Mewtwo is about wreck everyone in my copy of Pokemon Shield XD
@Tantani great point little miss sunshine
@Tantani over privileged crybaby
Yay...Mewtwo and the Legendaries from Gen V ! 😃
Now I need someone to hook me up with a hopefully legit Marshadow.
Alolan Raichu!
I need someone to give me all of them.
KEEP GOING, ADD MORE 😁 👍 Especially the Johto starters, I miss my Chikorita 😔
I need the 3 starters from sun and moon, can anybody hook me up?
Is the Let's Go feature linking to Go working again, i fancy a Meltan in Sword/Shield.
@Rodan2000 over privileged?
So now Refusing to pay 90$ (Before Pokémon home costs....) for buggy and incomplete game with less content than a 2007 game that cost 40$ with graphics that aren’t as good as a 1998 games with a world that only become alive once you are close enough.... even in cities.... is being over privileged? Ok lol
I played every Pokémon game, including this one (took my friend copy) and this is not one of the best.... especially in switch 2020 ow standard
Gen 1 and Gen 7 starters are nice, but i really hope the remaining starters also get into sword/shield (or a least gen 3, i really want my blaziken)
Already started using it last night. Brought over a few Pokémon from Let’s Go. Going to connect to Bank today. Home ya very nice, just wish there was a way to check compatibility from within the app before transferring.
Transfering Pokémon from 3DS games to Switch should be 100% free, simple as that.
Old Pokémon games had this system where you can't have all Pokémon with only one game, you needed to have the previous games in the series to make a transfer, but transfering was free, and didn't even need internet.
Only adding legendaries and select starters is disappointing. Can’t wait for the next line up haha
Laughs in Dragon Quest
Nooooo where is Abra and Kadabra ;(
Cool, hoping for a few breedable efforts from surprise trade
While I'd like to see all the starters in the game, I'm glad they at least added in the rest of the Kanto starters. Having only the Charmander line without Squirtle and Bulbasaur felt really weird.
@victordamazio in fairness, it hasn't been free since Gen 6, you needed to pay for Pokemon Bank to transfer anything from Gen 5 and earlier to the 3DS games.
@victordamazio transferring from Blue to Silver required buying an extra Gameboy! That wasn't cheap.
@Tantani Actually yeah; back in 1998 my family couldn’t afford a gaming console so I consider myself pretty privileged to have been able to buy a Switch for myself (second hand at that) and later a Switch Lite for my SO.
You are however welcome to just not buy a game, it’s a luxury product. But being abusive online will not win you any friends.
Dang I just paid to renew my expired Pokemon Bank the other day. Still not sold on the premium plan for Pokemon Home yet. Maybe once I have more SwSh Pokemon I might buy in.
Are these tradable?
Well this was datamined before launch but I suppose it’s exciting for people who didn’t know.
@Tantani or, you can look at it the way most people do. These 35 weren’t announced yet, and it’s nice to have them in the game.
@SmaggTheSmug abusive online?
I am allowed to criticize a product that didn’t deliver what was promised and expected
If you had a hard time to buy a console as a kid, you should understand the how important it is to get quality in return for your money
And if gamefreak want us to pay for an AAA game, they should give more content and better everything than the 40$ games, not a lazy game that was delivered to us fulled of promises that weren’t delivered at all
If they want to go pay extra for a dlc, they should give even more content
And god dammit, why do they sell us a 15$ a year 10MB cloud service????? This is unbelievable practice....
@Friendly they were announced, they were just not available
Interesting, they changed the walking/running animations for Primarina, it used to do this seal-like shuffling over the ground, now it swims through the air, wild Primarina in one of the DLC-packs?
Can you use z moves and megas in sword and shield?
So when the list of available Pokémon gets slowly added to over time, does that change the requirements to get a certificate for catching them all?
It's nice having Alolan Ninetails and Rapidash.....but then they hatch the Galarian forms. And they don't appear on the Pokédex.
It's cool but the game seems unprepared for this - even that Galar form slowpoke doesn't register
BULBASAUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST BOI RETURNS
@Tantani I agree about the subscription, I already have to pay for the internet and Switch Online. Asking people to pay extra for cloud storage (which NSO was supposed to deliver) is just dishonest and exploitative. Being a PC gamer primarily I had a hard time justifying to myself paying for online multiplayer that a few games on the system offer for free and which doesn’t even do the advertised cloud storage for flagship titles like Pokémon or Splatoon.
