From today until next week, various locations in the Japanese city of Yokohama will play host to the annual Pikachu Outbreak event.
This year's event consists of merchandise stalls, parades, air ship flyovers and a number of Pokémon GO parks and stadiums, catering for fans of the phenomenally popular mobile game released last year. Pokémon GO fans will be pleased to learn that Shiny Pikachu and Raichu will be available during the event.
The event concludes on Monday the 14th, with a Disneyland-style carnival parade at Nihon Odori Station.

Woot woot I beat the Snivy dude.
@FTPinkRabbit Kalmaro, that's his name.
Nice. Did you see any special trading cards for this event? The outbreak pikachu triple set from a few years ago was wonderful.
I guess I don't count as "the Snivy dude".
I love how the security guard has a Pikachu shirt.
"Piiiikaaaaa..."
Pulls out taser
"CHUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!"
You know those guys who were saying that Pokemon was dying fifteen years ago? What do they have to say now?
I like the news of the shiny Pikachu, and I'd like to see that come beyond Japan. Raichu is one of my favorite pokemon, and I'd like to have a shiny variant in Pokemon Go.
Will the shiny Pikachu and Raichu only be available in Japan?
Pikachu Madness !!
I hope they're not deflating Pikachu this time.
The Yokohama Pikachu Outbreak is one of the most easily disturbing, nightmarish events one could ever imagine.
I look forward to seeing coverage of it every year.
too bad i have to miss all of the fun with pikachu....
