It's that time again, dear readers, for the Nintendo Download Update details for North America. This week includes a retail release across Switch and Wii U, along with download-only options across all three current stores. It's a diverse mix of games, so let's get to it.

Nintendo Switch Retail Download

Cars 3: Driven to Win (Warner Bros. Interactive, $59.99) - Developed by Avalanche Studios (well known for the Disney Infinity series), this racing game includes a variety of modes and multiplayer / co-op options. It looked decent in gameplay footage, especially for young fans of the films. Available from 13th June.

Nintendo Switch eShop

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (WayForward, $19.99USD) - The HD debut of this iconic franchise arrived on various systems including the Wii U last year, and now gets its chance to impress on the Switch. Stylish and full of flair, we enjoyed this a lot in our original Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Wii U eShop review.

Shock Troopers 2nd Squad (Hamster, $7.99USD) - An overhead run-and-gun title that shakes things up a little in comparison to the original, including the option to jump into vehicles and go through levels with increased firepower. As an ACA release this will also have extras such as screen filters, game customisation options and global leaderboards.

3DS eShop

Anime Workshop (Collavier Corporation, $7.99USD) - This app offers tools to create your own animations, also promising the ability to share those creations online.

3DS HOME Themes

Disney Tsum Tsum Princesses Edition

Wii U Retail Download

Cars 3: Driven to Win (Warner Bros. Interactive, $49.99USD) - The Wii U iteration of the game, which should be largely the same but does lack co-op features. Available from 13th June.

Wii U eShop

Cubit the Hardcore Platformer Robot HD (Coderchild, $4.99USD) - This is challenging platforming where music plays a prominent part. This title previously arrived on 3DS and was quite good, and this HD version promises alternate endings and guest characters among its selling points. Those that own the 3DS version can get a discount on the Wii U iteration meanwhile, and those that buy the Wii U version can download the portable edition for free.

Wii U Virtual Console

Neutopia II (Konami, $5.99USD) - A TurboGrafx-16 RPG followed the storyline of its predecessor, with gameplay familiar to fans of Nintendo's early Legend of Zelda games. We gave this a recommendation in our short and snappy Wii Virtual Console review nearly a decade ago.

Alien Crush (Konami, $5.99USD) - This TurboGrafx-16 game offers something a little different from the old system, as it's a pinball game with a sci-fi theme; we liked it in our review way back in 2006.

As always Nintendo of America wants you to browse the eShop and check out the official sales and deals website for discount details.
