The football season may be at an end but that doesn't mean you have to turn to other sports for your entertainment – Spanish studio EnjoyUp Games have teamed up with Rubén Alcañiz to confirm that Super Arcade Soccer will launch on the Switch eShop later this month, offering you what could be the perfect tonic for your post-season blues.
Launching on Friday 31st May, Super Arcade Soccer will offer "direct, accessible control" as well as "a wide range of actions, such as passing, centering [and] skill shots". Sounds promising.
There will be 40 national sides to choose from, and you'll be able to take your chosen side all the way to the top with the included World Cup mode. There's a 2-player mode included as well.
If you decide to pre-purchase now then you can get Super Arcade Soccer for $4.89 (NA) or €4.89 (Europe). Post-launch, those prices rise to $6.99 / €6.99.
Will you be taking the plunge? Or do you think this one is best left on the bench? Let us know with a comment.

I love FIFA, but sometimes I need a sport game that isn't a simulator. Also one that doesn't try to get me to buy micro transactions every other second. Might check this one out.
Man, if this game has «passing», I can’t see this one go wrong...
In all seriousness, I’d love a good arcade football game, so hope this turns out well.
This one's by Enjoyup Games, so it's utter garbage. All of their games suck! Bare minimum graphics, awful minimalist design, cheap production value. Save your money.
Games like this and that cartoony retro one that’s on switch really need team editor. The other one on switch with 80s style teams would have been awesome with the ability to edit all the teams and make them throwback elevens.
I’d sink in hours editing the teams. This game looks the same.
I would like to try a demo. I've seen a gameplay and seems a little slow...
Active Soccer has good passing
Would love a silly, but fun soccer game on Switch... unfortunately, this looks like shovelware. I'll check on reviews when it's out, but not expecting much.
SEGA... where is Soccer Slam HD???????
@DockEllisD I’m gonna have to go for a coffee, watching that was putting me to sleep.
I’m in no way a sports or sports game fan, but even I had fun back on the old 16-bit football games like International Superstar Soccer and Virtua Soccer; back before they spent half the time ensuring each player had the correctly coloured shoes and the right hair curvature as in real life.
It is a $2 Mobile game.
By the looks of it - better off just using the $6 to rent a movie on my phone for the commute.
@DockEllisD Thanks for the vid. The pitch is made of treacle!
Looks a bit 16 bit but if the game plays well I’d take a look as a cheap option. Active Soccer 2019 is currently my football game I’m playing. No FIFA but great fun and tough to master.
@DockEllisD Wow, that's bad indeed. Looks more like geriatric soccer, really...
Good thing I hadn't pre-ordered it yet, even though the thought did cross my mind. Boy, did I dodge a bullet there, so thanks.
Guess that preorder money is going towards something more worthy of my attention...
We need an updated version ISS Deluxe on Switch, not junk like this!
I don't have Active Soccer on Switch but I have it on other platforms and it's miles better than this.
@DockEllisD Looks like there's no run button. That's a shame. I can't see myself having fun with an arcade style soccer game in which it takes players 5 minutes to get to the other side of the field
Is this like Sensible Soccer? I'd love a new game in that vein-- I'm not a big sports fan, but I can get into them when they're more arcadey and less realistic.
