Koei Tecmo America has revealed that Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch on 26th March 2019. Both digital and physical versions are in the works.
In the game, players assume the role of a young noblewoman called Nelke von Lestamm and are tasked with transforming the quaint village of Westwald into a prosperous city. To develop buildings and extend the size of Westwald, you'll need to earn money from the businesses Nelke runs or sell synthesised items for cash just like previous Atelier entries.
Exploring the areas outside of Westwald with alchemists allows Nelke to collect raw materials to perform said synthesis. Nelke must entrust one of the many alchemists in town to synthesise these resources into sellable goods, and each alchemist has their own set of specialities which allow them to offer improved item creation.
If you love your physical, super-duper, limited, collector's edition type packages, you'll be very happy to hear that a Limited Edition set is now available to pre-order directly from NIS America's online store. The bundle includes the game, an official art book, the soundtrack, a cloth poster, a collector's box, and an acrylic stand, as seen below.
That limited edition will set you back $99.99 - expect the standard retail release and digital offerings to be around the usual retail game price mark.
Are you an Atelier fan? Will you be snapping up that limited edition box? Let us know if you're excited for this one with a comment.

The description of this game sounds great, but I have no knowledge or experience with this series. Is it worth checking out?
@Frenean Yes. Especially if you like kawaii aesthetic and addicting rpg mechanics.
@Spectra What do you mean by that?
ugh...will make a preorder for this collector's package from NISA as usual.
@Spectra someone whom is closed minded doesn't read well do they.
I see a lot of artwork from this series, but so rarely have I ever seen a screenshot, that I really have no clue what the player actually does in the games.
I've never played any of these games before. Would this game be worth playing at all?
@Kamiyouni
The art style isn't my favorite, but I don't dislike it and if the gameplay is fun, that's all that matters! Will definitely give it a watch on YouTube and see if it's for me.
This series is so pokemon like to me, the core mechanics keep me going back game after game and I accept it with its arguably many faults
@Spectra just be glad it's been released at all. They know most gamers wants original voices.... and maybe the sales aint that very good to make up for it....I will buy it for sure. Every single Atelier that gets released all mine!
@Spectra Oh you will be surprised how many non-Japanese speaking people would want to just listen to the original voices with English subs. Because their is basically a (useless) war between Dub and Sub that you won't believe. Trust me, I like to watch some Anime, and I love to read other comments, and every time when I go to a comments section with English Dub, I keep on seeing people saying "Subs are better than dubs" most of the time. And others that said I rather hear the original, because well it is original. I watch on an popular Anime illegal site and subs usually get more views than dubs on the site. (replying to what you said to Alucard83)
Not really statistics, but just showing an example.
Edit: And yes I started typing this without reading that whole comment....so heheh. I do agree that they could of Dub the game in English though.
@Pod
Judging from the artwork in the series, I'm presuming the player does what a pedo would do if they're not busy buying panties from a vending machine.
@VotesForCows @Spectra so is the Armand trilogy worth getting digital without ever playing an Atelier game before?
Oh, I would also rather to get them on Nintendo Switch than another platform.
I personally didn't fall in love with Atelier after my first game, Lydie and Suelle. It was charming and played okay, but ultimately it didn't grab me. I never felt like I had to see how it ended.
I will say that a lot of people say Lydie and Suelle is not the best game to start with. And it wasn't bad, it was just not amazing.
This is a really nice special edition, but I think I might try one of the ports before I spend crazy money on Atelier.
