If you missed the news last week, SteamWorld Quest is going on sale in physical form today. The Switch console exclusive is a particularly solid and satisfying card battler well worth your time, but there's another reason you might want to pick up a copy, too.
Super Rare Games has confirmed that, should SteamWorld Quest sell well, it has been given the go-ahead to also release both SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Dig: A Fistful of Dirt in lovely physical form. If you're hoping to have a full set of SteamWorld games on your shelf, this sounds like a pretty good opportunity.
SteamWorld Quest will be going live on the site at 6pm UK time today (so that's 10am PT / 1pm ET / 7pm CET) and will be available for £30. It comes with all of the usual Super Rare extras which you can see below and is limited to 7,000 copies.
Are you a fan of the series? Are you thinking of getting yourself a copy of SteamWorld Quest today? As always, let us know down below.

I liked other steamworld games but after playing hollow knight, no metroidvania can compare to hollow knight in terms of gameplay, story, and music. This games going to have to be really good for me to buy it.
UPDATE: I realised this is a card game I'm gonna pass lol
@PickledKong64 It's a turn based rpg with card mechanics though, not a metroidvania.
@Hinade sorry I realised that and that's why you read be4 commenting. I played steamworld dig and dig 2
@Hinade also I'm still not interested card games suck
just make another heist
I've been looking forward to this all day.
And I especially want them physical copies of Dig and Heist, to go along with my physical copy of Dig 2.
@PickledKong64 Imo Ori is right there with Hollow Knight and in some ways better. Steamworld Dig 2 is also right there.
@Spoony_Tech haven't played ori but it's on my watchlist. Gonna pick it up when it goes on sale. Hopefully it will go on sale during black friday
Sell well? How will it sell well if there's only going to be 7,000 copies made?
@MsJubilee
They need to sell through the amount they're produced to secure capital for future publications, they're a pretty small operation.
The past few releases have struggled to completely sell through, with exception to Evoland which sold through very quickly (not including some bundled copies)
@jockmahon Another Heist? Omfg yes!
Only Steam World game I haven't played. Little reason to try when I hear sooooo much love for Slay the Spire. Quest (even thought it has some JRPGgness to it) seems dinky in comparison. Some dev trouble with the initial concept/system for the game and I feel like the card thing was the only solution they could think of.
Since i ordered the 3 pack of games in advance i got my copy of SteamWorld Quest 3 days ago. if your going for a full collection you can't beat the 3 months worth of games preorders. I proudly display my whole sealed Super Rare Collection of 23 games.
EDIT: By proudly display i mean in the basement where the misses told me to put them.
Ordered the game
I ordered one I really enjoyed playing the digital version.
I ordered the triple pack and bought the digital.
I don’t like the ransom way some people are doing things like this. “Buy lots of this and we might bring you the others!” Just makes me not want to buy it for that reason
I would pay AAA prices for a Heist 2
Ordered hours ago. Didn't have time to try Heist yet, but Steamworld is an awesome series.
@Dang69 prob my fav game on switch and ive about 35
@aSmilingMan best game on switch, cowboy space robots, come on?!
@jockmahon yup! The gameplay is excellent. I wish other studios gave this gameplay style a shot too.
@jockmahon It's in my second row of "sorted by most played Switch game" (if I don't count youtube and hulu). And I have between 150 and 160 Switch games (not all played mind you). I'd die for another Heist.
