For these types of releases, I can never decide between portability or trophies. First world problems...

@Wesker I always prefer portability since I get more enjoyment out of simply playing rather than chasing achievements, but that's just me!

Loving it so far! Feels so right having all this Contra on a Nintendo system!

The one thing bugging me is that Bill & Lance don’t talk in the Super Contra intro, their lips just move!

Can you guys be sure to review each game in the collection when/if you cover this one

Decent job Konami but like Castlevania you again left out a few gems!! I’ll forgive you only if you keep these anniversary collections going!!

TATE MODE CONFIRMED FOR CONTRA!

(You would be surprised how many folk forget the coin-op screen was portrait for a side ways scroller!)

If anyone else cares about these things, the shield is emulated properly at last in Contra 3/Super Probotector. Each Virtual Console version (and the version on SNES mini) introduced a weird blurring effect that looked wrong. Now it is crisp and blur-free! And good on M2 for including 50hz versions as an option- I’m not going to pretend they’re better, but those were the versions I played for years!

Never really been a Contra fan but for some reason I want the anniversary collection after watching the trailer. Too many games.

I need to face facts, I will never be able to complete any Contra game without save states....all over this.

@MasterLEON Thankfully, the xenomor... um, random alien still has its lines. As for our heroes, there isn't even captioning to tell us what they're saying! This is one of the weirdest omissions from a retro game that I can remember, and I'm a retro junkie as someone who started gaming in the early 80s. Not a game changer, but just very disappointing to a purist like myself. It's not likely I'll stick around to watch attract mode, unless it were to be patched back in, lol.

Only thing I can think of is it being some royalties issue on voice recordings. Any other thoughts on why?

@realchevyman the 30 lives code on contra nes doesn't work for me.... First time I've ever had this issue.

Edit: had to reset from switch home menu. Code works now. Really weird problem to have. XD
