3D sci-fi space shooter Subdivision Infinity DX has secured an explosive release date on Nintendo Switch. You'll be able to jump into the mayhem from 8th August.
Inspired by the greatest space shooters around, the game is said to throw you into intense dogfights, fast-paced combat, and exciting showdowns with a variety of fast, heavily-armoured enemies. There are also challenging boss battles to contend with, all while you take in your "breathtaking" surroundings.
Here's some PR:
Explore the stunning beauty of the galaxy, rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4, and take on more than 40 missions. Guide Sgt. Jed Riddle, his drone ally AV-2, and the crew of Subdivision Infinity as they get to the bottom of the foul play involving the strange Element-122 and the mercenaries willing to kill for it.
Space is infinite and so are the opportunities in Subdivision Infinity DX: between missions take on bounties or mine asteroids for rare materials to create ever more powerful ships and become an unstoppable force among the stars.
As noted above, the game launches on Switch and other platforms on 8th August. You'll be able to grab it directly from the Switch eShop for $14.99.

And by "intense" they mean "the screen will shake until you get sick".
Hmm, I have be looking for a good open space shooter, will keep an eye on it
I'm sorry, but - Sergeant JED RIDDLE. Really? I know coming up with names isn't easy but that's a stinker right there.
Interesting, will keep an eye on this. I love a good space shooter and have been trying to get into Everspace, but I'm finding the roguelite element of it a bit tiring. I want to make progress at more than a crawl!
It looks a little too much like Everspace. While I liked the game play of Everspace, I did not like the progression. Starlink is more fun, in my opinion, with a variety of worlds and side quests.
Still, I must admit the visuals of this game are good.
@BionicDodo my thoughts exactly!
@dugan I shall have to check out Starlink. The toys angle put me off initially, but the Switch starter pack is now available for £11.99, so it feels rude not to give it a try!
This game sounds interesting, but if I'm going to be going around exploring the universe, I think I would rather do it on a larger ship with a full crew.
Imagine a game where you are the captain of an independent star ship. You can modify your ship for combat, exploration, transport etc. You then have to pick your own crew and interactions with the crew being a big part of the game. Crew loyalty effecting their performance during missions.
Imagine the freedom to roam and explore at will, but also having a story with different endings depending on which route you take!
Man, that's the kind of space adventure I dream of!
Flying around space in a star fighter, alone, shooting at faceless enemies, taking jobs for faceless clients... just sounds kinda bare bones.
@SegaBlueSky He'll "riddle" their bodies with bullets.
But yea, Space captain names are hard to come up with.
@Heavyarms55 Wasn't that endless sky?
Ooooohhhhhhh so I love everspace and starling and this looks like a mix between the two in’s some ways. I’ll be getting this, I think, after I see a bit more about it...
@Dakotastomp Not familiar with the title. I'll have to look it up.
The game looks and sounds like my cup of tea (though the screen shake is concerning). I just wish the protagonist wasn't generic dude #1001. For a game like this, it's better to let the player create their own protagonist or not focus on him (or her) at all and just stick to the ships.
Love Space shooters. Colony Wars was one of my fav games as a kid.
Keep an eye out for this one
Wonder if this is a port of Subdivision Infinity on apple/android devices that was published under Crescent Moon. Its a premium product, no iap that i recall.

Actually looks a lot like a more polished sequel to the highly enjoyable Manticore: Galaxy on Fire.
@BionicDodo Yes, I went all digital on sale for Starlink and enjoyed it much more than everspace. Everspace battle felt good, but after 20 hours of gameplay, with many upgrades, the game felt the same. Starlink has much more exploration and story. If you buy it, I hope you enjoy it!
@Heavyarms55 New avatar, friend, I almost didn't recognize you.
Yes, I want that game too. More team building, ship mods and tactics and strategy, different story arcs. I would buy that game.
@dugan Yeah. I change it every now and then. Lol
Someone will make the game. Someday.
@BionicDodo It ramps up quite a bit after a certain point, but the progression in Everspace definitely is not evenly paced. I can't get over the massive downgrade Switch got compared to PC with Everspace and I'm wondering if this game will be the same deal.