@SmaggTheSmug @Tantani There is a simple solution that everyone has available to them, but sales charts pretty much say that despite the online complaining (which let's be honest is cheap and carries little true weight if all things are considered) no one is actually using it.
Gaming always has been and always will be a luxury purchase. Back in my childhood that meant you hustled what few games you had in borrowing, rented, or just did without. Otherwise, you were one of the less fortunate that got an Atari 2600, Jr in 1986 and made due.
These days, at least they offer F2P games (despite all the negatives, they are still usually playable), Subscription services that offer multiple more games for a much lower price, mobile games which usually are dirt cheap, plus the bargain lines of plug-n-play/bargain consoles.
While I don't agree with Nintendo's pricing in general, the fact is they keep setting sales records with it. So the internet's gripes may be many, but they are collectively still shelling out the cash for the privilege of being abused.
@Darknyht bro, idk if you played, but this game “open world” aspect is a dead world where Pokémon appears from thin air when you go close enough, you don’t see them in the distance
Same in cities, You might see hundreds of meters before you inside a city, but the NPC won’t appear until you are close enough
The whole world is freezing when you climb a leader....
And this is just the tip of the iceberg....
This thing sold like mad, as it seems it might be the best selling Pokémon game since gen 2, 100% the most profitable game in the series (maybe but gen 1, idk)
And yet, this is not a great game, nothing good compared to previous games, gen 6 and 7 weren’t great in terms of the series, but this was straight up insulting
@Jimez I don't think that ever stopped working
@Tantani Nope, my only experience with Pokemon was a Gamecube game and Pokemon Go. Apparently there is something that is appealing to others, else the sales numbers wouldn't be there. Hardcore fanbases will only carry you so far.
I missed the Pokemon craze at the start. I had retired the Gameboy/Super Gameboy for the Playstation at that point, and really never had any interest until I tried the first Gamecube Pokemon game. I've been a "player" of Pokemon Go since 2016, but just reached level 5 today (amazing what I caught from my desk at lunch).
Another small correction: The original form of Slowpoke can not be added.
@Floof_Cat I also found this the hard way. I guess it will be available once DLC drops with Slowbro and Slowking.
@Darknyht it is beyond me the reason this game is so successful, I guess “benefit of the the doubt” “switch craze” and the “false marketing“ all played a role in this
This game will lead us to lazier game in the future.... it is sad what Pokémon become in recent years....
Meanwhile, hackers have already added in all of the deleted Pokémon ages ago.
@Darknyht Pokémon has always been successful simply because the core concept of it (catch monsters, fight other monsters to make them stronger, catch stronger monsters, make them even stronger, etc) is just really fun. The GameCube games and especially Pokémon Go aren't representative of 'real' Pokémon games so they don't really show off why so many people buy the 'real' games. If the next Pokémon game could be finished in a matter of hours, cost 120 dollars up front and required you to have an always-on paid online connection, it would still sell like hotcakes because at its core the game would still be fun. This is why the games suddenly cost 50% more but had 50% less to do. This is why they still sell the exact same game with a handful of exclusive bytes twice. This is why Game Freak can get away with anything. They're some of the richest developers in the world, but also some of the most incompetent. If in another timeline we'd have had FIFAmon instead of Pokémon, developed by EA, people would be furious about the drop in quality over time (that being said, despite EA's awful business practices, they actually hire developers who know how to program and their graphically intensive games run better than the graphically simple Pokémon), but alas we have Pokémon, which is fun and therefore Game Freak is holy.
A side benefit is that you can get the version-exclusive Galar Forbes by breeding the originals. Finally have my Ponyta and Corsola lines!
Has anyone else noticed that the newly added Pokemon don't appear in the Pokedex?
I sent all of those Pokemon into Pokemon home as a reference to team rocket prepare for trouble all dynamax Pokemon are going to get there but whooped
@CapnRustyBeard A few of the legendaries included for this Home update were already confirmed to be findable in the DLC expansions, so the dex will probably update around the release of those. Since the Pokemon in the DLCs are still obtainable for free, the dex expansion will likely be free as well.
