The Legend of Zelda and Crypt of the NecroDancer crossover Cadence of Hyrule was last week confirmed for a June release, during a trailer broadcast at the Japanese Indie World presentation. While we wait for an exact date to be locked in, why not take a moment to view these fresh screenshots shared by 4Gamer.net.
Get a closer look at the gorgeous rhythmic environments, the game's user interface and all of the different enemies Link and co will encounter on their adventure. There's even a boss battle on display!

Haha. Bass Guitarmos Knights. I love it.
This looks way too good to be procedurally generated.
I will only get it if it's easier than necrodancer...I usually never opt for easy games too
I think this will be their "available now" title. Despite other rumors.
I’m also curious to hear some of the tracks. Hope they are not grating to listen to on repeat since you will hear them over and over again. I liked what I heard so far, but it would be nice for Brace Yourself to release a couple ahead of the game’s release.
The Bass Guitarmos Knights are absolutely amazing. Any reference to A Link to the Past is good in my book!
One of the most underappreciated things in games is the moments of doing nothing, or at least being in a position of safety not having to worry about screwing it all up. The lack of this element in Necrodancer, made it absolutely tiring for me; hopefully it all works in this game as the art does look nice.
I need a Demo as I dont really understand the concept of this game except for it is rhythm based
I quite like the GBA style art but every video I've seen of this with it's ugly staccato movement looks terrible. This is a pass from me.
this looks so good. why isn't this getting a physical release?
It does look absolutely fantastic. I cannot wait for this.
@Bunkerneath Strangely, there is a demo (in English) in the Japanese e-shop for Necrodancer. You'll need to create a Japanese account to get it, but I highly recommend you do. Why it's not available in other e-shops is a mystery.
@proof21 Thanks for pointing that out. You are so right. Even in a game with a crazy boss fight, it is great to have a corner to sit (even for a couple seconds) regroup, assess--then return. Or: being in a position of safety to simply look at the game, appreciate the music and graphics. While I like Rhythm Heaven Megamix, i was a little sad that I could not see the funny visuals--I had to fully concentrate on the rhythm game play.
Thanks for that input, friend.
This game looks like it'll be a lot longer. Also, it'll be interesting not always having the main character be in the middle of the screen
I cannot wait for this!!! I need my old skool Zelda fix!! love the art style and music
Man is this some fantastic sprite work! Can't wait to hear the remixed tracks too. I downloaded the demo from Japan and powered through it. Kind of kicked my butt, but I was pretty engrossed. The original game was on sale for around $5 one time and I wish I had jumped on it back then. Can't see it going that low again unless they do some sort of bundle with Cadence.
As for difficulty, I'm hoping Nintendo's involvement will mean more accessibility. I can't imagine them wanting to shut out potential customers due to difficulty. Then again, they wanted to work with the Necrodancer team and may not want to take away too much of what made it special. Nintendo didn't make Cuphead any easier, although that wasn't a partnership. I've seen others say that maybe they three different characters will be akin to difficulty levels in the game. That would be an interesting way to do it and I know the original Necrodancer had something similar.
Guitarmos! LMAO, I love it
@Flowerlark Yeah I'm hoping this game will be a little more approachable. I love the concept of Necrodancer but it's so difficult that I'm missing out on seeing most of the game because I can't even get to the end of zone 2.
