If you enjoy picking up physical editions of indie games on Nintendo Switch, Machinarium is set to be your next juicy purchase.
Super Rare Games has revealed that it'll be partnering with Amanita Design to physically release Machinarium on Nintendo's console. The game originally released in 2009, and this physical edition aims to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Only 5,000 copies will go on sale; pre-orders will open on 13th June at Super Rare's website with the game then being shipped the following week.
If you want to learn more about this point-and-click game, make sure to read our full review from when it arrived on the eShop last year. Here's a snippet of what we had to say:
While this incarnation of Machinarium doesn’t offer anything different from the other versions already out there, it’s still a fine port of an award-winning point-and-click adventure. Even after nine years, Amanita Design’s brilliant little odyssey still looks, plays and feels fresh thanks to a quirky soundtrack, those instantly recognisable hand-drawn visuals and an approach to environmental puzzles that strikes the right balance between obtuse and tantalisingly obvious.
As with all Super Rare Games releases, your purchase will come with interior art, a full-colour 60-page manual, an exclusive sticker, and a three-card trading card pack.

This was annouced on Friday, this aint NEWs, this is OLDs
I will try to get it.
i have the beautiful box on PC. completely in box and was only 5 euro. And includes also a lot of extras
Please include the file size of the digital release in articles like this, so it's quick to make the assessment of whether a physical purchase makes sense in that regard.
Machinarium isn't that large of a game, at 316MB, but you never really know with 2D indie games.
Sometimes, it's just nicer to pay for physical when you know you're also saving 5+ gigabytes of system/SD storage.
Wonderful game but really don't feel the need to buy a physical edition, certainly not on Switch.
nope not for me
I've had mine pre ordered for a month now. I have the entire Super Rare collection so can't stop now.
I've given up on super rare games since it became a rat race for their games. I wanted a copy of the fairune collection and it was gone in a few seconds. I'm not down with the whole waiting round refreshing pages to have a chance of getting a copy. Their games are overpriced too with a cheeky five pound shipping charge even within the UK.
This is such an awesome game. Love Super Rare over Limited Run cuz man you get the game soon after you order instead of waiting months and months and months and months. Crazy concept. Definitely order as soon as it goes live
