Good news for all you physical media lovers - Super Rare Games is bringing Evoland Legendary Edition to Switch in physical form with a limited run of 5000 copies. Evoland is an RPG from Shiro Games that evolves during your playthrough from monochrome, top-down gameplay to full 3D visuals with mechanics to match, with plenty of knowing nods to the classic role-playing games that inspired it. Check out the trailer above to see if that sort of thing floats your boat.

The Legendary Edition, which launched on Switch and other platforms earlier this year, combines the original game and its time-travel-based sequel into one package. It received middling-to-positive reviews back in February, but this month Super Rare Games will be making it a sweet physical package to tempt non-digital devotees.

In addition to that little Switch cartridge, the boxed version will include a 20-page colour manual (remember those?), an exclusive sticker and three randomly selected trading cards from a five card set. 'Interior artwork' is also singled out in the official blurb - a small detail, perhaps, but it's incredible what a difference it makes to a boxed game.

The physical version will cost you around £30 / $30 / €30 and pre-orders go live tomorrow (Thursday 10th October), with shipping scheduled for the week of 21st October. As with all Switch games, the cartridge is region-free and supports English, German, French and Japanese. Despite its lukewarm critical reception, the game's got a 'Very Positive' status on Steam, so if you're a fan of classic RPGs (and the odd nod and wink to the past), this might be worth snapping up for your shelf.
