Last month, we found out an entire episode of Cartoon Network's OK K.O.! animated series would be dedicated to a crossover with Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower.
The episode aired on 4th August and was titled "Let's Meet Sonic". It saw the blue blur and the two-tailed fox visit the plaza to team up with the enthusiastic young boy named K.O. and save the day. If you didn't happen to catch this episode, or simply don't have access to Cartoon Network in your own region, you can at least watch the following two-minute clip below:
Once again, this is another great clip filled with plenty of fun references and iconic moves. If you would like to see a different scene from this particular episode, be sure to check out our previous post. In the coming weeks, Sega will also be featuring the people involved in making this episode come to life in its live streams over on the official Sonic YouTube Channel.
What do you think of the above video? Have you watched this animated series before? Tell us below.

Whoever animated this needs a freaking raise...
This was just fantastic!
Interestingly Sonic hasn't gone fast since 2003.
@AlienX I'm a little rusty on my obscure Sonic references... could you be so kind to add provide context?
@N00BiSH most Sonic 3D games have been garbage since 2003....
However, just about every Sonic cartoon since has been really good. So you win some you lose some
So far, dramatically better than that crap looking movie with the delay. Good job.
Meanwhile, Crash Bandicoot is ruining his reputation with Microtransactions.
@BloodyMurder
But it doesnt ruin the flow of gameplay at all. Ruin is a harsh over reaction
Great marketing move by Sega. I have to imagine that Sonic isn't nearly as well known by kids as he used to be. This is a good way to catch the attention of younger kids who don't have that nostalgia.
Then they can find a Sonic game somewhere to play and hopefully they pick one of the good ones. Which can be hard if you're going in blind. Sonic's had a lot of flops over the years.
@BloodyMurder naw, it's just Activision reminding everyone they are a wannabe EA and almost as greedy and self serving. Crash is a victim.
I love how they explained away the spindash. lol
@PBandSmelly Talk to me again in a couple of months when the pay to win stuff drops. We've already datamined that they'll be exchanging Wumpa coins for Nitro and some other unsavory stuff.
This is great. I love how they reference the instruction manual for Sonic 2
@N00BiSH It's not what ItsOKToBeOK says, I still think 1999-2009 were the best years for 3D Sonic. Basically before they made every level last less than a minute.
Bear with me here, I was just poking fun at the fact that every Sonic article here shares the same 'gotta go fast' tagline, or some creative variation of it. 2003 = 4Kids licensed Sonic X in English and brought the aforementioned line into existence, no other piece of Sonic media has ever actually used the line, so it's bizarre that it's suddenly forced into everything now... even the movie.
@AlienX EXACTLY!
It always bothered me that the line is always put into Sonic media except for the games!
Speaking of Sonic X though, that is actually my favorite Sonic TV show, would love for a reboot or season 4. Have less Chris and more that butler guy though.
@AlienX Pretty sure the Sonic Boom Tv show referenced it Also 06,Shadow and Black Knight better than Generations and Colors? Lol
There were more refrences to sonic in this than the amount of sonic games
That ”gotta go fast” joke is getting old, Liam.
Okay, I was not expecting that beach chair scene. Also, YEAH TAILS
Better than his upcoming movie I suppose. Hey at last it got Tails this time.
"In the coming weeks, Sega will also be featuring the people involved in making this episode come to life in its live streams over on the official Sonic YouTube Channel."
The makers of the episode are dead? And we are going to watch them be reanimated? On Segas YouTube channel?!
@Decapre : I agree that the animation is beautiful and looks filmic like the cartoons of old (I'm very curious about the workflow and how they have achieved this look). I absolutely cannot stand the hideous Flash-looking digital animation that has become commonplace nowadays.
@BloodyMurder It was most likely Activision who put microtransactions in CTR, not Beenox (the devs) - please watch this video, it's made by someone who actually plays CTR and not a gaming news YouTuber who doesn't even play the games they report on.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9edKU6M7qts
It was only a few years ago that Cartoon Network was actually good
Sonic sitting in that beach chair was a direct reference to the mid 90s OVA.

Edit: Wasn't going fast enough!
I watched the episode live yesterday afternoon; my brother and I were laughing the whole time! There were so many neat little references that made the whole thing super cool, a lot of them made towards the old “Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog” cartoon, complete with a “Sonic Says” segment! Bravo, OK KO! team, you’ve outdone yourselves!
@HammerKirby Isn't the reference from season 2? Why did it take more than a decade to be used again? That's what I meant by forced.
I'm talking about 3D Sonic games though, not something that plays in 3D for 20% of the game (Colors), and Generations is even worse because of the clunky Classic Sonic levels. 06 and Shadow are 100% 3D games. Black Knight sucks, I just included the year because it was the last time they made multiple playable characters and the story wasn't at pbs cartoon level.
I don't want to argue about Sonic games, yes I like 06/Shadow, yes Generations is good but I prefer free control in a Sonic game, I like being able to experiment with the controls and physics, Gens is locked down to boost, going forward, always waiting for the beeping reticle to show up on enemies, and of course the 2D sections that forcibly take you out of the action.
Oh wow, I was not expecting a reference to the Sonic OVA to even be shown. I don't watch this series, I have no cable so most shows I watch are on DVD or Netflix.
I do have the official Cartoon Network app on Roku (a streaming device), so I'll keep an eye out if it ever becomes an unlocked episode.
I like the touch that they told Tails motivation to keep up with sonic as it is stated in Sonic Adventure 1.
@ItsOKToBeOK thas dum
@Noid You work for the devil, you get the blame. Beenox is OWNED by Activision. They are no different as far as I'm concerned.
@BloodyMurder I cannot put into words how stupid that is - Beenox is a respectable dev team with a lot of talent and is run by completely different management. they aren't some kind of money-hungry Activision hivemind - they are only owned by Activision, not run by them - as far as we know at least, but even then it's completely unfair to make false allegations based on "patterns"
also little nitpick, but your devil allegory doesn't work as in religion the whole point of the devil is that he manipulates those under his control.
0:18 "...and I can't let that happen to the fastest, blue-est, greatest hero of all time!"
KOs kinda cringy. but crossovers cool..
