2K has revealed a brand new update for NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 which brings some free, spooky Halloween content (plus some extra goodies, too) to the game. This DLC arrives on PlayStation4, Xbox One and PC today, but will arrive on Switch "at a later date".
The update introduces a fancy, new Halloween playground, an assortment of Halloween-themed outfits (available via Swag Pack unlocks), and a new lottery pick called the Ankle Breaker, all of which can be seen in the trailer above. That's not all, though, as all-time great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has also been added to NBA 2K Playgrounds 2’s roster of unlockable players.
As is often the case with updates these days, today's new release also features a number of improvements and balance changes that hope to address issues reported by players since launch, including "refinements for character speed, blocking rates, and three-pointer percentages, as well as a variety of minor technical fixes to address issues with lag, AI, and the shot meter".
Naturally, we hope that these improvements will also find their way into the Switch edition's eventual update, but there's no word just yet on the exact date 2K was referring to. At least we know it's definitely on the way, though, hopefully adding to the larger-than-life fun already on offer.
Have you been shooting some hoops on Switch in NBA 2K Playgrounds 2? Will you be looking forward to this update when it arrives? Tell us below.

Here they go again, the same thing happened with the first game lmao
Switch players always have to wait.
Arrives at a later date, meaning, after Halloween...
Useless....
Another reason to give 2K 2 fingers
Have the physical ordered for switch. I knew when they said 200+ players to be added it would be a shambles again.
I have on the Xbox already though and whilst I am loving it - the roster is a mess... massive backward step - they promised Kareem on launch... Iverson is MIA. Ewing and Rodman taken out... so many more taken out but those three are big need in itself.
Give us MJ and Kobe but take out 200 ballers.... just to give them back later??? 2k deploying the WWE series tactic... take it out and give it back later to look heroic. No mate You are mugging us off. Shame coz it’s a decent game.
Hopefully the little things like this is enough to cost them some sales. The more people who steer clear, the better.
At a later date? Ha if it miss Halloween then it's pointless. Another reason why 2K sucks, couldn't even release DLCs out on the same day.
@retro_player_22 They made sure the microtransactions were available day 1, so I guess that shows you where their priorities lie.
@TheDragonDAFan My priorities are avoiding this mess. Not worth spending money on IMO.
Haha, not long till Halloween. They better be quick to implement this otherwise there is no point.
I mean come on guys, 2K is a small indie company with only a handful of employees and little money to work with!
"8/10 - Great!"
...Great is a very strong word
@Coach_A
perhaps Nintendo Life had free DLC for the game when they tested it...
I hope that 2K revalue one day the ingame money to being able to win great players faster.
