it's been delayed with no set realease date now but I'm still holding out hope for outerworld to be released on switch still in March.
I just got Metro in the post. It looks bloody gorgeous!
@KBuckley27 I'm hoping for a direct also. I hope since it's been taking so long that it's going to be really good.
@Liam_Doolan I know there are games this year, I have no doubt we wont' be left completely high and dry - end of the world by virus not withstanding - but there seems to certainly be a lack of solid release dates. Only 7 games in April have dates, and that's only 32 days away. Still no date for Xenoblade Chronicles beyond rumours.
I checked the list, exactly 1 game w/ a date in May, only 2 months away. (Or maybe the NL list just needs some updating. )

I'll look forward to FFCC once we see more of it. I never played the original only owning 1 Gamecube and 1 Gameboy but no cable. W/ a family of 4 it could be fun. Family Christmas gift maybe.
Year 4, I expect more.
WAS THAT A FRICKIN' JOJO REFERENCE?!
Already have PMD, Animal Crossing, and Saints Row 4 predownloaded 👌🏽
After AC:NH the only thing I'm interested in at this point is FFCC.
Langrisser, Animal Crossing, Mystery Dungeon and La-Mulana collection will all be mine for sure.
With Saints Row and Doom 64 also being under heavy consideration.
A really strong month for the Switch after an abysmal first two months for the year.
Not a single game I'm interested in. But I'm hoping that March will bring one of the following:
Jedi Academy
Cuphead DLC
Panzer Dragoon
Never was really drawn to Animal Crossing. Only game I’ll pick up is Doom 64.
@sketchturner Jedi Academy’s on there already!
@Bman2425 well its ether a Nintendo Direct or another Indie World presentation in March or neither and we have to wait till April to get new game announcements
@Brady1138 Jedi Outcast is out. They said Academy was later
Glad other people are excited for these games. I get to save my money and try to patiently await a Nintendo Direct....or E3 if Nintendo decides to be crazy secretive.
Just waiting for animal crossing.
@Anti-Matter Both games I am planning to buy too. Will be my first ever experience with an Animal Crossing game and the first Cooking Mama game I've bought since the original on the Nintendo DS..cant wait!
Another month of “meh” on Switch.
Already $120 in the hole with Nioh2 and DOOM in March. So nintendo needs to do a lot better than this for me to spend more.
@Bman2425 Yeah, I'm still crossing my fingers for Outer Worlds, too.
Direct. Please. Nintendo. Come on. Please...........
After not really buying any Switch games in January/February, March will be a pretty big month for me and I'm really looking forward to it.
Definitely Buying
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
My Hero One's Justice 2
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX
On The Fence
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger
I know a lot of people are super hyped for Animal Crossing and while I plan on picking it up (it'll be my first AC game), the game I'm looking forward to the most is My Hero. I absolutely love the My Hero Academia anime series and enjoyed the first One's Justice game, so the sequel is my most anticipated game for March.
So, I'm 100% buying Animal Crossing: New Horizons... I've even preloaded it on both my Switches. Now I just have to decide which console I want my primary island on.
DOOM 64 is also a for-sure purchase, but that'll be on PC. I found aiming with the joycons to be a pain.
I'm considering Murder by Numbers, but I'm hoping we get a pre-release review. Unsure about it.
Instead of just asking for a comment, it would have been much more interesting to have us vote. 🤨 But anyway... I’m definitely getting Animal Crossing and Cooking Mama. Would have gotten Pokémon DX but I already have the original DS version, and that’s good enough for me. In fact I just started a new game of Mystery Dungeon Sky to tide me over till Animal Crossing comes out.
@GrailUK I caved in and ordered that too. Not arrived yet.
As for the list
Doom 64 I’ll get.
Anyone know if Ty is getting a physical?
What Star Wars games are confirmed for switch so far? New Lego complete and Academy.... anything else?
@sketchturner wait what!?!?!?
Jedi Academy!!@!@?
This?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/6020/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Knight__Jedi_Academy/
I plan on buying Doom 64, and possibly Animal Crossing.
Meh nothing exciting for me
Animal Crossing and Saints Row 4, which I have never played. Kind of surprised no one has mentioned it yet.
