We're sorry to say, but Bandai Namco's adventure/tactical RPG Digimon Survive has been delayed until next year. After locking in a 2019 release last July, the multi-platform release has now been pushed back. This was confirmed during the "Future of Digimon" panel at this year's Anime Expo.
To make up for this, Bandai Namco announced Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition at the same event. The game will be released on the Switch and PC on 18th October, this year. It combines Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth first arrived on the PlayStation Vita in 2015 and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory followed in 2017 – releasing on Sony's handheld and home console at the time.
Here's a brief description along with the announcement trailer:
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition includes both Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory in one package. Solve mysteries with your favorite Digimon to save the digital and real world!
Were you looking forward to playing Digimon Survive on your Switch this year? Does Cyber Sleuth Complete make up for this delay? Tell us in the comments.

Very cool. The Cyber Sleuth games are pretty decent JRPGs in their own right, and a great addition to the library
I'll wait, take your time, but I want that Digimon game sooooo bad.
Ooohhh, I’m in the middle of Cyber Sleuth, it’s a really good JRPG with an interesting setting.
Yeeeeesssss this has been my #1 most wanted port announcement. Now I just need Wonderful 101 (or on the Digimon front, an English Re:Digitize and Adventures release.)
I'm going digital! Completely digital!
I am relieved about this news! Thank you so much! Digimon Survive's delay did not disappoint me in this news but I'm really happy about this!
Cool!
I never played the game, maybe now i can.
Perfect! I was hoping Cyber Sleuth would make the Switch!
I'm fine with Digimon Survive being delayed. More polish isn't a bad thing, and the latter half of 2019 is getting quite crowded on the Switch already. XD
I have Cyber Sleuth 1 on the Vita, played through a bunch of it till I got sidetracked by other stuff. Probably will pick these up so I can have both.
I'll finally get to play Cyber Sleuth! I've been curious about it for a while but never could be irked to get it. I'm already having flashbacks to playing Digimon World on PS1.
Amazing news, so excited!
When did Digimon become like SMT?
Great gameslot of fun!
So coming this fall Switch owners looking for some monster catching action will have a choice between a pack of two games released as one or one game split for completely arbitrary reasons into two separate releases? It's going to be a hard choice.
Cyber Sleuth was good (VITA). Hacker's Memory I gave up on (only $19 so ok with it). I guess they pretending Digimon World: Next Order does not exist.
Regardless, Both not really worth playing over.
I try my best to not think of digimon survive just because it makes it seem like it's releasing faster (don't ask it just kinda does for me), and yet when I do hear about it, it's about it being delayed...eh, at least we're getting digimon story soon
@Xelha physical for what, survive or story? If it's story then yeah, it's getting a physical, it's listed on gamestop to pre order
I want to be excited about this, really, I do, but with Bandai Namco discontinuing many of their physical releases in favour of codes-in-a-case, I can't say that I am at all optimistic.
I'll buy them on day one if they are issued a proper physical release. If not, I may consider the PC version if it is available via Steam, but only once it's dirt-cheap.
I beat the first one and liked it . Guess I’ll pick this up for both cyber sleuth games.
this is actually great news as I am sure more people wanted Cyber than Survive anyway! will pick this up for my wife as she loves monster catching games.
This is great I always wanted to play Cyber Sleuth and now I can now we only need is a switch Next Order and were set.
Played it on the PS4, not really a fan. Just felt like a very by the numbers dungeon crawling RPG to me with dull combat and a story and setting that felt more like poor man's Shin Megami Tensei rather than a Digimon game. Dunno if they've fixed it here but the translation work was also abysmal, at parts it made so little sense that it felt like they were just going for literal translation of the japanese text.
E: Just to clarify I'm referring to Cyber Sleuth, never played the other one. Despite sounding pretty negative in my post I'd say you could still do a lot worse than CB if you can get it cheap.
Still excited for Digimon Survive though, I'm fine with them taking their time.
@Xelha Physical has been confirmed. So far Gamestop and Bandai Namco store has a listing and also there is box art for the game as well. Just need confirmation that the DLC is included for both games. It does say Complete after all.
Awesome. I enjoyed my time with the first one on PS4 when I bought it in a digital sale. I never got close to finishing it but that is mainly due to my time with the PS4 dwindling when the Switch started taking over my game time.
I love Digimon. Never had the chance to play these games because I don't own a Vita or PS4, but I've seen some gameplay over the years and I always wanted to try them, and both of them in the same package? Yes please.
Even though I love Pokemon more than any other monster collecting game, I think maybe this is the perfect time for me to skip another Pokemon entry with all that bad decisions and negativity surrounding the games this generation (I didn't play the Let's Go games for almost the same reasons), Digimon, Yokai-Watch, and SMTV (where are my demons Atlus?) will keep me entertained well enough to try and forget about that.
This is AWESOME news! Digi-MON-MON-MON!!!
Interesting. I wonder if they'll include the pre-order DLC for both games, which you can't get on their PS4 versions at all now, which is also very disappointing for me.
@TheLightSpirit
The Cyber Sleuth games were always playable on the movie, being Vita games. Which I would argue are less cumbersome handhelds than the current Switch(give us that hardware revision already, dangit).
@MsJubilee These games apparently. I love me some SMT, and quite a few friends told me to snatch these up for vita. Guess Ill finally do it on Switch.
This is great news OwO
Friendship ended with POKÉMON
Now
