In May, it was discovered Natsume would be releasing a complete version of Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition. This game was originally released last year and outperformed Natsume's expectations.
Now, the worldwide publisher and developer, has announced Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete will be released on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on 30th July. It includes all of the DLC ($18 value) and will be available digitally and physically in the US, for $29.99.
The president and CEO of Natsume Hiro Maekawa said this complete version was "the ultimate" Harvest Moon fan pack and mentioned how there are "endless possibilities" on each playthrough as there is so much DLC to enjoy.
Here's a little more from the PR:
Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete has special features made specifically for consoles and introduces Soleil, a new character who uses their Gem Sprite magic to help around the farm with new Co-Op Play. Grab a friend, and they'll be able to control Soleil. Soleil will be able to grow crops, tend livestock, and gather materials. Farm work has never been so easy!
All four DLC are included in Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete; this includes Decorations & Tool Upgrade Pack, Divine Marriageable Characters Pack, New Marriageable Characters Pack, and Doc and Melanie's Special Episodes.
In Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete, players begin the game as they set out looking for a fresh start and new surroundings. During their voyage, their ship is hit by a storm and goes down. As they drift into a small harbor town, now in a shambles from the storm, it will be up to the player to help rebuild the town and save the lighthouse...but it won't be easy! Nevertheless, with some hard work growing crops, tending livestock, and gathering materials for repairs, players will be able to make new friends, start a family, revive the lighthouse, and save the town!

Looks like only a Amazon or GameStop no BestBuy that I can find listing...
When was the last really good Harvest Moon game?
looks like a $2 phone game
@flapjack-ashley For me, Harvest Moon 64 was the last one I truly enjoyed. I tried last year’s on Switch, and enjoyed the fact I could play with just the tablet. But after a good two or so weeks I just got completely bored. Graveyard Keeper scratches that itch for me now.
Already have the game and dlc downloaded on my switch, so I'm good.
I'd love for them to update it to make it possible to start the game without a controller connected. Maybe now that it's getting reprinted they could update it.
Harvest Moon today is not a same Bokujou Monogatari anymore.
Basically this is Harvest Moon Hopeless edition.
Natsume keep ruining Harvest Moon name. 😒
Story of Seasons is the real "Harvest Moon".
Can’t believe people still fall for this scam. This is not the harvest moon you used to love. This is some greedy publisher with rights to the harvest moon name after Marvelous started using Xseed to publish the real harvest moon, story of seasons, in the west. These are some of the most soulless games you’ll find anywhere, thriving on the nostalgia of its name.
...this game really breaks my heart. This isn’t Harvest Moon. This looks like a mobile cash grab game.
Harvest Moon or not, this game looks purely atrocious.
Hmm there was an announcement Doraemon Story of Seasons was coming to the switch this autumn. But I can’t find any info after April?
I've played this title, with all of the DLC, and got halfway through the game (15 or so hours, and I was taking my time) before putting it down with pure disgust. I've tried all of the new 'harvest moon' games and have gotten more depth, story, and fun out of ftp mobile games. Leave anything published under the title Harvest Moon after 2013 alone. The last real HM game published under the Harvest Moon title was A New Beginning. Story of Seasons is the series now being created by the original producer and artist of Harvest Moon. Natsume has been making these horrible rip offs since acquiring the rights to the title, and they're all a waste of time and money. They're cheap games making all of their money off or people who remember the title and logo of the originals and think "oh, those were great!". Story of Seasons is where it's at- and we're getting 2 new ones: Story of Seasons: Reunion with Mineral Town, and Doraemon Story of Seasons.
@Morpheel Wait what. I don't get it.
@TechaNinja huh, what? The part about the controller? The game can be played completely with just the touch screen, but still won’t let you play unless you have a controller connected.
Other games I have that don’t need controllers skip the controller connecting screen, so I can just take the tablet and play. Not this one.
If they add quests to do I would get it. I need goal and just putting me on the map and start from scratch and without much any notifcation from what i've done/completed. I want reward system so I'm motivated to continue
@Morpheel Does it freak out if joycons are or are not attached?
@Alucard83 this game has quests. Maybe too many.
@TechaNinja it doesn’t “freak out”, it simply asks for a controller to be synchronized if there’s none, like most other games.
I just wish it didn’t, since unlike most other games, it can be played entirely with just the touch screen.
@flapjack-ashley don’t mind this one, Harvest Moon is now only a name owned by Natsume. Buy story of seasons instead that’s the original bokujou monogatari
I might get it on sale, but with two new bokumono games on the way...yeah it will be awhile.
@Anti-Matter Thank you so much! I now have high hopes that my girlfriend may enjoy a game! She loved Stardew Valley but she is done with it. She needs something similar but different enough to dive in it. It looks like it.
She is also attracted to the new Animal Crossing game on switch but its release is next year.
Doraemon Story of Seasons is now on my wishlist!
@flapjack-ashley Story of Seasons if reviews are to be believed.
Why buy this when there's going to be a Friends of Mineral town remake...
From the actual developers.
Doing a Google search, it looks like this game doesn't offer same-sex relationships so I'm not going to bother. If Stardew Valley (developed by just 1 person) could enter in to the 21st Century, then I don't understand why this series can't be inclusive too. I'll stick with Stardew.
