Last weekend, the 'Feh Channel' on YouTube revealed Fire Emblem Heroes would be introducing a new subscription-based service. Version 4.2.0 is now live, meaning you can now purchase the 'Feh Pass' for $9.49 (or the regional equivalent).
If you sign up, you'll gain access to multiple benefits. This includes the distribution of two resplendent heroes per month, as well as four perks each month. Below are the full patch notes, courtesy of Perfectly Nintendo:
The new Feh Pass subscription service is now available. Plus, the 3rd Anniversary celebration is in full swing!
- Adds the Feh Pass (monthly subscription, $9.49). Offers the following benefits:
- 1) Resplendent Heroes (+ resplendent costumes unlocked for other versions of those Heroes). Features new voices and visuals, and +2 bonus to all of their stats. 2 Resplendent Heroes per month on the 10th and 25th of every month (9th and 24th when DST is off), that will also be available for purchase separately after distribution period has ended.
- 2) Special Feh Pass Quests (twice every month, alongside the Resplendent Heroes)
- 3) Expanded Summoner Support, bond with up to 3 Heroes
- 4) Re-Act, allows you to return to the start of the previous turn if your Heroes have yet to act, and to the start of the current turn if your Heroes have already acted. Works even if you get a Game Over, and can be used as many times as you want. However, cannot be used in the Coliseum and Aether Raids.
- 5) Auto-Start, allows you to play the same map several times in a row (provided you have stamina remaining). Can be used in Training Tower, Tempest Trials+, Forging Bonds. In Tempest Trials+, it automatically switches teams.
- Aether Raids and Aether Resort are being updated
- The structure limit is being updated (max. number of offensive structures: 5 > 6)
- Three new songs are being added to the Concert Hall
- Royal Palace of Silesse (Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War)

Hahahahahah- No 😐
Each and every day I tell myself these subscription services would be an amazing beniefiet for Switch Online Members. Just give anyone with an Online membership free access to these subscription services, thus not only increasing the mobile playerbase but also giving Switch Online Members more benefiets for the service.
I love Fire Emblem - FEH really isn't Fire Emblem. It lacks the heart and soul of the series. FEH reduces beloved characters down to the faceless throwaway characters of Advance Wars or Wargoove, while I love those games, Fire Emblem always provided a different experience. In FE your units matter, both for story immersion and the time you've spent levelling them and training them in their skills. FEH just does deliver that feeling to me.
Add to the fact that getting new units is based mostly around gatcha mechanics rather than story progress or any more traditional and controllable unlock method...
I played FEHs for a time, but once the novelty of Lucina, Ike and Lyn on the same team wore off, so did my interest.
@patbacknitro18 That would be a real nice perk.
For 1 Mobile game 🙃
Feh pass is a total joke - so disappointing..
No, I don't think that I will.
@patbacknitro18 : Nintendo already have 15 million paying NSO customers for doing virtually nothing that wasn't already previously available at no additional charge on DS/3DS/Wii/Wii U. It's quite possibly the easiest money that they have ever made.
But why stop there?
Pokémon Home should also have been an additional feature extended to NSO subscribers, but instead, they want fans to pay for NSO, Home, Bank, and DLC, with the addition of console game pricing for Sword/Shield while still providing less content, even after factoring in these expenses, than the far cheaper 3DS games. The DLC packs for Sword/Shield cost nearly as much as what I was paying for the DS/3DS games back in the day, and they were complete, tangible games, so to hell to any claim that DLC is cheaper than a third version/sequel. If people think third versions are too expensive, they can sell the initial version and use that money to cover the third version. Problem solved. But Nintendo/Game Freak wanting to sell us two versions of what is essentially the same game, charge us console game pricing, and add paid DLC on top of that? Not even EA lost my goodwill so quickly.
People indulging these sorts of post-purchase transactions are only further incentivising publishers to continue to withhold content, and it's just amazing how sheepish people continue to make excuses for piggish corporations. These multi-billion corporations are not destitute.
$120 a year for what is essentially just mobile game DLC? That’s just excessive.
Please comment if you do buy it. So i can laugh and mock such idiocy
No thanks, ive finally gotten around to starting FE 3 houses (you know a real FE) and I'm absolutely loving it.
They already experienced an error...
@Judal27 Great game - it only gets better. Enjoy!
@Judal27 yep absolutely quality game, unlike this mobile phone nonsense. Closing in on Breath of the Wild for most time played on my Switch!
@Silly_G you actually has to pay all the games you get with NSO online on the other systems so no it wasn't free.
Hey- I got an idea!
... HOW ABOUT NO?
No. It's a ripoff. Unless they charge 5-10 cents per orb, I ain't giving FEH anything.
“Sign up today”
Is this a joke NL? Classic internet deadpan that went straight over my head!
Sign me up baby !
I'm really disappointed. Locking out QoL features and buffed up units behind a paywall is really crappy of them. Isn't FEH their most profitable mobile game by a large margin anyway? This is completely unncessary and will only divide the player base further and push away day 1 F2P players such as myself.
Yeah....no....into the trash it goes.
The problem is idiots will buy it. The companies involved will be emboldened and it appears in other games you like.
Also wtf happened to FE. It’s become such a weebo pandering service. I literally hate the thing now and worry that if they brought back Advance Wars “fans” as in “Fanatics” would act way too creepy without them realising how damn creepy they are (wtf is with that. Why do they behave in such odd ways yet have no clue they’re doing it. Talk about bad brains). They gross us out with their underage fawnings. They use all kinds of mental gymnastics to get out of it too. “Well in Japan they’re just this minute turned the age of consent so you can now…” I won’t finish that as you all know what those sickos are like.
Just watch. I’ve been gathering and screenshotting “people” like that for years whenever I come across it on gaming websites and art websites. Shame they poison the community. Wish they’d just go away with their “technically it’s hebephilia” nonce-sense.
I'm trying to forget this overpriced sub vs Game Pass Ultimate.
@Silly_G Great points, totally agree. But as @Mynameishello points out, the whales will buy this. And they will do this on more games in turn.
I never liked DLC and microtransactions, and they led to these season passes. Next, it will be $60 for the first half of a game, $60 for the second half a year later. From all companies, not just Nintendo. Then $60 for for the DLC/microstranscations. And as you see EA is making a killing with FIFA, the main consumers will buy this stuff up in droves.
I had a choice do I reinstal fire emblem heroes and pay 12€ a month for stupid orbs or play 3 houses for 0€ a month... So I bought the 3 houses season pass for 18€ because I got some credit on my paypal account from google survey.
That's an insane amount of money for added content in a mobile game, I think maximum 2.99€ would have been "fair" (I'd still never buy it). But as several of you mentioned above, many will probably pay
don't reward Nintendo for such naked greed
@Silly_G Kinda went off topic there..
Fire Emblem Heroes has the same summoning rate problem as many of these mobile games. I had to stop spending money on FEH because it will always be a money hole.
I remember when Fire Emblem was just a fun little strategy game series. Now it has become this terrible thing.
I can’t get over that price - $120 dollars a year. Wow. I really hope people don’t go for this.
@quinnyboy58 @Agramonte sounds great can't wait to catch up.
As usual NL & N under informs... is that price per hour, per month, what.. many more details are needed. if you're going to call yourself a 'journalist' at least learn some remedial rules of journalism, please. Hint: Five W's and an H.
