Splatoon 2 was updated to Version 4.5.0 this weekend, bringing with it a healthy number of fixes and changes to some of the main, sub, and special weapons. As it turns out, it also introduced a bug causing the game to crash in specific situations, but Nintendo has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix.
Players have reportedly been experiencing problems when playing Clam Blitz mode on the Piranha Pit stage, with the game seemingly crashing in several cases. The official Splatoon Twitter account notes that a second update will be pushed to the game in the near future to fix the issue.
In the meantime, the offending stage has been removed from the Clam Blitz rotation, so you should be able to jump in as usual without encountering any issues.
Are you still playing Splatoon 2 regularly? Have you been playing since the new changes were introduced? Let us know with a comment.

What did they expect? The devs were playing with fire by changing attack animations by 2/60 frames. And having the splattershot slightly cover more area around the players feet? It was only a matter of time before they would face the ramifications of their actions. Pure chaos.
I just booted it up for the first time in like a year. So much has changed and I have no idea what's going on. Lol. I was reminded why the appeal couldn't last for me before and why it won't again now: No real voice chat (the dumb app doesn't count). The game is amazing but no voice chat simply ruins what could be a blast of an online multiplayer experience.
@invictus4000 "One man's meat is another man's poison". I play Splatoon because there is no voice chat, for me even just the emotes can be annoying sometimes, I can't imagine having to hear what people actually want to say.
I dont like playing splatoon cause everytime I try to play with my friends we almost always end up on opposing teams. Its annoying and I dont know how to prevent that from happening
If anyone wants a convincing argument against voice chat with strangers they should be in the room with me when I’m losing. Or often winning. So far only the TV has had to withstand my yelling, “DELETE YOURSELF FROM THIS EARTH YOU MISERABLE WORMS!” at incompetent teammates. And for the sake of my own dignity and the emotional well-being of the human race, that’s probably how it should stay.
Ranked Battle voice chat would make your ears burn for sure - lol.
@Moonlessky play ranked and you'll be put together.
@Moonlessky If you're still starting out in the game, I think you need to reach level 10 before you can unlock League Battle, which lets you play together. Otherwise, as long as you both pick the same team during Splatfest, you'll always be on the same side of Turf War.
And don't forget about Salmon Run!
