X.D. Network Inc has revealed some fresh details and a gameplay video for its upcoming title Juicy Realm, along with an updated release date window of 'Q2 2018'.
Supporting two-player local co-op, and available to play in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, Juicy Realm is a top-down roguelike game featuring randomly generated maps and different weapons to master. In the game, plants have made a mighty effort to take over the world, fighting humanity to the top of the food chain. You must lead your team through the mysterious plant kingdom, eliminating the threat against your kind.
The game plays as a top-down dual-stick shooter, and players must move quickly and efficiently to successfully take on their foes. There is treasure to collect, endless enemies to defeat, randomly-appearing bosses, and a host of Easter eggs for you to uncover.
Will you be keeping an eye out for this one with it hits the Nintendo eShop this summer? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Dual-stick shooter
Ok, where do I have to put my money?
It looks like a cartooney Enter the Gungeon.
I'm always down for more of these, as long as gameplay is tight and they have a good loop.
looks great but what about nuclear throne?
Not been able to get into this genre, but at least this one doesn't use the pixelated retro graphics style that so many others have, so I'll keep an eye out for it. Sound design... I'm undecided on.
@RetroGamerAndrew
Yeah Nintendo Life has difficulty labelling roguelikes correctly
Reminds me a bit of Zombies Ate My Neighbours, which is a good thing.

@gcunit I was the same for ages. Bought ‘Binding’ based on gushing reviews and hated. I had to force myself to play old games as I wanted to play but had no funds. I sat for 30 mins forcing myself to play it and something just clicked. I couldnt get enought of Binding for weeks....so....yeah...sometimes just keep trying I guess?
@KIRO I played it for more than 30 minutes (maybe) and just couldn't see it being worth my time or money, so I sold it. Whatever that game's magic is, it does a poor job of demonstrating it to new players. But maybe the genre's just not for me.
@gcunit What kind of genres do you like? Just curious
