Pikavee

You may have heard that any Pokémon Sword and Shield players that also have a Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu! or Let's Go Eevee! can claim a free Pikachu or Eevee depending on the save file they have on their Switch.

This is indeed true! Anyone with a save file for either Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let's Go Eevee! (or both if you have both games) can unlock Pikachu and/or Eevee in the latest Pokémon game and use these Gen 1 legends as you journey through the Galar region.

How do you unlock Pikachu and Eevee in Pokémon Sword and Shield, though? Read on and all will be revealed

How do you claim your Pikachu or Eevee from Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eevee! in Pokémon Sword and Shield?

Well, unlike the way you claim the special Gigantamax Meowth, Pikachu and Eevee aren't unlocked through the Mystery Gift screen in the pause menu.

Loitering

Instead you must wait until you arrive at the Wild Area Train Station on your way to Motostoke. Exiting the train into the station, you'll see two people loitering to the left of the turnstiles. Assuming you've got the requisite Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eevee! save file(s), talking to them will unlock Pikachu and/or Eevee for use in your copy of Pokémon Sword or Shield. Easy!

And that's it! Let us know how you're getting on with your Pikachu and Eevee in Pokémon Sword and Shield below.