Animal Crossing and Doom 64 are the only games on my list, I might get Cooking Mama one day if it goes on sale or something.
@guamyankee SR4 is sort of the black sheep for the franchise.
Animal crossing is a must buy for me in march 😃
From those, I am only interested in Ty and Saints Row 4, nothing else.
Animal Crossing, Mystery Dungeon, more than like Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, and mayyyybe Doom 64, and that's just here... 🤔 Better month than I thought.
@Hikingguy Google probably paid Forever to focus on the Stadia version instead of the Switch and Steam versions.
https://venturebeat.com/2020/02/13/panzer-dragoon-remake-flies-to-stadia-as-google-reveals-new-games/
Doom 64 for me. Take a walk on the wild side @antimatter ! X
Bruh. La Mulana 1 and 2.
Where the hell is “Panzer Dragoon”?
Wow, nothing for me this month. Surprising, although it's good to save some money.
Now we need a DIREEEEECT! Because I still don't know what else I want for the rest of the year lol
Add me to the “where’s Panzer Dragoon” crowd.
@tgchan Yes, it's supposed to come to Switch in "early 2020."
@Brady1138 I wish you were right, but only Outcast is out so far. Academy is supposedly coming soon.
Good month. Animal Crossing is of course the big one, but I'm also interested in Pokemon, DOOM, Saints Row and the Langrisser collection.
One’s Justice 2 & AC will be definite purchases. Some others will go on my list, but they’ll be behind a few other things I still need to get to.
@sketchturner JA indeed. Where’s that game? Haven’t heard anything in a while now.
Great Month for Nintendo Switch! Looking forward to it!
@tgchan yes that one. Part 2 is already on Switch you know..
Is Doom Eternal not coming to the Switch in March?
Got all the dooms available on sale. So worth.
Doom Switch got a baaaaaad wrap. But man is it cherry. Its gunna hold me over for animal crossing. And will get doom eternal and doom 64 on release too. After seeing the quality that was missed out on with doom and being so mad that i listened to others saying it was unplayable and ugly i can say doom in handheld and docked work great. So i will have all of the doom on my switch. With pleasure. Cant wait for animalcrossing 20 more days!❤️
Looks good but going to try to tackle my backlog until crossing comes out.
Hellooooooo, Johnny Gat <3 Missed you, man!
@fadedcolors We might get one on April 1st. Not to joke around but Nintendo does had a history of announcing real news on the fakest day of the year.
@GrailUK Oh! I was under the impression it was just sneakily added on the same day Jedi Outcast was, but it’s clearly not on the eshop. Well thanks for letting me know! It’s a criminally overlooked game, FAR better than Outcast imo
There's a demo for Langrisser out now on the eshop if anyone wants to try it.
Aside from New Horizons, I have my eyes on Saints Row IV (aka my favorite game in the series) and Doom 64. However, Animal Crossing's going to be the only D1B for me.
Langrisser 1/2 will most likely be a day one purchase for me! Also it may be the first day one purchase I ever make in my life hahah. (Always have gotten games later, and I don't recall getting a game on day one of its release.)
@Hikingguy Stadia doesn't get covered too much here on NL but the commenters over on PS get their panties in a bunch about once a week over timed exclusives. PS4 has more indie games to buy off then Switch does. I can't imagine Stadia lasting too long as is but maybe they have some plan to make it worthwhile but they just need some time to get it right. Like the Switch OS and My Nintendo Rewards. 😂
Animal crossing
Doom
Is RPG Maker still on the 20th also?
@Brady1138 No worries man
@IceEarthGuard I pre-ordered it the day it was possible lol! Warsong was my fave Megadrive game and we finally get to play it's sequel!
I’ve kept myself in the dark with animal crossing because every one I’ve owned I’ve put in way too many hours so I’ve tried my best to read anything on it but screw it, I’ll just pre order it
doom 64 nuff said
I was really interested when I saw the previews for Langrisser on the 3DS, but then it got awful reviews and even fans of the series mostly trashed it. It will be interesting to see what happens with this one.
One AAA title, couple of anime franchises and rest are like mobile games. Switch need more quality big games not more indies-shovelware
