Minit was first spotted earlier this year in May when Nintendo of Japan was showing off upcoming eShop titles at their "Indie World" presentation. Published by Devolver Digital, the Zelda-like adventure game incorporating puzzle elements is played sixty seconds at a time.
During the original reveal, the title was pegged as a Japanese exclusive. This has fortunately changed since, with the game now being given an estimated release date on the US eShop. It's scheduled to arrive on 8th August for $9.99.
Here's the official description:
Journey outside the comfort of your home to help unusual folk, uncover countless secrets, and overcome dangerous foes, all in hopes of lifting a rather unfortunate curse that ends each day after just one minute.
As previously noted, the game is developed by Jan Willem Nijman, co-founder and one-half of Vlambeer, Kitty Calis, who most recently contributed to Horizon Zero Dawn, Jukio Kallio, a freelance composer, and Dominik Johann, art director of Crows Crows Crows.
Take a look at the original trailer above, and tell us in the comments if you would be interested in spending a minute of your time with this game.

Seems like a crazy concept. I mean how much could you possibly get done in one minute.
What a unique idea!
April 8th?
I just wasted a minute of my life watching that.....😛
Now I am interested
@adh56 Fixed
@OnBeingHuman This game seems to copy the concept of Half Minute Hero. But that was a leveling up game. This seems to be a finding items game.
GameInformer reviewed it well, so I’ll be sure to try this.
Yay I’ve been waiting for this one!
I do like the look of this but I worry that it can only take an hour to beat max, because you have to be able to reach the edge of the map in under a minute so how many possible and unique things can you truly do to lengthen the game in the confines you’ve built?
As NL review about as fast as paint drying (yet those articles endorsing hacking, or advertising stuff to get them more money certainly pop up super fast 🙃) I recomend watching this.

Just saved me time and money by confirming every fear I had about it.
@HappyRusevDay Acrylic paint dries within minutes, so I'll take that
Definitely grabbing this. I was hoping it would come to Switch. Now if Bastion, Transistor and Pyre can make it over...
Any word on a European release date? This looks awesome!
Looking forward to it.
It is not like Zelda...
@HappyRusevDay I love short but sweet experiences like this. For me a game has to have a really good reason to be longer than 15 hours!
I have heard great things about this game on PS4, the pick up nature of it seems like a perfect fit for the Switch.
I played this game to completion a while ago. It's pretty good!
Liked the look of the game until I saw the timer and that bothered me. However, will be keeping an open mind and hope it comes to Europe.
Easily one of my favorite games of the year so far. Possibly too 3 behind Celeste and God of War.
Minit rules so much.
@setezerocinco it’s a lot like the GB Zelda titles, except your trying to find ways to maximize efficiency the whole time.
It’s fun as heck, and definitely Zelda inspired.
@HappyRusevDay I beat Minit in one night (maybe 3 hours?), and tried the harder mode for another hour or two. It’s a perfect length, and I’m glad they didn’t try to artificially lengthen it.
I’d rather replay a good short game 100 times than play a single looooong game.
@GrailUK Yooooo, all 3 of those would be amazing on Switch. Good calls.
Yes! I've been counting down the hours (and holding off on playing the Steam version) until this gets released on Switch.
I want Sword of Ditto!!!! Aaaahhhhh!!!!
I'll wishlist it and buy it on sales. Too many games coming out at the moment for me to justify spending $10 on such a short albeit interesting experience
@Richard_Atkinson I used the wrong paint on our stairway. Not only is it really shiny it took about a week to fully dry. I can still smell it a few weeks later.
